Wonder - Sair - Dec 21 2023 Sair The lights had dulled and brightened a few times since Sair's awakening, and much to the worn foal's dismay, most of it had been spent running. "Speaking." Thinking. Doing. We don't know how to accept we're just a product of a chance / And less like gods but more like plants RE: Wonder - Fulgur - Dec 28 2023 The sound of large wings soaring would announce Fulgur's presence long before his massive form passed overhead, trailed by his numerous smaller companions. In truth, he might have missed Sair, if they weren't stumbling around in a cold-induced daze, and mostly dark-furred amongst the snow blown down the tunnel they'd came from.
He'd bank around, slowing to land on his wings a short distance in front of Sair. His expression is concerned, as he calls out, "Are you alright? You don't look so well." Looking up and down the little foal, Fulgur ponders, What happened to her eyes and nose? Was it the cold in Ursa? The tunnel is right here, that has to be it... @Sair RE: Wonder - Sair - Dec 29 2023 Sair Sair didn't pay much attention to the sounds from above, not that they could have made anything out of the blobs they saw through squinted eyes anyway. They just needed to catch their breath, and then they could enjoy the views this new cave had to offer. Then they could find somewhere warm. "Speaking." Thinking. Doing. We don't know how to accept we're just a product of a chance / And less like gods but more like plants RE: Wonder - Fulgur - Jan 02 2024 If there's one thing Fulgur is glad to see, is that she didn't spook and run off. But with how strained it is for Sair to speak, he wonders if she'd even get very far. At least she's awake enough to tell him what's wrong.
Either way, it would probably be best to warm her up somehow. His first instinct would have been to just wrap a wing around her, but they're smooth hide and wouldn't do much but shelter from the wind. Better than nothing, be he'd rather do more than that. Looking around, he spots a pile of Hellswan molt not far away. The downy feathers would definitely be warmer than his skin. He sweeps up a bunch with a wing, before wrapping it and the feathers around the young foal. "Is that better?" Fulgur asks in a concerned tone. His paternal instincts have definitely overtaken him. @Sair RE: Wonder - Sair - Jan 11 2024 Sair Sair wasted no time, snuggling as best they could under the feathers and hide. The feathers had been chilled from sitting on the cave floor, but they were insulating and soft. They'd provide shelter enough to regain some warmth and calm their legs, still twitching in an attempt to keep their blood flowing through constricted veins. "Speaking." Thinking. Doing. We don't know how to accept we're just a product of a chance / And less like gods but more like plants RE: Wonder - Fulgur - Jan 16 2024 The sight of the small foal snuggling in under his wings warms Fulgur's heart. His already strong parental instincts have taken him over now, and he finds himself unable to do anything but protect Sair.
"You are welcome," he tells her, his voice a deep but soothing rumble. He moves slowly, in order to keep the foal calm. Six pink eyes blink, looking into hers. At least she seems to be warming up. His gaze follows hers, when she looks to his companions as they mill about. "Ah, call me Fulgur. And these are my Flock," he explains. "They're... like my little helpers." @Sair RE: Wonder - Sair - May 05 2024 Sair
The foal's eyes were brighter now, and their teeth chattered less and less as the moments stretched on. "Help is good. Friends are good." They were a lucky one, for the few creatures they had met so far had proved much kinder than a predator could have been. "Speaking." Thinking. Doing. We don't know how to accept we're just a product of a chance / And less like gods but more like plants RE: Wonder - Fulgur - May 15 2024 He smiles at Sair ensconced underneath his wings, pink eyes warm with gentle encouragement. "Ah, yes, exploring! These caves are very big, and there is a lot to see." One of Fulgur's little Flock flutters closer to her lifted hoof, curious.
"I like exploring myself. I go to the different caves to find stories, and tell them to others. But in this cave is someone I like to help. They're known as the Tailor, and they made this bag for me," he explains, shifting to show it. "Maybe we can ask them to make them something to keep you warm!" @Sair RE: Wonder - Sair - May 16 2024 Sair Sair listened intently, curious at the ideas of stories and crafts alike. "What kind of stories?" She asked first, careful not to move her outstretched hoof and potentially scare one of the Flock away. "The Tailor? Can I be The Sair? She giggled, just elated at The Idea. The thought sent her into another giggle fit, seemingly at nothing. "Speaking." Thinking. Doing. We don't know how to accept we're just a product of a chance / And less like gods but more like plants RE: Wonder - Fulgur - May 20 2024 A good hearty laugh echos from Fulgur's throat as little Sair becomes enraptured. "Sure, you can be THE Sair," he tells her, pink eyes shining. It is so good to see this little one so much more alive.
"Well, the Tailor isn't far from here, she's just in the palace on the other side of this cave. We can go now, if you feel confident enough to walk." A wing gestures in the direction, of white stone on the far side of green gardens. "She can make things will all sorts of fabric and leather. I was more thinking of putting you in a cloak, than a bag!" he chuckles, her last comment especially amusing. He'd pull away some - not completely, in case she enjoyed being under his wings - so she could stand up if she wished. @Sair |
