What is this new place?? - Iqniq - Aug 11 2015
A large sparkling ball of opal was starting to crack and wiggle in its place below the "stars" of Orion. The twinkling quartz overhead seemed like as nice a backdrop as any for the emergence of a new gembound. Iqniq was feeling more than a bit cramped in her crysalis. Every part of her body that wasn't pressed against herself was pressed against the stone around her.
The small cheetah tried to stretch out her back and the crack on the opal spread until a shard went flying with a loud pop. A bit of the soft brown fluff was visible on the back of her neck and instinct kicked in as a bit of air stirred her fur. With all her might, Iqniq stretched again and a few larger shards popped off, freeing her head and front paws. Big amber eyes blinked at the dim light and she yawned, already feeling a bit tired from the effort it had taken just to free part of her body. The rest was still somewhat trapped in the shimmery stone, but that would have to wait a minute.

As the flamingo wandered past, he let out a startled honk as the chrysalis cracked open - or rather expolded. Florence paused, before he made his way towards where the splinters of rock had came from, craning his neck all the way down to peer at the creature inside. He still kept a distance, somewhat, but he sounded cheerful nontheless.
Hello there, hun. Do you need help there?he honked, offering his entire beak to help lift the other half of the cheetah out of her stone prison.

Iqniq squeaked at the voice that spoke to her, but didn't fully understand what they had said. She had heard words muffled through the shell of her chrysalis, and even learned a few, but most had just passed over her head. Help was one she recognized, but only barely. She just knew that a blurry pink shape was either getting bigger or closer, and it was a bit scary. Her energy suddenly came back and she squirmed to move away from this strange thing that made noise. The squirming was useless though and she made very little progress, only breaking off a few small shards of the chrysalis. Her back side was still firmly stuck though, so all she did was frustrate and tire herself back out until she sat there panting. "H... h.... help?" her tiny voice repeated a word that the pink shape had said. Her short memory of dark times in her little shell told her that this word might just be of use in this situation, but she wasn't sure. She would just have to find out through trial and error. @Florence OOC: New Table :D |
