How Dare You? - Gertrude - Dec 21 2015
It was a normal day of doing normal pigeon things... Like eating. As unfortunate as it was, the bird still had to eat. He hopped around on the snowy ground, his feet sinking and making little marks in the white world around him. There was barely anything here! PAH! Even though the place was frozen, it still had more food than a lot of other places in the caves. He could find berries here, even though there were always- ugh- bugs. He didn't even want to think of eating those things. Shaking his head, Gertrude continued to hop hop around, looking for a small meal. "Blah" |

Baratheon couldn't say that he hated the white stuff that seemed to be falling all around him but he couldn't say that he loved it either. His thick fur coat made him all but oblivious to the cold but his prey was becoming tougher and tougher to locate. If it kept this up he might have to find some other hunting grounds. He snorted, a puff of pink smoke erupting from his nostrils at the derisive sound. He was loathe to leave his brother all alone despite the fact that he seemed more and more capable of taking care of himself. He had the firey Barnett to blame --or thank?-- for that.
The white dragon made his way over snow and through snowdrifts, flattening everything before him. Behind him his massive tail swung side to side, keeping him balanced as he roamed through Eridanus. His gaze was firmly affixed ahead of him and not on the ground. He wasn't paying the slightest attention to anything that was tiny and on the ground. As far as he was concerned with the noise he was making crunching through the snow they should know to get out of the way. Not that he wanted to hurt anyone... He just couldn't be bothered to keep his eyes on the ground when he was huge and easily seen by the smaller creatures.

Gertrude wasn't far into looking for food when he heard the distinctive crunch... chrunch... cruch... of footsteps. He looked around to see a large dragon being tromping through the snow. What a large beast! It was pale, but not altogether ugly. Gertrude tilted his head, inspecting the large thing. His pink eyes were looking into the distance, his large feet crushing the snow below him... heading straight for, "Excuse me." Coming right at, "Hey, excuse me, mate!" Stoming right in front of, "EXCUSE ME, FELLOW!" The dragon stomped nearly on top of Gertrude. The bird ruffled his feathers and fluttered back to avoid being stepped on. The dragon thing didn't even see him, "Just who do you think you are? Further more do you know who I am? I am Prince Charmbirb Gert-" SMACK A thick tail slapped Gertrude right to the side. He plopped into the snow, "Oh the nerve of it all! That's IT! That's it, I can no longer take this, sir. I tried to be nice, I really did, but I have had it up to here with you and I will not stand to be bullied by someone of your size just because you're... you're gigantic! Sir, I say Sir! I challenge you! I challenge you to a duel!" He didn't know if the dragon was listening or not, but Gertrude knew he was about to know of the grievous mistake he made. |

The dragon hadn't been paying the slightest bit of attention. His mind had been on food and his eye on the scenery ahead. Even if the tiny voice had reached his ears he probably would've just told the creature to move aside. Like the dove --who Baratheon still didn't know existed-- he had quite a big ego and he would refuse to be bossed around.
Baratheon continued forward, tail sliding in the snow... until... He felt a sharp peck at the base of his tail. The dragon grunted and stiffened. Was that a flea? Or some sort of biting mammal chewing at him? In any case it was annoying, like a bee sting. Without turning around to look Baratheon lifted his rear left leg and scratched fiercely at whatever it was, aiming to either throw it off or crush it depending on what sort of animal it was.

Before Gertrude could think, he was flung off the dragon's tail. A long nail scratched down Gertrude's back, causing a moderate cut from below the base of his head gem down to his shoulder blades. He tumbled through the air, then his wings flung out to catch him, "HOW... DARE... YOU?!" He squawked, then tucked his wings and dove towards Baratheon's left ear. He aimed to pierce and rip the left ear with his momentum. His neck tucked and his feathers fluffed as he dove. This... thing would pay!! "Blah" |

Ah, sweet relief. The dragon could feel something below his claws that got thrown off with the force of his scratch. The great beast gave himself a shake and was prepared to continue on his merry way... Until he heard the sound of a bird. It sounded agitated and... were those words that it was saying? Before he could even turn to ask what it was he felt a stabbing pain as something ripped through his ear, making a small V-shaped tear in the tissue. The dragon roared in anger. Some lowlife scum was attacking him on his blind side!
He turned to try and track it but he couldn't see what it was! It was too small and moving too quickly. Quickly he focused his magic and tried to blow the creature away with a blast around his entire circumference.

The creature looked around wildly. Gertrude could taste the blood. Aha! So he WOULD get his revenge! The dragon did nothing that Gertrude noticed. The prince bird swooped around to see that the dragon wore a bandage on one eye. He fluffed his feathers, tucked his head, and got an idea. Aiming for Bara's right eye, Gertrude fluttered towards the dragon, aiming to flap his wings and kick out his talons at the last second to gauge the pink orb that tried to follow his movements. The dragon shook his head, trying to shake off the slight stinging in his torn ear. His good eye looked around wildly, trying to find the nuisance that was bothering him. Finally! He saw the creature flying straight at him, talons prone as it tried to injure his good eye. Panic coursed through his body. The last thing he needed was to lose his right eye then he would be completely blinded! Who would protect Booker then?
With a snarl the dragon attempted to tuck his head out of the way before he was gored in his sensitive eye. He managed to protect the eye but he could feel the small claws slicing through his cheek. Annoying little beast. The panic had evaporated leaving nothing but anger."Stupid little beast! What's the point of you attacking me? You're just gonna get yourself eaten!" He roared at the tiny bird.

Gosh darn it! How could he dodge? Even if it was just barely. Gertrude felt his claws tear at the dragon's cheek. The thing tucked his head, but his ears still stood out. Gertrude flew around to the bandaged side- the left side. The dragon said he was going to get eaten, "Hah! As if! If you watched where you were going-" Aiming again for the left ear while keeping his feathers fluffed and his head tucked, Gertrude sought to grab the ear with his talons and tear it by trying to fly off with it in one swoop, "I wouldn't need to fight you!" "Blah" |

That arrogant piece of shit! "Perhaps you should grow! Then I wouldn't have to strain my eye looking for little bastards like you!" His voice was an enraged snarl as he tried to keep track of the bird. It was so small and so fast! It was like trying to track a gnat! It didn't help in the slightest that he was half-blind! Enraged that he couldn't keep track the dragon roared in frustration and in pain when he felt it again.
Wait... Felt it. He couldn't see but so long as he could feel the bird ripping at his ear he could aim. It was a stinging sensation and he could feel blood start to bubble up at the dove's persistance but the thing was too small to do any real damage. So, while it was busy ripping and pulling the dragon focused his magic and felt pressure build up in his ear. Then, with one violent flick he prepared to toss the dove aside and hopefully away.
