5-star pulls - Edeltraud - May 09 2023

Edeltraud's hooves clicked on the smooth crystal. The sheep had developed--a thick silver wool growing over her black undercoat. Yet she still carried that broken necklace piece around her neck. Her sole company. Edeltraud was still alone. Vulnerable. The fact felt acerbic on her tongue. She slipped into a crystal tunnel, the closeness giving comfort. A distraction was needed, and a distraction was what Gemini gave her. A rift split the air ahead of her. Distorted and strange. Edeltraud's ears flicked forward.

Was it alive? "Hello?" She said softly. No reply. Edeltraud swallowed the cud she'd been chewing at. With slow, nervous steps she approached the rift, stretching her head out to investigate.

Just as Edeltraud stretched her head, the rift shimmered alive, the swirling growing faster and more frantic. In that same moment, a hide satchel was ejected from the rift, falling perfectly over her outstretched neck so that its thick strap was hooked around her torso. It hung from her shoulder and at her side like a messenger bag of sorts.

The satchel was tanned hide embroidered with bright yarn flowers—pink, yellow, and blue with hints of green as vines or stems—that laced its edges and made colorful patterns across its surface; even the flap that closed over the top was decorated. And though it was made of hide and had the faint smell of leather, it mostly had a sweet and earthy aroma, and its inside was littered with the remnants of flowers and herbs, suggesting it was used to collect such things. Through the scents of herbs clung frost, the smell of snow and winter air.

It fit her perfectly and snugly, though it was not tight.
