Look at these BABBIES! - Ghanyarah - May 06 2015

Okay so I was cleaning up my snake tanks when I decided to take them out and measure them. It's kind of because I wanted to show them off, and kind of because I actually haven't taken any recent measurements of them. If I had a means to weigh them, I totally would, but unfortunately I don't have any room in the budget for a good scale since I don't really need one. Anyways. You'll see lots of my face and my messy house in these photos. Please ignore them.

First up was my dumerils boa, Montgomery. She measured out to a whopping 48 inches. I got her when she was about 8 months in January 2012; now she's around 4 years old and STILL growing.

hiss hiss fall in love (ok but at this point she decided to go up my head and knock off my glasses)

This is her about 3 months after I got her. When we first got her, she went on a 6 month diet, so she was very small for a long time. The photo below is of her sitting in the bathroom sink, which is not very big, during bath time.

Next up is Rochester, my ball python. I got him when he was 7 months old in October 2009, so he's about 6 years old now. He measured out to 42 inches. Yes, he is a big baby, and yes, I cradle him like a baby because thats just what he does.

dear lord please ignore my big tum. i'm not pregnant, just chunky, apparently. lmfao

This is him right after a bath. Ball pythons like to curl up as opposed to meandering, so after bath time, I wrap him in a nice warm towel and he snuggies with me while he dries off (this was a while ago, hence my wacky hair)

For reference, here he is when I brought him home. Thats a margarine tub.

I run a girl guides unit (brownies, ages 7-8) and every year for their pets badge, I bring in the snakes and some geckos. The girls always love it, and the snakes very much enjoy teaching reptile awareness to everyone! It's a small dream job of mine, but I'd really like to do that kind of thing for a living. Anyways...

LASTLY, since she ABSOLUTELY couldn't be left out, my cat France had to come check out the action. Naturally, she was very concerned. Not about the snakes - just the fact that it wasn't all about her.

Then she decided that she wanted to be measured too. She is a paltry 18 inches. PATHETIC!

That whole thing with the snakes was totally unacceptable. Now I am trapped to an eternity of lapcat.

We weren't actually allowed to have a cat when we moved into this place (which broke my heart ok I'd been waiting 4 years to get a cat 8( ), then this christmas, our mouse problem got so bad that they got into the gifts I'd wrapped. I was so mad, I told boyfriend to call the landlord and ask if we could get a cat to fix the mouse problem. That day we went out and adopted France! The mouse casualty count is up to 5 and there have been no traces of them since. Also, I love her. She's very chatty and the biggest baby. <3 <3 I also have 9 leopard geckos and 1 crested gecko, but if I take photos of them, I have to take photos of them ALL, and ATM I'm just not cut out to take some nice photos of them right now u_u If you want though, I'd be happy to talk about them. ;P

ALSO YOU GUYS SHOULD POST PICS OF YOUR PETS. I LOVE PETS. SHOW ME ALL YOUR BABIES PLEASE!!
