the trek was long. too long. but he needed to get to a place he could easily learn to fly. and he would have to do it all alone, he was sure. and when he had reached cetus, getting back to where he had been taken to with clover and vicktor, he decided this would be the perfect place. he needed a high spot, somewhere to jump off and fly if he could. he waded through, struggling to get to the area he'd thought would work out fine for his attempting to fly.

he scrambled atop a rock, taloned limbs gripping at the pointed top as he then unfurled his wings. they spread outward, his browned feathers now completely overtaking all of the creamed feathers. a few white feathers could be seen attempting to peak through the mochas about his head and tail. azurite lenses focused outward, straight from where he perched. he then flapped his wings, hard and fast, while jumping from the rock's top. his wings took the wind, able to soar a moment, before he fell toward the murky waters. splashing in, he scrambled out again, and struggled to get atop the same rock to try again, but after some preening, he wasn't sure how much wet feathers would be able to take him. and if he'd have to, he'd walk more treks, looking for a more suitable place to attempt this milestone.

prepared to take off again after sometime of cleaning his feathers, the adolescent eagle jumped with a might he hadn't before, hoping to get up into the air as much as possible, before giving a large, powerful flap of his wings. his stark yellow beak pointed skyward, to attempt and go higher and higher, to be able to soar. he was able to glide for a moment, before flapping his wings where he then gained a bit of altitude, before losing all momentum and crashing down.

the eaglet scrambled back toward the rock, back up the object, where he shook his head and unfurled his wings only to have them be dried again. he didn't mind having to wait some time before he'd try again, for the time to recover his energy and reassess his mistakes was vital.

after another couple of minutes, the eagle braced himself again. lids narrowed as he then pointed his body skyward yet again. his wings spread outward, and he did as he'd done before. surging power into his limbs and wings to create a more powerful take off than the last two times, grunting as he did so. and as last time, he gained more altitude and more altitude before soaring and gliding, he gave a flap of his wings and gained more altitude, aiming toward a tree branch. he landed peacefully upon the tree branch, higher than before and looked down at the murky waters below. he smiled in small triumph. he looked to the side, and spotted another tree, where he then decided would be his next target.

he took a deep breath, and observed the trees for a moment. he felt at home in them, even in this misty, muggy place. now he could build his bone tower higher, and much like a tree, for him to perch upon in canis - since that is to be his decided home. the home of the bonebound.

shaking thoughts from his mind, he yet again prepared for take off. his wings did not spread yet, not until he was airborne from his jump. he inched toward the very edge of the mid branch he'd landed upon, and aimed for the nearest tree branch. with a mighty flap, his wings and limbs worked in unison, to attempt and thrust his weight airborne. with the practice he'd been having, his execution was flawless. the adolescent eagle was now airborne, and was learning how to manipulate the altitude. soaring higher, falling lower, to flap for more momentum, and then to fly up toward the very tip top of one of the large trees.

satisfied, the eagle preened atop his new perch, no longer useless wings annoying extremities. he gave a strong, proud screech as azurite lenses observed the area below. he loved the rush it gave him being so high, the feeling of the fall as he lowered in altitude when in flight. yes, he could get used to this, very much so. and who would come to celebrate with him? the now overly excited eagle surveyed the room, in search for someone - anyone. whether he may or may not know them.
