big fish out of a small pond (literally) - Icarus - May 10 2023 A zircon chrysalis cracked open, and a young jumbo koi fell out, flopping for a moment before falling into a small and dirty pond next to his chrysalis. Said koi fish swum around for a few moments in the very small space he now had found himself in. Dissatisfaction came soon after. This place was small, kind of gross in his gills, and he felt cheated. But... He had fallen from somewhere, hadn't he? Maybe he could go back to that place? He instinctively tried to use his magic to sense if there was more out there than this miserable puddle he was currently stuck in. RE: big fish out of a small pond (literally) - Icarus - May 10 2023 Suddenly he just knew there was more out there- A lot more. He did not know that he had used magic to figure this out, but he trusted this feeling. Even if he had not been certain of the existence of a world beyond as he know was, the koi fish would have proceeded down the same path regardless. He swam back and forth, thinking. And then he decided he had down too much thinking, and just tried to throw himself out of the water. Alas, though he had succeeded in getting out of the puddle, he was now flopping around on land. As it turned out, he could no breathe on land. Who would've thought that the fish couldn't breathe on land! Not him, that's for sure. Though he flopped and struggled, he preferred this seeming end over returning to the puddle. At least this way, he was free of that. And that was how a koi with barely any time to his name ending up chrysalized. [Exit to Mutation Chrysalis] |
