Crawling without Limbs - Egahi - Feb 23 2016

The ground was not as warm as it was in Canis, but it was hard to not continue forward, exploring this new world with some show of eagerness. The stars above glimmered falsely. Along the walls, lines of white reminded the reptile of herself. The ground's crystals caught her keen eye as well, which eventually resulted in her crawling into a bundle that sprouted out. She weaved between point, rubbing her sides against the odd shapes. With no time at all, her paled eye became blacker as a thin sheet slipped from her head.

Moments passed along, her body slipping from the crystal patch and sliding away, leaving a shell of herself behind. Her white scale shined especially bright, clean of the skin she'd outgrown. Egahi felt very refreshed and quite ready for a meal, but wasn't particularly in need. She would not be hunting, but her options would certainly be open should a potential snack scurry or slither by.

As she crawled, head slightly elevated, her tongue struck outward repeatedly. The forked tip quivered in the air, capturing the chemicals that were present. There was a lot of very interesting things feeding into her senses, drawing her in randomized directions. Before long, she found herself surrounded by structures - buildings - that strongly appealed to her interests. One by one, she drifted into them, explored the insides, then moved on. Hints of mice, rats, and smaller snake species lingered. There was even signs of lesser birds who likely lingered from time to time.

Egahi was very intrigued. This cave was very different from her place of birth. Sure, there were odd structures made from bones, but nothing like what she was finding her. Ruins of things buried in dust, dirt, and rock. Bits and pieces hidden away behind walls, tucked in crevices and corners. She eventually found herself in a crevice, wiggling around and pushing further, coming out of a hole that was directed toward the forum. She flicked her tongue more, staring out over the very unusual structure - that is, unusual compared to everything else she'd seen here, so far. Carefully, she pushed from the hole and stretched toward the ground. From there, she crawled toward the forum, eager to see what might be found there.

RE: Crawling without Limbs - Romeo - Feb 25 2016

Romeo plodded on, the heavy weight on his back slowing him down, causing his back to ache and his muscles to creep onwards. His noisemaker, a big old chunk of wood lying across his back, was more than a little bit of a burden. But Romeo refused to leave it behind. He feared the silence more than he disliked the heaviness or the aches, or the fear that he might break it...

To anyone else, the noise-maker might have seemed like more trouble than it was worth, but Romeo dared not even consider the thought. the sounds it made were perfect, fascinating, and they kept him company when there were no other voices to hear apart from his own. but Romeo often hummed to himself as he moved, and Today was no different. Except that today, as well as the vibrations in his chest, there were tiny murmurs growing too. He knew that it had the potential to become something far, far more beautiful and hung onto that thought, slowly experimenting with it, teasing it into reality.

"Darkness, light, crystals sprawling... ah, um... all the... caverns deep and beautiful... mysterious... humm..."

He hadn't gotten very far with that dream quite yet, but well, he was working on it. As Romeo looked up, he noticed what looked to be a white line or some sort of worm, snaking and winding its way across the ground a short distance away. It reminded him a little, of the very first being he'd met in the caves. Only, this one was bigger. Far, far bigger. He was intrigued, and settled down, allowing his noise-maker to slide off with a small clunk onto the stone floor beside him.

"Well, hello there?" he called curiously, pulling at the strings of his noisemaker idly to banish the gaping silence. "Who might I have the pleasure of being with?"

He allowed his words to drone and trail a little. Aha. perhaps this was the way forward...

RE: Crawling without Limbs - Egahi - Feb 28 2016

The forum was very... large. Open. Egahi slid among gravel and dirt, moving smoothly. The vibrations of a voice made her pause, then a thud. She turned and lifted her head, finding some creature with an object that he appeared to be fiddling with. She creeped toward him a little, bobbling as he spoke a again. He seemed distracted, or perhaps that's just how he always was. Regardless, he did inquire who she was, and it seemed only polite to reply.

"I am... Egahi. What is your... calling?" she inquired him with silk in her tone. The Bonebound creature slid closer to him, tongue flicking in an effort to understand and know. She'd been coming in contact with various new creatures, and this fellow was as peculiar as the rest.

The serpen spoke to him, and Romeo was hard pressed for a response. Calling? What did she mean by that? But, not wanting to disappoint, Romeo ran his claws over the strings of his noise-maker. "I am Romeo! My calling is to raise my voice and banish silence from the caves." he declared nobly, puffing out his chest so that his heart could be seen beating strong and true beneath the window-like clear quartz upon his chest.

"And what's yours?" the raccoon dog asked the cobra curiously, keeping protective claws resting on the instrument beside him. With every word he plucked the strings, making a tiny sound. It went rather nicely alongside his voice, and he felt shivers riding up and down his spine. Excellent! He felt as though he was actually getting somewhere.

The pride shone clearly on his face.
