Trial and Error - Erasmus - Sep 11 2023 Before Erasmus showed their magic to Alek, they wanted to be sure it truly was their magic, not a weird coincidence. As such, they had decided to try and move an inanimate object slightly. In this case, it was a pebble. They mentally focused upon the pebble, on the direction they wished for it to move. And move it did. That definitely had to be magic, no coincidence. They gave a pleased purred at their own success. RE: Trial and Error - Erasmus - Sep 11 2023 But was moving objects all they could do? That sounded so plain for magic. Perhaps magic was simply things one could do on their own amplified? For example, Erasmus could physically move an object or mentally move an object. They wondered if speaking could be done differently with magic. Sometimes, speaking struck them as a magic of its own. Comprehension of others was a gift. So they focused on their voice, but did not open their mouth. A raspy whisper came from somewhere other than them, indefinite in words, but definitely their voice. They perked up, very pleased by this discovery. RE: Trial and Error - Erasmus - Sep 11 2023 That was definitely proof of magic working the way they thought it did. Eager to leave, they turned to exit from the place, and almost tripped over the bones left behind from the prey Alek had eaten the other day. Still focused on magic as they were, it triggered one more time. They saw an image of the prey as it had been alive, and it stopped Erasmus in their place. This... definitely was not how Erasmus had theorized magic worked. But that was all the more reason to talk to Alek about it. They darted off towards the chrysalis site that Alek was currently guarding. [Exit Erasmus] |
