Pass before my eyes with curiosity - Moonsetter - Aug 04 2025
He was laying down in the middle of the tunnel, his vacant eyes focused on the area in front of him. He was concentrating, even as nothing really seemed to be happening. RE: Pass before my eyes with curiosity - Valethyr - Aug 05 2025 It was easy to become irritated with the same location, day in, day out. Valethyr went through periods of intense discontent, despite finding familiarity in the dark, murky area that was Draco. Tunnel G was becoming more and more interesting to the valkhound. Soon, it knew it would not be able to resist its call, and they would be forced to return with a hunt. Failure was not an option. So, she lingered. Sparring where they could, practicing what magic they knew, listening to whoever seemed important or wise. Crouched close to the sharp, oozing walls, Valethyr inhaled sharply as a new scent reached them. For once, it did not carry the scent of the Chaos Forge. Immediately curious, he rose to his full height to search for this new gembound. Letting the newcomer's scent wash over its tongue, it contemplated it for a moment. After all, it was the first non Chaos Forge smell he had ever encountered. Musing for a minute, he decided to attempt to hide his approach. To be silent was a huge advantage, even at his large size. Though, compared to most valkhounds in the Forge, it felt like it was of average size. The squelch of the ground beneath their massive form betrayed him almost immediately. Valethyr winced as the other gembound came into sight, attempting to brush its very poor stalking off, though it didn't work very well. While he had risen to his adult height, he was still rather immature. The new gembound was, irritatingly, absolutely massive. More than double its length, though it looked like it also had a mask, just like Valethyr. His eye blinked at the loner, quivering with anticipation. "You are not Chaos Forge." It pointed out, unable to help themselves. Was this normal, or was this some sort of... visitor? Vargas had not mentioned anything of those. @moonsetter RE: Pass before my eyes with curiosity - Moonsetter - Aug 26 2025
A snarl escaped him as he quickly noticed another around him, lowering his body as he tried to blend into the shadows, but apparently he was too caught off guard that his magic backfired on him and instead of shrouding him into darkness, blinded him instead. @Valethyr RE: Pass before my eyes with curiosity - Valethyr - Oct 07 2025 Valethyr blinked. What a strange reaction. The stranger stumbled backwards, casting a spell that flashed a sudden bright light. He covered his eye with a wing in an instant, but the lone gembound ended the spell as soon as he started it, thankfully. Valethyr only had one eye. She would rather keep it than lose it. Fixing their wings, they gave the massive creature an unimpressed look. He wasn't sure what the other intented to happen, but it seemed he was as caught off guard as Valethyr. Perhaps the spell backfired. The valkhound resisted the urge to ask. It didn't matter in the scheme of things. Besides, it was more concerned with the utter lack of personal space this gembound had, moving closer to sniff Valethyr. Scoffing, he ruffled his feathers, attempting to move backwards. How rude! Even for a gembound used to close quarters in Draco, this was taking it a bit too far. "No, Chaos Forge- would you mind?" Taking a few exaggerated steps backwards, though not so much so their back would be pressed up against the warm, wet walls of the room, they smoothed their feathers back down again. Being inspected like that by such a large creature sent a spike of discomfort through their gut. He was supposed to be in control here, not the other way around. "What are you doing here?" Valethyr continued, more interested in continuing with the other gembound's interrogation than whatever he had in mind. @moonsetter |
