[BATTLE!] Anala vs. September - Dueling with a Dino! - Anala - Jun 12 2024

Now this is the event Anala was excited about! She'd been waiting somewhat patiently all day, and she was even more excited now that she didn't feel bad for the rat! It had gone home (she hoped) and Ragnar seemed just as eager as she was to participate in the day's battle portion.
Anala approached her section beside the stage, and Ragnar quickly hopped up into place without prompting. The skrungler made a show of it, circling his side of the stage and hissing at anyone nearby. He wasn't actually a danger to anyone gathered, given his nature. The lesser he would face, though? Well, only time would tell. Anala hoped they got a good pairing.
Speaking of, the wolf turned to face the gathered crowd of faces. Not one of them was familiar, but she had only met a few gembounds in her life. "September, are you ready?!" She called out a playful challenge, tapping her feet on the ground in excitement. Ragnar mimicked her tapping, the clicking of claws on the platform increasing in tempo the longer they waited.

As soon as his fight was announced, September bounced forward, blood already starting to run hot from all the excitement. Behind him came the slower, larger beast that was the meadow deer pulled randomly for him. It was much more collected then the young sambar, but the crowds seemed to be sanding down the edges of its nerves. It snorted as it followed, shaking out its mane, arriving just behind him.
September glanced back, eyes sparkling, and then at his opponent. A wolf with a small creature as its familiar - easy enough for a big beast like the meadow deer!
The meadow deer, "Hooves", stared at him for a moment, before turning with another snort. Taking that as the signal to start right away, its muscles tensed as it pawed briefly at the ground, and then in an exploded into movement - a full force charge, antlers down, straight at the skrunkler.

Well someone is eager!" Anala laughed as the deer charged in, and she urged her skrungler to match the opponent's energy. It was not a battle to the death, so she hoped they both would do their best without really hurting each other. She had faith in her partner, and she made sure he knew it across the link.
"Where do you hang around?" She attempted to make some small talk during the battle, an open offer to gauge the others' interest. "Have you been north? I was thinking of heading past Ursa on my next big adventure!" She added with a smile, only offering half her attention to the greater deer and keeping the other half on her companion.
Ragnar took a tumble, thrown off balance by the sudden charge, but attempted to regain his footing. Anala applauded him as he did, and the skrungler seized the opportunity to catch a nibble of the meadow deer's side. It would sting, and potentially release some of its hallucinogenic venom into their system, but it was nothing deadly or otherwise too violent for the nature of the game.
