Miss self-sufficient - Daphne - Apr 02 2025

Her adventures had led her to a new place, and after a moment of exploring, she was met with a rather beautiful area, her eyes widening when she saw the large glowing crystals that reminded her of fire flickering and really all she could do was sit there in awe. She took a few steps forward, looking around and really not looking where she was walking before suddenly she let out a grunt as she bumped into something, suddenly falling back onto her ass, blinking her eyes in confusion. The silvered hatchling had his necklace, had his candee some master gave him. Something new, something different. And guess what? He wanted to find more. To search more about his power. To repay the help he had received. A front paw raised, he tried hard to concentrate. A small beam of light guided his way, to a red clump of crystals. They emitted a faint red.
Zephiran's eyes beamed with excitement. Shaking off his paw, the light didn't last much longer. Emitting to nothing. His interest became the ruby-colored glowing crystal. A flicker of his tail, he moved his head down and went to grab it with his jaw. Tugging back and forth. Standing his claws against the stones, pulling.
Ears pinned on the back of his head, even aimed to use his claws to try and break it free. Alas, it wasn't as easy as he thought.
Something bumped into him, causing him to clench his jaw. Pulling back onto the crystal. Enough to break it free!
THUD!
Zephiran flew backwards, only a little bit from prying the crystal. It dropped from his jaw. And cracked. A thin line across its exterior. A silent huff, a freeze. His paws immediately reached for his necklace. Trying to feel for it, to make sure it didn't crack too.

She yelped softly as she stumbled back, instantly glancing over at what, or rather who, she just bumped into. At first, she scrambled to her feet, ready to defend herself or run if needed, only to instantly change her demenour when she saw who was in front of you. Her gaze flicked to the gem on the ground, not even really noticing that it was cracked and moved to sniff it, cocking her head to the side curiously.

"It is a gemstone.. I think? Or a gem. I do not know.."
Zephiran scrambled to his own paws. Swiftly moving forward to place his paw over the gem. Gently rolling it around. He didn't really know what he was going to do with it. It was just pretty. He enjoyed keeping it.
"I dunno I've been trying to find things like this."
And this cave was glorious for the amount of gems that were here.. so many beautiful colors. Yet he proudly wore his necklace, even if it was a little loose around his neck.
"What about you? Whatcha been doin?"

She smiled slightly and wagged her tail gently behind her, her body calm and gentle. Well it's really pretty, if you want I can help you find more.Maybe she could also find herself a few things to take back to her home, though she wasn't sure what could be useful or not. Maybe just the shiny things she would give him.
I found a few things when I first hatched, got them stashed in a den I was using. Maybe I can show you sometime.She smiled for a moment before glancing down at the gem thing that he held. It was beautiful, but not something she would wear.

It was a relief to find someone he knows. He hadn't actually walked into danger yet. Finding more sounded fun. Enjoyable at least. Something to do with someone else.
"Well, this cave seems to have lots of these. It took a lot to break this one free though."
At least he didn't have the paws or strength to break it. Not easily as something else might. Maybe they could find spares lying around though.
"I don't have much, but I have been taking some things for when I do find a den."
Zephiran wasn't even sure where he wanted to live. So much to explore and see. Who knows what kind of treasures he could find before a den. Hopefully not too much he can't carry.

She cocked her head to the side for a moment, flicking her tail behind her, thinking for a moment. Finding pretty gems and unearthing shiny new things wasn't a requisite to a fun adventure, but it certainly had it pluses.
Do you want to search for more together? Maybe find some that aren't as deeply rooted that this one was?She stood up and smiled for a moment, thinking about den ideas.
Do you have any thoughts for dens or where you would like to make your home?
If you find something you can't carry, you can always bury it somewhere and then grab it later.She giggled softly, flicking her tail behind her. She wanted to help him, but at the same time it would help give her a reason to explore and chat with her new friend.

"Oh! Yeah, let's look!" Zephiran would find more. To bring to a den. Set them up nice and pretty, he thinks. Right? The next question clicked in his mind. If she followed, he would begin to look around at some of the other clusters of gems. Seeing if any of them would be neat to get ahold of.
Where would he set up? Probably somewhere nice right? Nice cozy location. But hidden, maybe? A nice cozy cavern would be nice. Only if there's enough room to organize his stuff.
"Hm, I dunno. I saw some spots that look cool. But nothing that cool yet." Zephiran answered, a shift to leap upon his paws. "I might! I've been taking trips already."
From cave to cave, he's slowly made his stuff to stay with him. It took him longer to get to places, but he didn't have to settle in a forced spot. Zephiran didn't like being restricted.

She smiled slightly as him, a large grin spreading across her features. That sounds good, we can gather a few more and then see about maybe finding you a good den, or even a few good hiding spots.
She lowered her head to the ground and began to search around the area, looking for anything good enough, shiny enough to catch her eye. When she finally did come across something, it was so far in the dirt that she almost didn't see it, having to do a double take.
Oh, there's something here.
She began to paw at it, pushing away the dirt to reveal a beautiful glowing crystal that had broken off and had gotten buried under the dirt. She turned to look at him, cocking her head to the side. What do you think?

He grabbed the broken gemstone. Yes he was still going to take it. Something could deem useful with this red glowing gem. Silvered pup followed after his friend. Maybe a little too close.
While he tried doing the same, digging around with his paws. Gazing at the barren dirt. There was nothing here that spoke to him. Or anything that caught his eye. When Daphne called out to him, he shook the dirt off and happily trotted over.
A gemstone. One that definitely caught his eye. Silver tail tapped against the stones around him. A bright smile crept to his jaws.
"I quite like that one! Yes!" Words mumbled in his mouth from holding onto the broken gemstone.
