[EVENT] Unbound - Origin Cave - May 29 2025

Where long ago the caves had shifted, leaving large boulders and slabs of stones protruding from the natural cave wall of Orion, something seemed to move. It wasn’t noticeable, not really, but then the sound of cracking and creaking echoed from the stones, a shift in the rocks, and then…

A pulse of energy, like a low punch to the gut, seemed to boom from the stone wall. Like a sudden drop turning the stomach and the feeling of vertigo, felt by anyone that happened to be close by. Cracks appeared in the rocks, and those dark crevices around where the stones met the wall began to glow red. Something was shifting within, moving and awakening.

Characters may take note of or investigate this strange occurrence. This event will continue on June 5th.

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - Titivilus - May 29 2025

A few days after its "escape" from Tunnel T, the Train can be found in Orion—4 caves away! As it traveled, it appeared to favor long, connected, clear paths. Where there was none, it seemed to prefer minimal effort to clear a path for itself. It kept its "tire" tentacles mostly tucked away underneath itself, not taking the routes that would induce them to stray too far out. Perhaps would have been uncomfortable to let them do so? Or perhaps... the train was shy?

Regardless, the train was here now. In Orion, its path slows; it takes the harder paths, navigating through significant rubble to reach various buildings—or at least the remnants of buildings. It stops in front of various places and just... "stares" out facelessly, the pattern on its skin unwavering from a bright, limey green. It is similar to when a dog or a cat looks very intensely at nothing in particular. It is unclear if its jaunting pace suggests an expression of interest in anything it "sees".

When the energy pulse blooms through the wall, the train very obviously reacts to it. It swings its whole around, wasting no time or motion in the process of approaching the source. When it finally reaches the luminous red pimple in the wall, it halts completely. A pattern begins to appear on frontmost wall (henceforth referred to as a "face"): a facsimile of jack-o-lantern style smile. Two upturned "eyes" and a crooked crescent moon, in traffic cone orange. On its side, in a dark, legible purple (legible to those who could read it), was written:

ᚹᛖᛚᚲᛟᛗᛖ

ᛐᛁᛐᛁᚡᛁᛚᚢᛊ×ᛁᛊ ᚨᛏ×ᚤᚮᚢƦ ᛌᛂᚱᚡᛁᛌᛂ

(OOC note: I have changed up titi's runes so that they are easier to translate to english if you want to. there's still a little bit to be decoded, however. also to anyone who knows runes, i Know these are used in a way that completely botches any existing rune language. the Problem is that the one learnt from Stray does not have any official runes so we've gotta make it up as we go!)

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - Genghis - Jun 03 2025

His adventures recently had been simple, exploring the caves and finding new areas to explore. In his explorations though, he had never come across this before. Well, any of this really.

The first thing he noticed was a... train... thing, but he wasn't going to make a big deal about it. However, what really caught his attention was glowing wall, shifting and moving under the stone. He raised an eyebrow as he sniffed at it, taking a step back as he regarded the other creature that had stumbled upon this. Any idea what this is? He asked gently, curiosity in his tone. He wasn't going to make some flimsy excuse as to what he wanted to know, or come up with a reason to get more information. No, he was just going to ask straight up, and go from there.

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - September - Jun 03 2025

With the wind as you fly away
Give a smile from your lips and say
"I am free! Yes, I'm free!"

He definitely did feel the pulse of magic from where he'd been wandering Orion. It was like someone had just kicked the shit out of his stomach out of nowhere. The deer stumbled back, just righting himself in time, and then taking off before his brain had truly caught onto anything. Straight towards the source. A sense of curiosity and heroism spurred him ever-forward. If this was a threat, he would handle it. If it was something of interest, he would go to see.

He arrived just after the first two, his canter slowing to a trot until he was right up against the wall, the red glow illuminating and bouncing off his golden scales. Curious. He got close, until he was right up against the rocks, and glanced back. "What happened?" It was bordering on accusatory, but from the curious expressions on the dog at least (he could not tell what the hell the other thing even was, so, no expression to read there), he figured they didn't know either and had come looking just like he had.

He raised a hoof and touched it to the glowing rocks and a pulse of magic bounced into the stones, causing a bit of a shake-up of the sitting pile of boulders and slabs. "Hello?" came his follow-up. "Is there someone in there?"

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - Moros - Jun 04 2025

The wafting energy was painful, yes. But it also was a beacon, and Moros came to the gleaming red light, a moth to the flame. Orion was her Overseer's domain after all, and any change must be reported back to Tectus as quickly as possible.

Fluttering, she struggles to get close, but she is determined. Landing at the edge of the breach, she'd reach out with her magic, in the hopes of seeing the before, if the wall remembers what lies behind it.

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - Olixeus - Jun 04 2025

Olixeus Draeven

The hatchling had heard some sort of low commotion. To his.. interest, he peeked around the tunnel. A pulsing sensation, a large heartbeat? The dragon came to, there were a few creatures here already. A dog, a train?, and a horse. Some things he was not sure what they truly were.

