[CONTEST] To Climb a Tree - Isi - Sep 25 2015 @Arkrael (or whatever character you plan on using i guess lol) The fawn bounced around Eridanus cheerfully; bleating and cooing at whatever she could see - mostly the plant life. It didn't matter to her what kind of plants they were; only that they were actually plants to begin with. With every fern or daisy she came by she touched her nose against the leaves or pettles - sometimes even the stem, and would briefly look around for seeds or bulbs. In the event of finding a seed, as she often did, the fawn would bleat happily and tap her hooves against the mossy ground before picking them up in her mouth and twisting her head back to place the bulbs on her shoulders so they'd begin to grow on her back. She didn't mind the itching or the brief soreness she'd feel as the roots would begin to spread out- she'd love the plants that would grow on her shoulders and down her sides. She already had a daisy sprouting between her shoulders and small ferns sprouting near her rump. One plant she had yet to find a seed for, however, was the towering trees that were around Eridanus. They were big - bigger than the little pansies she adored to look at and watch for most of the day and most certainly bigger than she was. She wondered, briefly, if the orange-green fruits that were clinging around the branches were actually the "seeds." She'd have to climb it. She had to climb the tree. She needed the seeds. She had to climb the tree. The fawn began to try and climb up the trunk of the tree to - quite obviously - no avail. She bleated and she cried and she bleated some more in hopes the tree would somehow help her climb it, but the tree simply remained where it was, as trees often do. She rubbed the little stumps of what would grow into antlers against the bark, bleating some more. And then she simply gave up, sitting awkwardly on her rump in silence. Quietly she moved, paws stepping gently through fern and tall grass alike. Audit's twitched with every sound of another was heard. Heterochromia eyes searched for the one that had been making the sound. Arkrael had been woken by the sound and at first she had thought it to be someone else, but the more she payed attention to it, the more she realized it sounded nothing like the Devil that no longer took up residence within Eridanus. Her gem emitted it's particular humming, vibrating gently against her chest as it reached out to any other gem's that may be within the area. It wasn't long before the sensation just barely washed over her. An unfamiliar gembound within the area. A young one at that. A smile ghosted across her features and she lifted her head up with curiosity. It had been awhile since she had come across a young gembound. Feral had been her last to interact with and that pup was already growing up so big. Shaking her thoughts the wolfess hurried on, her paws carrying her towards the bleating sounds of one that now sounded rather upset. It wasn't long before her gaze settled upon the white pelted creature and she gave a soft hum of thought as she studied it from where she stood. Her heart twisted, but she was quick to push it away. With a flick of her tail Arkrael trailed over towards the young elk and looked up towards the tree that she seemed to be staring up into. "What's the matter little one?" She asked gently, hoping her size and the fact she was a carnivore would not startle the babe too much. Her gaze lingered on the fruits that dangled in the tree branches high above them and began to wonder if that had been what this little one had wanted. She would wait to see the elk's reaction first and listen to anything she had to say just to make sure she wasn't just assuming things. Why else would a herbivore be staring up at a tree though? RE: [CONTEST] To Climb a Tree - Isi - Sep 25 2015 The fawn twisted her head around to look at Arkrael as she spoke but the words just seemed to simply go over her head. She bleated again before she got up to her hooves and began attempting to scramble up the tree trunk again; though it being a vertical climb the fawn quickly slid back down onto her belly. She was quick to get back to her hooves once more however, hopping and circling Arkrael. She let out a soft cry and sat back down on her haunches with her head tilted upwards to stare at the mangoes hanging down from the branches above. She then turned to look at the wolf, rather expectantly. @Arkrael RE: [CONTEST] To Climb a Tree - Arkrael - Sep 26 2015

Arkrael was quiet for a moment before she averted her gaze up towards the tree branches once again. She had half the mind to go find someone who could just knock a few of those down for the young elk, but she didn't necessarily know any gembounds who could fly or climb a tree. She was definitely not made to climb trees, but.... perhaps if she attempted it she could at least say she tried. With a shake of her head she crouched down a bit.Quietly she tried to pick which branch that was closest would also be able to hold her weight without actually snapping beneath her paws and sending her hurling back to the ground. A huff escaped her and she stood back up straight and began to prowl around the tree, still unsure of what branch she should attempt getting to. RE: [CONTEST] To Climb a Tree - Isi - Sep 27 2015 The little elk stared after Arkrael quietly, and then looked at the branch she was peering at. She bleated and hobbled towards it, rearing up in an attempt to cling onto the branch with her forelegs - however she was still too small to reach it. With a hollow thump the fawn fell back onto all fours and she began to circle the area under the branch, bleating sadly. RE: [CONTEST] To Climb a Tree - Arkrael - Sep 27 2015

A thoughtful rumble vibrated in her chest as she watched the young elk once again try to get up the tree. With a shake of her head she turned towards the tree again and trotted over towards the largest branch that was closest to the ground. She crouched and with a sharp shove against the ground, Arkrael bounded up towards the branch. She landed a little shaken as her claws scratched and etched marks into the bark, but she managed to get herself balanced and soon turned to face the next branch. With one more calculative thought Arkrael made her second attempt to get even further up the tree.
