Two of them - Duck Duck - Mar 02 2023

It is unclear how the second kitten got here.

In fact, it is unknown when it began existing. Clearly young, but dry - free from the fluids of crystal birthing, not a shard of quartz within sight. As if the evidence it had ever began had been swept away by a tiny, red white and black paw.

All that was understood now is that it was here, in Draco, accompanying the previously spawned feline. They were both young, but there was already a world of difference between them - Goose's fur was wild, untamable, much like the animal it grew on. Duck-Duck's fur, in comparison, was groomed frequently, shining in the sickly green light. In fact, it seemed to take a darker, iridescent sheen - had it been cleaning itself with Oil??

(The answer is yes. Yes it had.)

The two had taken to eachother easily, as if somewhere in there had been kindred spirits. They circled around the spire as it pulsed and writhed, unbothered. Flourishing? Definitely moisturised. In fact, Duck lapped at her fur now with a sandpaper tongue, true eyes half-lidded, the false unblinking and sightless. Why did the latter feel like a lie?

RE: Two of them - Goose - Mar 03 2023

When another kitten had first appeared, as seamlessly as the first one, Goose had noticed her immediately. Her shape was similar that Goose had pondered at first whether this creature was here to challenge Goose. But, as pale lavender eyes observed this other being, it had came to the conclusion that this was not the case.

Like Goose, this was a creature of chaos. A kindred soul, not simply two beings in similar bodies. Perhaps, Goose had concluded in a surprisingly thoughtful moment, they were not two beings at all. Simply one being that had been disconnected into two halves.

To this creature, Goose had proudly given her its grand title to hold close. It had spoken aloud for her, the one word. "Goose," It had introduced. And even if the other had not spoken in return, it was no insult, Goose had decided.

How could it be, when there was no separation between these two beings. Goose was Goose, but this other being was Goose as well, in a way. It was worthy. It followed Goose, led Goose, and walked alongside Goose.

And so it was content to circle the dark spire alongside its other half. When the calico paused to clean herself, the ball of fluff that was Goose sat close. In a way, it cleaned itself, but not its chaotic white fur, for it cleaned the calico that was Goose and not Goose, reaching spots on the other's head and back that were less easy for the other body to reach.

And so it contently consumed some of the Oil that was on the other's fur.
