A drink of water - Wild - Mar 13 2023 Wild walked into Fornax with a thirst for some fresh water. She was only there to drink, not swim. Geladas were not made to swim after all. She stopped where the water met land and began to drink. As she drank she thought of what to do after her thirst has been quenched. Wild had heard rumors that some of the caves were infected. She was warned to stay away, and stay away she shall. Wild didn't know any more than that, but she knew that the Order was evil. It needed to be removed from the caves. As she drank, she wondered if Astraea, one of the masters of the cave, would do anything about this infestation. @Sakhira RE: A drink of water - Sakhira - Mar 13 2023 Sakhira had no set home, allowing her to wander more freely throughout the caves. It wasn't the fact that she didn't want one exactly. It was more that she got bored rather easily. Traveling was the only way for her to find inspiration and to satisfy her thirst for more knowledge. Not to mention, she may rescue more stones along the way too. That was probably the primary motivation. She was walking along the beach, marveling at all the way the waves sparkled in the light. It was so pretty. They crashed along the shore, then receded back into the ocean, leaving the sand shining in its wake. The sphynx tread the border between sand and sea, allowing the edge of the water to lap at her paws. It was beautiful. Serene. The cub attempted to cast out her magic to sense if anyone else was around here, but it failed. This was no matter though, as it didn't take long for her to see that there was indeed another gembound. "Hello?" Sakhira did not consider that strangers had any potential to be dangerous. She was curious, and without hesitation, bounded up to the gelada. "It's so beautiful here isn't it?" @Wild RE: A drink of water - Wild - Mar 13 2023 Wild's drinking was interrupted by a friendly voice. She turned to look at a creature that looked like a mix between an owl, lion, and a deer. Wild could also tell it was young, a child. She offered a kind smile before speaking to the child. "Hello. Yes it is beautiful here. In fact all the caves are beautiful. My name is Wild, what's yours, young one?" Her British accent was clear in her voice. Wild was very interested in the child's mixed appearance. She knew that she would be a big gembound one day. There was no doubt about that. @Sakhira RE: A drink of water - Sakhira - Mar 13 2023 Sakhira was a bit surprised by the way Wild's voice sounded... different. Of course, every gembound she met has a different sounding voice, but this was something else. She couldn't quite describe why it was different. But it was. This was her first time meeting someone with an accent. "They are! But I have not seen them all. Yet. Have you?" There was simply so much to explore in each cave that she hadn't even been to each one yet. "I'm Sakhira. Like the wandering wind." But did wind wander? Was wind one being? Or was it multiple winds that all tread the same path over and over again? Were the same winds that formed the howling gusts of Monoceros also the very ones that formed the sea breeze tickling her feathers? "Your voice. Sounds... light?" She tried to describe what the British accent sounded like. "Are you also a collector of memories?" @Wild RE: A drink of water - Wild - Mar 14 2023 "I've seen a lot of them, but I have not seen everything the caves have to offer." Wild like the child's name. Sakhira. She complimented the young one's name. "Sakhira. That is a pretty name. You look unique you know." She took a moment to look at Sakhira's features. What beauty she held. Sakhira mentioned that Wild's name sounded light. Wild was born with that accent, and she was proud of it. "Yes, I was born with this voice." The last thing that Sakhira said intrigued Wild. It sounded arcane. "I have arcane magic. So yes, I do believe I am a collecter of memories." She hasn't truly tested her magic, but she knew what she was capable of. @Sakhira RE: A drink of water - Sakhira - Mar 14 2023 Sakhira nodded, one could never truly see everything. The caves were so vast, and held so many secrets. Her young innocence didn't realize that some secrets were not meant to be discovered. Or how dangerous it could be. "Thank you!" she feels like a lot of gembounds have been telling her she looked unique. But the cub hadn't figured out why that was yet. Weren't all gembounds different in their own ways? "I wish I had a airy voice too." Sakhira decided that she liked Wild. Especially since they seemed to share her interest in memories and magic. Arcane magic was one of her favorites, even though she did not possess it herself. "I have earth magic. I use it to sense stones. With memories." She recalled the gemstones containing life that she had found a while ago. The sphynx had taken great care to hide them away until she met a gembound who she felt could be trusted with taking care of them. "Are you also searching for gems here?" @Wild RE: A drink of water - Wild - Mar 14 2023 Wild took another drink of water as the child spoke. She then gave the child words of wisdom. "You don't need to have an airy voice. All gembounds are different and unique. And you are as unique as they come, child." When the child mentioned what type of magic she had Wild became more interested. "That is a very useful power to have. It can unlock secrets." Wild was already aware she could unlock secrets too with her arcane magic. She was determined to learn more about the caves. "No, I am not searching for gems. I just came here to get a drink of water. Are you searching for anything here?" Wild looked at Sakhira curiously. @Sakhira RE: A drink of water - Sakhira - Mar 14 2023 Sakhira watched as the gelada took a sip of the water. She was cautious about drinking from the ocean, mostly because she didn't know what could be inside of it. What if the water upset her stomach or something? It was better for her not to risk it. And it didn't exactly help that she was already quite picky about her food. She beamed at Wild's words, and thought that although she didn't have an airy voice, she did have a shiny rock on her forehead. Perhaps that's what made her unique? Either way, it was her favorite part about herself! Physically, that is. "Yes..." Sakhira didn't want to bring up the fact that at times the memories she had acquired from sensing the stones still plagued her thoughts. They had died so brutally. And she had taken it upon herself to give them another chance. All of them deserved one anyhow. And there were so many stones that didn't get another one at all. How many had been cast far into the sea, sinking to the bottom, never to be discovered again? Or buried under layers and layers of earth, forgotten? There was no way she would be able to rescue every single one. But she was trying to do what she could. "Nothing specific." The cub gazed out at the ocean for a few moments before returning her gaze to Wild. "I'm looking for gemstones. The ones that have life." she supposed that coming to Fornax to drink water made sense. It had a lot of water. It was not like puddles that ran out of water rather quickly once you started drinking them. "Have you sensed gems before?" From what she had heard, Sakhira wondered if Wild took a similar interest in such things. @Wild RE: A drink of water - Wild - Mar 15 2023 Wild nodded as Sakhira spoke, listening with care. It was obvious that since Sakhira was looking for gems with life, she planned on revivng them. When Sahkira asked her question, Wild shook her head. "No, I have never sensed gems before. I would like to though. It sounds fun, like an adventure of some sort." Wild continued to speak. "It's interesting how gems can be revived over and over. Its what makes the caves so magical." Wild loved every aspect of the caves. The caves were her home after all, and this primate was proud of it. @Sakhira RE: A drink of water - Sakhira - Mar 15 2023 "I can show you." Sakhira thought it would be a good idea to try and teach Wild how it worked. That way she wouldn't be the only one taking on the tremendous task of reviving as many stones as she could. And even if Wild wasn't able to learn, she could still help her out with collecting any they found around here. Closing her eyes, she attempted to cast out her magic to see if there were any gems around here. |