Curiosity got the best of him, claws clicked against the ground as he approached. His tail swaying, tucking his wings down at his side. Bright blue eyes gazed to the wall.

"Wouldn't you… not.. get close? If attacks?” Olixeus's words were short, choppy, uneven in weight. He didn't understand everything yet. But he went to move by the creature, his stance awkward. Front claws pressed against the stones. Now he was wondering what that could have been.

"Speech looks like this." @September

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - Cain - Jun 04 2025

Cain was on a mission. Quite an important one, all things considered, but it wasn't going to ignore the gaggle of gathered Gembounds that happened to interrupt it on its journey. Typically when more than a couple gems gathered in one place, it meant something was happening... That probably was important to pay some note to.

The Overseer flitted over the group, peering down from above at the strange glowing crack in the wall.

Hm.

It reached for its magic, a basic, easy spell, and felt a sharp jolt of pain-- it spasmed through its wing and disrupted its holding pattern, sending it falling into a crumpled heap upon the "Train"-thing. It was not a gentle landing. A hiss of annoyance sputtered from its lips as it scrambled, claws fully extended, to take purchase on this large, strange gembound and gain some footing.

Hopefully everyone else was too distracted by whatever was going on in the wall to notice. Hibernation had not been kind of Cain. At least his fellow Overseer wasn't present to witness such a pathetic fumble.

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - Juggernaut - Jun 04 2025

Mother's orders were to avoid Canis for the time being, and Juggernaut was eager to oblige. But it allowed itself a brief excursion to the surrounding caves, just to give itself some space if anything - though the notion was odd. Juggernaut was not a creature that self-isolated, not until recently. But it'd had episodes, several, and considering that the arrival of the new litter was fast approaching, he thought it wise to prepare in advance.

He would be their care-giver, after all, second to Mother. The thought was... Well, he'd learned what happened when he explored these feelings too deeply. It would not be productive.

The Juggernaut did not think often about its organs, aside from the brain - an awareness of his connection to his family and Mother was comfort enough. He did not enjoy noticing he had a stomach too, as his digestive system roiled with the odd vertigo.

He alone would have to investigate. He would come back safe - he had to, now.

Juggernaut would not be the only one, and likely not the first at the scene. In anticipation of this, and of the face he'd be recognised, he decided to make an impression. He would remind these Gembound of the grace of his faction, of the beauty inherent to Mother's design.

It floated down from above, the number of its wings multiplied by shimmering white copies trailing. He collided with the grown again with a less-than-elegant thud, studying the glow behind the rubble with all of his closest eyes.

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - Galleon - Jun 04 2025

Galleon's journey to Pegasus was a slow one, and for once she was relieved by that. She didn't have to worry about the strain--last legs took care of that. The only strain she felt was the welcome soreness from a well fought bout with Labradorite. Her path inevitably took her through Orion, and what a lucky time to travel here. Travelling on last legs was a privation of her ability to feel vibrations, but Galleon could hear a crowd forming. The giant flying white billboard helped with that a ton, of course.

With a quick command, Galleon directed Last Legs to follow those voices. It seemed wary to do so, pawing at the ground with a...foot. But, Last Legs capitulated after some coaxing. Galleon was rewarded with an ominous sight: a collection of gembound surrounding a hole in the wall. She took note of the crab and the deer most of all. Not because she knew them, not anything about them, but rather because she assumed they'd put up the most fight due to their size. She also took notice of the train, of course, but she would need a good long moment to both parse that thing and realize it was sentient. As Last Legs drew her closer to the gathering, she realized that the wall...it was glowing. It pulsed gently for a light as violent as that red. Her vents shot out a surprised hiss.

"Anyone got 'n idea of whats going on?" She said.

RE: [EVENT] Unbound - Tectus - Jun 05 2025

At first, the Overseer responded slowly - the pulse of magic was felt, of course, but she assumed it was just some gembound fighting or the Three Kings fucking around. After all, Pride and his people were in the area too. Perhaps that was their doing.

But then it occurred to her the direction that it had come from. And a sliver of an idea formed in her head. It couldn't be...

She didn't think further, she just ran, as fast as her short legs could carry her. Her presence was heralded by her loud, massive steps shaking the stones as she approached the landslide, her heart jumping in her chest at the sight of the red glow. She had come here early on, after she'd awoken, and she'd assumed the one inside had perished long ago. But apparently she was wrong.

What that meant, she didn't know.

Her eyes scanned the rocks and zeroed in on the small green dot, illuminated by the red light. She hissed under her breath and leaned forward over the group. "Bloodstone T-One, get off! Quick!" The rocks were trembling - they were going to collapse at any moment.

Perhaps if this was any other moment, she would have taken more note of the Drone as well, but her focus and attention were solely on the rock wall. Her muscles were tensed and ready. "Be wary," she growled to the gathering. "This could be dangerous."
