So their first fight against a spider had over all succeeded, but it had not necessarily gone well, for all that Mirrikh's skill had allowed them to escape uninjured. They did not leave without humiliation, however, considering the ways they could have done better to not get stuck in the web again.
Not long after their hunt against the moonstone-having spider, they had decided to search for another spider of the same kind. One with a stone, of course, to allow themself to justify the hunt, but it was still definitely a hunt.
They searched through Cetus, looking for a spider nearby first, before they considered widening their search.
For a moment, they almost miss it, the spider's stone dark in coloration against the glowing body. An onyx stone, perhaps? It is scuttling on the ground, having been away from its web.

This time, they tried to take into account the direction of the wind before they shook the paralytic powder from their wings.
And this time, thanks to that, the paralytic powder ended up landing on the spider most assuredly. It moved for a bit longer, but the contact-toxin was fast acting. They grinned, pleased with their easy success for now.
It was frozen in place by the paralytic, just barely twitching.

Mirrikh was feeling particularly merciful, and so they decided to go straight tearing of its head. No need to draw this hunt out when their strategy had succeeded so far.
With a vicious tear of stonerot laced teeth, the spider was done for. Mirrikh then extracted the stone. It was, indeed, an Onyx.
Victory felt sweet, even if they tasted nothing, lacking tastebuds.
This should be enough, they decided. Two stones was better than one, and if they for some reason broke when Mirrikh was ready to give life, they could always come back.
