[Event] BEEWARE - Game Master Dark - Apr 01 2024

Nemean sighed heavily, leaning back in her tiny chair. Said chair was duct-taped to the head of Chadsworthington Stevenson the Third, and it may or may not have blinded the golem from seeing where it was going. Probably not, since it was just made of rocks, and Nemean didn't care anyway.

"Hardly anybody SHOWED UP," she complained, loudly. (This was the third time in five minutes.) "All that work GLUING HATS TO BEES and nobody showed up." A glance at Isra told her that the room guardian was looking for a polite answer, and Nemean threw up her hands again. "COME ON, that was genius! Ugh. Nobody appreciates me here." She turned, plucking up three small cards in their envelopes and turning them this way and that. "'Acheron,' you said, right? And Lorelei. And... ugh. Imp. FINE. He's still a shit, though." She handed them to Isra, who fought back a smirk.

"The bees looked... ahh, fantastic. I'll see these sent out. Nedies has a soup on, if you'd like?" she suggested gently.

But Nemean didn't hear her. The fairy's legs were crossed, and the higher-up foot was bobbing rapidly, her face pursed in thought. "You know what-?" The thoughtful expression eased into a grin, and Isra suppressed an 'uh oh.' "Obviously they don't get rewards now. But if they still want something they can fish it outta the damn beehives! Tell them THAT!" She burst into laughter, flitting up from her chair, buzzing into the air with a small trail of stardust.

Chadsworthington Stevenson the Third spun in a slow, confused circle below her. "I gotta go make preparations."

"...Are you going to go stick things into beehives-?" Isra asked, staring at her with bemusement.

"No! I mean, yes, but more complicated than that! -Yes, really. Shut up." She paused, bobbing in the air. "I'll call it TRICK or TREAT!"

Isra coughed politely. "I think that's taken. For the, ah, autumn holiday." She was trying not to laugh, again, being overly proper and kind, and Nemean scowled and pointed a tiny finger at her.

"It's--that's--...FINE! I'll call it... BEEWARE!" She spread her hands through the air, the word appearing before her in a huge golden sparkle of light before falling away. Isra started laughing.

"I like it. I'll get the thank you cards sent out. And the invitations for 'BEEWARE.' Have fun; I'll have some drinks ready if you want, when you get back."

"Bet your ass I will," the fairy muttered, spinning off into the fields.

Thank you cards have been sent to @Lorelei, Imp and Acheron, as follows:

'It is with deep regret that I must apologize for the cancellation of 'BEE MINE: 14 Day Beeancé!' (The bees are very sad.)

I wanted to extend my PERSONAL THANKS for attending. Even though Imp sucks.

Thank you.

- Master Nemean, quite frankly the best"

The thank-you cards are filled with gold-and-pink glitter, which just so happens to glow in the dark.

____________

For everyone else, invitations are being sent throughout the cave as follows:

'SINCE NONE OF YOU LOSERS TURNED UP TO BEE MINE, I HAVE A NEW GAME FOR YOU.

I call it, BEE-WARE.

Go stick your grubby paws into beehives. Either you'll find treasure or you'll get stung to shit. Have fun, jerks!

- Love Nemean'

For those who cannot read, there is a crudely drawn set of instructions at the bottom. It includes a possibly confusing drawing of an audience crossed out in front of a theatre, then paw-hands fishing around in a beehive, which splits with arrows pointing to two other images: a shining treasure, and swollen, stung paws.

For April Fool's 2024, which will run until April 7th, characters may post attempting to search beehives (of Rainbow Bumblebugs or Oily Bumblebugs) for treasure. Any roll type may be used. A Failure or Crit Fail will result in bee stings. These hurt but are not dangerous, but the bees will chase the character away from the hive for one day before they can try again.

A Success should be GM tagged for a treasure roll.

All participants, regardless of rolls, may then post in Update Me to claim either Fool Feet or Fabulous Banana.

Fool Feet
Low Intensity Transformation. The user imbues their method of locomotion with foolish sounds: those that walk will find their feet honk with each step; those that float or fly will sound like wheezing balloons; those that crawl will sound like the inhale and exhale of a screaming rubber chicken; and those that swim will sound like drowning, wailing horns. A terrible spell for an ambush.

Fabulous Banana
Low Intensity Transformation. Once summoned, eating this tasty, magical banana will turn the consumer radiant and sparkly for a short time. It is also very nutritious.

Both spells will also be available for purchase in the Magicka shop throughout the duration of the event.

Characters are welcome to join but really, there's nothing more in this thread; why would you?
