[ Hatching ] Don't Slip - Andlát - Apr 07 2025 Water dripped slowly down the points of jutting stones and other rocky bodies, hitting the ground rather methodically as the droplets pooled in between the rocky ridges. The world was hush and quiet, with the hum of.. Well, nothing. The silence was almost deafening, even though there was surely life nearby. Quiet, rhythmic thudding echoes around the rocks, bouncing off stone into the opener parts of the cave. Wedged between a jagged, out-facing stone and a slick slope, a small Chrysalis, almost glowing in the darkness of the crevice it was shoved into, formed small, webbed cracks. The chrysalis was green, and see through, though the inner parts were foggy. Inside of the chrysalis, a small gembound, a civet, scrabbled at the stone. Small paws and claws created grooves in the soft gemstone chrysalis, expanding the spider-webcracking to the base of the misshapen sphere. With the final thwack of a shoulder, the rock broke open, and out poured its contents- Goop, and an animal. The civet immediately rose to its forepaws, its legs braced against the slick slope that led down to water, as the gloop made a sickly squelching sound as it hit the accumulation of droplets. It panted, seemingly having exerted all of its strength as it had been trying to escape its chrysalis, and let out a small.. Meow? Nearly a meow, but also nearly a bark. Its eyes opened slowly as it peered out at the world with a shaken expression. "Speaking" "Thoughts" Normal Text RE: [ Hatching ] Don't Slip - Daphne - Apr 15 2025 Daphne Harmon
She had simply been wandering, finding a lagoon to get something to drink out of. Lowering herself, she lapped at the water for a moment, mostly laying on her stomach with her paws under her. As she lapped at the liquid, her ears flicked at the sound of.... something. It was almost a meow but also not. She lifted her head for a moment and hesitated for a moment, trying to pinpoint where and what the noise was coming from. She sniffed at the air for a moment, slowly rising to her feet as she barely caught the scent of another, though not wolf like her. Slowly, she traveled around the lagoon until the scent got stronger and only then, would her eyes flick upon a stranger, a rather small creature like she had been not that long ago. She hadn't met anyone smaller than her, and figured they had just hatched. Not wanting to startle them, she let out a soft call to announce herself, keeping her body loose and relaxed, remaining in the open and far enough away to ease any concerns. @Andlát RE: [ Hatching ] Don't Slip - Andlát - Apr 15 2025
Andy's head swiveled towards the echoing noise, the vibration of it in the air making his neck fur stand on point. He opened his mouth, searching for a response. The thing... that had made that sound had simply made a noise. It was not words- Did Andy even know what a word was? RE: [ Hatching ] Don't Slip - Daphne - May 16 2025 Daphne Harmon
She offered him a smile when she first saw him, though that smile quickly faded as she saw him slip and fall in between two rocks, right into the water filled crevices. Instantly she gasped and rushed forward, careful on the wet rocks to not fall in on top of him. She was careful to not let the loamy soil carry her down into the small crevice as well. She would be fine, but landing on him would not be.Hang on!She called out as she carefully balanced on the rocks, leaning down to try and grab ahold of his scruff and pull him out, hoping that he didn't fight her too much. If she was able to get a hold of him, she would plop him down on solid ground before coming to stand beside him, nose down and sniffing at him, trying to check on him. Hey, you okay? She hesitated for a moment, sniffing at him and pawing at him for a moment. He wasn't responsive, and she wasn't a healer, so she really didn't know what to do. Hell, she didn't even know if he was alive or not. It seemed the coruscating water had done its damage before she could stop it. |
