Alliances to be made - Arkrael - Jan 26 2016

Cayenne Recruit thread.

It was all coming together, slowly perhaps, but it was still working it's way into something that was sure to be grand. Zariel was on the mend, his leg was hopefully healed by now, Dovefeather and Priest had agreed to a joining, and now she was left to find members that would join her cause. Heterochromia eyes lifted from the ground she sat upon and studied the familiar surroundings. Trees and fern bushes as far as she could see. The Monarch ever looming in the distance in the middle of Eridanus. This was her home, her place of refuge. The one place she would stay and defend till the end of her day. With it, she could create something more. A place for those like-minded gembounds who wished to tend to and protect all of thee caves, not just Eridanus, from the evil that dared threaten it's safety.

It was in that idea that Arkrael knew. She knew there would be challanges from evil-doers and the Guardians would rise to face it. There would be injuries and casualties, but it would be needed. To keep the young and defenseless safe and without fear. It was inevitable. They would need a healer. Not just one, but possibly many. However, she knew of a great one. One she had personaly been tended to a couple times before. One that she knew would become even greater in her craft. Though, would she agree to Arkrael's request?

Arkrael's attention was pulled away from her thoughts as she heard a flutter of wings against the air. Her gaze lifted and almost instantly located the large Dragonbat that now hovered just above her. A smile quickly warmed her feature as she regarded the fully grown dragonbat. Her broken heart warmed and for once in such a very long time she felt happy just looking at someone. Pheo was only a lesser gembound, but she had grown so fond of her familiar. In her current time of life he was her light in her shroud of darkness.

"Pheo...find Cayenne for me..." She called up to him, her voice gentle and affectionate. The screech of the dargonbat rang through the area before the creature instantly flew off. Arkrael closed her eyes only for a brief moment before she tilted her head back and released her song. Her voice rose and dipped in notes, calling a summon to the one she wished to speak with. If Pheo did not find her first, perhaps Cayenne was in close enough range to hear her call.

RE: Alliances to be made - Cayenne - Jan 28 2016

She was plucking blue leaves from her favorite bush, the one she personally tended to and helped grow from the very beginning, and she nodded to it, taking it its extraordinarily broad leaves. She'd given it magic every single time she passed it by, and it responded to her like an old friend by now, its leaves shivering in the breeze like the plant was excited to see her again. She took refuge from it, because no matter what, no matter how many leaves she took or how many animals ate from it, it wouldn't mind or be in pain or even complain.

She tucked away the broad leaves and shrugged her backpack over her shoulders, wondering vaguely if she should show Giga or Fritz her favorite plant, if they would appreciate it like she did.

Cayenne wouldn't let her thoughts stray to Tenn and her destroyed home. She wouldn't. She had felt so disconnected from the entire experience for such a long while, but...she had those to support her, now. She wasn't alone.

A screech interrupted her before her thoughts got too dark and dismal, and she looked up to see a familiar face. "Pheo," She said softly with her raspy voice. "It's nice to see you again. Is...?"

A sound in the distance answered her before she could ask her question. She smiled wistfully and nodded to Pheo kindly. "Well, that answers that. Let's go see Ark, shall we?"

Cayenne followed Pheo with her head up and her thoughts far away, her hand trailing the plants and bushes and tree trunks and stones with recognition like a blind gem, knowing each and every one, some personally, some she had spoken to with her magic. They didn't have words, but they gave her feelings nontheless.

Then made it back to Arkrael safe and sound, and Cayenne gripped the straps of her backpack and looked up at the wolf with an open expression. "You called me?"

'Found her! Found Cayenne! She is here! Coming. We are coming!'

The words filled Arkrael's mind only moments later and a smile curled across her features. Silently she waited, simply taking in the air around her. Slowly her eyes closed as she relaxed in that ever after rain smell. Outside of the sweet moss and ferns covering all of Eridanus, the scent of the air had to be one of her favorite features. Hearing a soft screech Arkrael's eyes opened and she regarded the two gently. Pheo fluttered about, landing on his four paws before he bounced right on over to her. His large size now standing up to her chest easily. He circled around and soon faced Cayenne as the lemur finally got close to them.

"I did," She began gently, studying the little lemur before her. Deep down she hoped that Cayenne would be willing to join with her. She did not truly know if Cayenne had a home some where else, but with always seeing her in Eridanus Arkrael always assumed she was here most of her days. "I have...a request for you, Cayenne," She spoke as she continued to keep her eyes focused on the lemur's, "An offer...- I have been gathering those close to me, and many others, to come together in Eridanus. To start a family. A group as some would call it within the Caves. We would be called The Guardians you see. Our mission, our cause, would be to keep all the caves in balance. The evil that wishes to rise again all, to squash them down beneath their hooves of paws...they would be challenged by the warriors among our family."

For a moment Arkrael paused, hoping that she was not overwhelming Cayenne with her explanation of what she was hoping to create. "I was hoping that, perhaps you may be interested in joining? You don't have to, so if you need to think it over before giving me an answer that is perfectly okay," Arkrael smiled warmly, her tail swishing about. Cayenne would make a great member in the family and she just knew that Cayenne would surely rise to become one of the Vayza. A Master Healer. There was no doubt in her mind that Cayenne would become one some day, if she had not reached that feat all on her own already.

Cayenne's brows raised. An offer? Her gut twisted in that familiar grudge of being 'needed' rather than wanted, but she kicked down the feeling. It was a lying feeling made to bring her down and drive her crazy, and she wanted- needed not to listen to it. That feeling would make her sick, had been making her sick, and she couldn't listen to it anymore. And when Ark mentioned the word family her mind immediately went to Giga and Fritz and she bit her lip and her chest tightened. A group, a family to help others, to take care of those in need, others who would help her when she came across monsters like Vicktor. Those to teach, to help, to help her when she needed it...it was a world on a silver platter, to her.

"There's no need to think about it," Cayenne said, her throat tight. "I'll join you, Ark. I trust you, and I know the other gems you're gathering will be just as strong as you."

Her eyes looked down towards the ground. "Honestly...I think that sort of thing would be good for me. I've been....alone...for too long. I don't know if I'm worthy to join other gembounds..." And bother them with my ugly presence, she added mutely, "But if you want me, Ark, I'd be there and give all I have to offer."
