Anala had spent a long time training, and after that a long time hunting, and after that... Well, she really just needed to lay down.
Unfortunately for her, there was no rest for the filthy. Between the aching burns on her paws, nose and tail, and the layer of charred fur and dirt that stuck to those burns, what she really needed was a nice, cold bath. Cetus had mist, sure, and some water... but the air was just so thick. After enjoying the magic-strengthening effects and clear air of Polaris, she wasn't too sure she wanted to head back there, so she took a left, back to the cave she had been born in. She had yet to see the stranger that had greeted her first breath again, and she wondered if he might be around.
She sniffed around for a moment and spent some time listening to the water crashing down before she made her way to the edge of the lagoon and... promptly backed up again. It appeared to have no bottom, stretching on and on and on into darkness well beyond her comfort level. Sure, she swam... a little. She could paddle well enough to keep her head above the water most days, but between the depth and the waves coming from the waterfall, she decided it was best if she paddled around one of the smaller, albeit connected, ponds. Hopefully, they were also home to less scary things. Had there been eyes peering back at her from the lagoon? She did not have the energy for a fight.
Shaking off her nerves, and a concerning amount of dirt, she waded in.

OOC Notes: For clarity's sake she is not diving into the lagoon, but instead a smaller connected pond created from the waterfall's mist because I don't want her drowning today thank you :)

Thankfully, Anala found her fears unfounded as she began to swim, her fatigue not so evident anymore as the cold water hit her skin. She found it strange that she had been born here, considering that the only magic she could summon was meant to burn and destroy when the waters here were anything but hot. It was nice, though, she thought; to have somewhere to cool down. It was the balance all things needed, wasn't it?
Anala let herself become lost in thought, enjoying the relief, even if it was temporary. It wasn't bad enough to crystalize, thankfully. She didn't know what she would have done if she had to miss even more cycles and lose even more training time. Maybe swimming would prove to be good exercise? It felt easier on her muscles than running, that was for sure.

Little Pudge had just woken up a few days ago. He didn't really remember falling asleep, but he thought it might have been a long time ago because when he woke up he was back in his rock!!! Did he die and be reborn? Because that would be really cool. Although he didn't feel any particular difference between Pudge 1 and Pudge 2, except maybe that Pudge 2 was a little bigger (he wasn't).

But it was back to daily life as a sentient goldfish in Origin Cave. Eating some little things, munching on other things, sleeping, swimming, and sometimes playing in the waterfall, which was not normal goldfish behavior but hey, it can get boring for a guy with no friends!

Well...he had friends. They were all fish and none of them talked back.

But then one day something that was decidedly not a fish came wading right into the pool that he spent his resting time in - connected to the lagoon, but away from all the waves the waterfall made. Having never truly learned any sense of fear, he immediately approached, curious and excited. It wouldn't be easy to see him - he was quite little, after all, and Anala probably had other things on her mind.

...She would probably feel the gentle tickle of him gently poking at her burns, fascinated by the burnt bits and dirt that was floating off. And all the bubbles.

Pudge wasn't the only one whose attention was caught. What had initially appeared to be a round and smooth boulder at the water's edge wriggled, before a pair of heads perked up. Lorelei's bright blue eyes beam as she stretches herself out.

She grins wide, eager to meet someone new. "Hello? Hello!" Lorelei barks, voice as loud and clear as ever. Though she does miss Pudge's small shape drifting in the water.

Anala's attention was first caught by the tickling sensation on her paws. She had to fight the urge to jump, to kick and flail and aim for the water's edge, but she did fight it. It's only some weed, or some lesser fish. Just keep swimming... She took a deep breath and dipped her head below the calm waters, sure enough coming face to face with the fish. She smiled, to herself she thought, before she resurfaced.

Anala then had to fight the urge to flail again as what she had thought was a rock opened its eyes and spoke. There really was no rest for her today, was there? "Hello!" She called, heaving a sigh of relief that nearly caused her head to dip back underwater. She never did claim to be a strong swimmer, but she wasn't quite willing to get out of the soothing pool just yet. "I wouldn't drink from this pond for a while, if I were you. I don't imagine you'd much like the taste of char." She chuckled, continuing her short laps around the pond. The water would filter itself in time, allowing the dirt to settle at its depths, but for now a small cloud of dust and debris had gathered around the wolf. She hoped the little fish didn't mind.

