Two lanky kids duke it out - Seeker - Jul 24 2026 Seeker was... new to this. Having hatched from its chrysalis just long enough to figure out it didn't like whatever cave it was in, it had made the quick decision to get the hell out of there and to somewhere safe. This was instinctual. Most things were, at this young age, when they were the size of a young kitten though much lankier than one, and more akin to a ferret. So they picked one direction that looked like it led to shelter and headed that way. It took a big chunk of luck and an even bigger chunk of time before they stumbled into Tunnel F. A tug of the familiar (but how could anything be familiar, when they knew nothing?) as tree branches curled and intertwined with one another, forming a tunnel that breathed and lived. Seeker scampered from shadow to shadow, avoiding the crystals that emitted an all-too revealing light, and eventually found an alcove amongst the trees that they squeezed themselves into. Vegetation pressed against their flanks, though they had room to turn around completely and stretch their stubby legs. This spot was cozy. But was it secluded enough for them to rest here awhile? @Sausage RE: Two lanky kids duke it out - Chunky - Jul 24 2026 The valkhound toddled through Tunnel F seemingly randomly. It certainly didn't look like it was going anywhere in particular, blank eyes kind of just looking forward as if it barely knew where it was. It blinked and then paused. Um. Hmmmm maybe it should check?
@Seeker
It was very lost. So its magic tried to reorient itself and it turned its head to face the place where it could hear and fool the beating of a heart. It was so little, but he didn't really care, moving forward to approach, head tilted curiously. "UM." His voice was a little loud at first, which he quickly toned down. "What are you? You're so tiny. Why are you so small?" He didn't wait for it to say anything as he sat down in front of its alcove. "I'm lost. Are you lost too?" RE: Two lanky kids duke it out - Seeker - Jul 25 2026 Just as they thought they could begin to settle down... "UM." The voice rang out like a thunder crack across their senses, jolting them onto their feet. Despite the snugness of the alcove, they managed to pivot and show the side of their body towards the attacker, fur along their spine raised to show- "NOT tiny! Or small!" They were regular sized, thank you very much! They should get out of here before they got killed, or worse! What if that hulking being decided to take over their treasured alcove? A shudder ran through their body. No, escape was not an option. They would do the bravest thing they have ever done in their life (and that was not an untrue statement considering the lack of other comparable experiences) and decide to exterminate this threat. "And NOT lost!" Of course he was lost. That's why he was over here trying to steal their home! Perhaps they should give a warning before- Its body reacted before the thought completed in its head. Lunging forward, it tried to sink its jaws into whatever body part of the large creature happened to be closest. @Sausage RE: Two lanky kids duke it out - Chunky - Jul 27 2026 The valkhound tilted his head, not frightened or really bothered at all by the gembound's hostility. He was just trying to be friendly, after all. But also they were, objectively, small. "But look. You are small. Why do you think you're not small?" Confusion passed through his expression, did they not know how little they were?
When it suddenly lunged forward and sunk its teeth into his leg, Sausage blinked, looking down, and only flinched a bit from the pain. Hmmm now why was it doing that? Oh, did it want to play? Some of the other valkhounds it had met back near Draco liked to play too. He'd seen some of them playing rough and wondered if this gembound wanted to do that too. But he didn't want to hurt them! He was so big in comparison! So he just wiggled his leg a little bit and smiled. "Wow, that's a good bite! Grr grrrrr I'm gonna shake you off now, hehe." His tail wagged a bit behind him, almost dog-like. This was fun, right? @Seeker RE: Two lanky kids duke it out - Seeker - Jul 30 2026 "You are small." You ARE small. It applied more pressure at every repetition of the statement in its thoughts. First this thing invades its space, then it proceeds to insult its the very essence of which it was made! Small! Like a very annoying leech, their body floundered from side to side while their jaws stayed latched onto the valkhound which was treating this life or death matter like a game. Though they had to admit, this approach really wasn't working. Not able to shoot back a retort at the disparaging question (they were too busy holding on, but the shaking also really wasn't doing any wonders for their ability to think straight or string a coherent sentence together) they reached out with their claws to try and gain further points of contact onto Chunky. If they managed to do so, they could begin inching their way up where they could attempt to find another avenue of attack. Or, if this failed, they could get flung right off. They needed to have faith in their rather sharp and capable civet paws made for climbing trees. Which, you know, were basically the same thing as invaders of this size. @Chunky RE: Two lanky kids duke it out - Chunky - Aug 17 2026 Chunky didn't quite understand that this little creature was trying to attack them. It felt the pinprick of claws in its thick flesh as little needles but nothing more. He felt the tiny trickles of blood like water droplets falling from the ceiling. He stilled for a moment as it climbed up and then, again, dog-like, crouched like he was getting ready to play, hindquarters wiggling in the air. @Seeker |
