First Breath - Rose - Oct 09 2015 A smooth striped crysalis lay in the middle of the floor, simply glistening in the light as quiet as can be. She was just about ready now though and started to try to wiggle. The little gembound was out of space and was feeling cramped in the tiny space. She stretched out as much as she could but nothing happened and the closed space was getting claustrophobic as the minutes went by. Instinct told her it was time ti get out, but she couldn't figure out how. Little did she know, her efforts weren't completely wasted. Small cracks started to form around where her muzzle pushed against the crysalis. The more she struggled and squirmed, the more the cracks spread and grew grew, but the hard stone didn't want to actually break and release the little creature. In frustration, the tiny maned wolf started shaking her head until a small chip of tiger's eye broke off. It was just enough space for her nose to poke out, but that was enough for now. She took her first breath of cave air and stopped struggling so hard for a moment. RE: First Breath - Anku - Oct 10 2015 ________________
@Rose RE: First Breath - Rose - Oct 10 2015 Once she had her moment of rest, Rose started to squirm again, hitting the edge of the little hole with her muzzle, needing to get out. With one big shove, she felt the shell of rock around her start to give, her little breathing hole turned into a big crack that spread until the whole crysalis split and fell apart in two big chunks. The soft part of her muzzle was cut a bit by the sharp edge of the broken stone as she shoved though, and the small fluffy creature yelped as she flopped out of her curled up position onto the ground. Dark blue eyes blinked open at the light of the cave as she started to see for the first time. Things were a bit fuzzy and blobby, but they were there... Her mind couldn't figure out what to do with these new shapes and colors, so she snapped her eyes back shut. The soft red that was the inside of her eyelids was a comforting sight in this new bright world. Maybe she did want back into that dark cramped space... New was scary. Her nose was nothing but interested by this new place though. She could already pick out a few different scents in the air that she would learn names for later. The cool scent of rock and the sharp smell of flowing water were the strongest, but something else was nearby, something warm. She sniffed again and turned her head, eyes still clamped shut, toward the smell, wanting to know what it could possibly be. @Anku RE: First Breath - Anku - Oct 11 2015 ________________
The kitten hopped back, staring wide-eyed at the small canine before she slowly sat back onto her haunches with a tilted head. She spoke at length, quiet, "Hello." RE: First Breath - Rose - Oct 25 2015 She inhaled that new warm scent again, instincts telling get that it came fronm something alive. Then it spoke to her, and she had to open her eyes for this. Prob aside her fear of this new big place, Rose found the shape that had spoken and realized it was the same thing the warm smell was coming from. ""H...h...hello" she said back and blinked get eyes to see if her fuzzy vision world tell her anything more than out was now. Surely things had to be a bit easier than this at some point. She couldn't function if all the could see was blobs of color. And she knew there was nice than blobs because of the sharp feeling of the pebbles under her paw pads. Slowly, as she kept her eyes open, blinking from time to time, things did start to clear a little and the Orange thing that had spoken to her started to take shape abd she could pick out ears and a tail. The details were still all blurry, but it was better than nothing. @Anku |