"Who are you?" She questioned as she circled around again. "I'm Anala." Her voice was tired, but friendly.

Pudge was enjoying poking at some of the drifting char that was rising in the water when, all of a sudden, the wolf dipped its head in the water and he turned, finding himself right at its nose, staring right into its eyes. The eyes that were about as big as his entire body.

There was a beat. And then- "WAAAAAAAHHH!!!" The little fish screamed his little heart right out and fumbled back, tumbling over and over in the water in his flash of panic, trying to turn and right himself to dart away quickly before it snapped its huge jaws over his body. And he eventually did, swiftly swimming a few feet away before glancing back and realizing. It wasn't following. In fact, it had pulled its head out of the water and was casually just swimming and talking. He could hear voices above, distorted by the water, but voices all the same.

He stared for a minute, holding still in the water, before he realized what this meant. Greater Gembound! In his pool!! How exciting!

He immediately rushed forward and surface, heralding his position with a small celebration of bubbles that came rising out of the water, sparkling under the light and popping in the air with light bursts. A moment later, his tiny goldfish head peeped out of the water. "Hi! Hello!" he called, interrupting whatever conversation was happening. "You are in my pool! Wow, that's great! I haven't had anyone that can talk in my pool in a long time!"

She shuffle-flops a bit closer to the waters edge, sitting where the waves lap against her, nice and cool. "Hello Anala! I am Lorelei! Pleased to meet you!" A pair of toothy grins smile back happily.

She blinks at the screaming noise, distorted and warbly under the water, and wonders where exactly that is coming from. Did Anala see something underwater? "Is something wrong?" Lorelei asks, but there's only a moment for Pudge shows himself.

A head turns to the little fish, and she idly thinks, So small... he could be swept away so easily... That's probably why he stays in this pool. "Oh! Hello! Hiya! I'm over here!" she calls out, in case he hadn't noticed her sitting by the water's edge.

The water-muffled scream caught Anala off guard just as it had Lorelei, and she backpedalled as much as one could backpedall given she was swimming. There was a little reason to, though, as the goldfish popped their head above the surface.
"I don't know if I scared you or you scared me more! But hello! I'm Anala!" She spoke after a deep breath and sigh, trying to steel her shattered nerves. "And this is Lorelei. Lovely to meet you as well, by the way!" She laughed a little, addressing them both in turn. Maybe it would be safest if she made her way to the shore, now, considering how many gembound seemed willing to scare her today!
"Do you not travel to other caves often?" She mused to the fish as she climbed up beside the seal. There were underwater passages between at least some of the caves, weren't there? She'd seen some lessers use them. She left some space between herself and the seal, considering they had only just met. "And you, Lorelei, did I wake you?"
She was fighting a yawn herself, given how much time she had spent on her paws recently. At least her fur was clean and her paws were cooled, her front limbs still submerged in the pond. A nap could wait, at least for a little while.

Pudge stared at them, big, buggy eyes wide with delight, carefully treading the water so that he wasn't swept away by the ripples the wolf was making. "Hi! Lorelei, Anala! I'm Pudge, oh I'm so excited! I haven't talked to anyone in a long time!" He really couldn't remember the last - had it been a passing stranger, or that glitter cat that had saved him from being stranded?

Didn't matter now - days since Pudge last talked has been reset to 0!

"Sorry for screaming. I don't often get people in my pool. You startled me! But its okay! Anyone can swim in my pool, I don't mind!" He did a small circular lap around his immediate vicinity, perhaps a fish version of the zoomies. But anyways, one of them had said something that interested him. He popped his head out of the water again, staring at the wolf. "What are other caves?"

She's more than happy to let Anala come ashore, shifting away slightly to give her space - even if Anala was already keeping her distance. "Oh, no, it's fine. I hadn't meant to take a nap, I just kinda spaced out, and Whoops! Asleep!" she chuckles, a good-natured smile on her face.

Though she turns (one head) to Pudge. "Well, happy to stop by." He's so small... She can't help but wonder how the thing hasn't been snatched away. Though she tilts her head as his last remark. "You haven't been outside of Pisces? Outside of this room?"
