Modern Paleontology - Tectus - Aug 25 2026
Tectus waited around the Tower, lingering on the floor where the three chrysalis were growing. They were...very large now. Now so big that the floor was completely taken up by them, they weren't hatching as Valkhounds did, fully grown and all, but they were definitely going to be large creatures. That was pleasing to her, considering how small some of her last hatch had been. @Sunstone T-One @Olivine T-One RE: Modern Paleontology - Sunstone T-One - Aug 25 2026 The sunstone chrysalis was the first to hatch, and it wasn't quiet or slow. One moment everything was still and then large talons speared right through the stone, an arm kicking its way free as fluid poured from the gaping wound. The second arm smashed through a moment later, following by the rest of the body explosively fighting its way free from its chrysalis, tumbling to the ground in a mess of claws, wet feathers, and a honking protest.
It didn't wait a single moment. Its head shot up, eyes gleaming. It stared at Tectus for a moment, blinking, and then snapped to the right and the left, bird-like in the way it moved and tilted its head to get a better look. Before the Overseer could do a single thing, it was already moving. It let out a hoarse screeching sound as it tumbled for the Olivine - apparently, the object of its ire, and made to...do something. It wasn't really sure what it was doing, it was all instinct and energy and...whatever else was currently making up the meat of its brain. But it had gotten itself too excited, as the rocks beneath it suddenly broke apart under its own magic, and its foot slammed into the wedge it had made, sending it tumbling forward to smack against the chrysalis instead. RE: Modern Paleontology - Olivine T-One - Aug 29 2026 Unlike Sunstone T-One, this hybrid awoke quietly and slow. When stone gave way to feathers and wet-skin, Olivine T-One blinks for the first time. It rises, shaking wet slime off of sensitive skin and feathers both. Olivine T-One takes a moment's look at the fallen sibling, before two sets of eyes travel to the Overseer. It tilts its head to the side, a birdlike motion to investigate the... Much larger creature. It makes a little Rrr sound in the back of its throat. There is no instinct to survive in this one. |
