Nemesis ![]() Ever since meeting that young lion, Nemesis had been torn. Still, she was ever determined to protect her home from lions and any other predator that might attack her children... But maybe they weren't all bad. Technically her LITERALLY GIRLFRIEND was a carnivore, as well as her leaders, but they were... Well, they were on her side, and frankly quite fragile. Even Louie was powerless without his magic, and the bacteria and poison her family were infamous for inflicting on others hardly seemed to make her flinch most days. She ran too hot. She was too strong. Of course, there was always the chance that she would fail them like she once had. She shook her head from those thoughts, pushing away bad memories. For now, she would simply patrol the entrance, listening to the familiar roar of the zephyrs that danced in the center of her home. This place was an extension of who she was-- its heart raced along side her own. She would see to it that nothing got past her, that nothing hurt her or her family. It did get a bit tiresome. Sometimes it felt like she was protecting nothing at all... Though, that was only because the caves were so big, and often gems got caught up in business that didn't involve her. It was kind of a lonely feeling-- only Magdalena and Hestia sought her out on occasion, and it seemed like every day they were more and more independent. The last time she had seen Fang... The rhinoceros let out a snort. Protecting her home was something of a national pride. She would do it even if she was the last Merrymen in the caves. It was her duty-- and it gave her an excuse to kick the hell out of anyone who dared overstep her boundaries. @Xerxes RE: ;; natural enemies - Xerxes - Mar 18 2016

Nemesis ![]() As though presenting her the opportunity for her to get her bloodbath in for the day, a slick black lion came prowling up to her, words stumbling from his clumsy mouth before she even lowered her horn to the filthy carnivore. She inhaled through her teeth, thunder flashing in the dark skies of her eyes. As though to bolster her rumbling threats, her horn held dangerously low, and her steady approach-- the stink of burning skin started through the air. It was a gradual change, as her feet caught blaze. Her ears went next, smoke spewing from her nostrils as she snorted. Flames rose up around the rhinoceros, and despite how painful it looked, she hardly flinched. It was the same warning she gave anyone else. @Xerxes RE: ;; natural enemies - Xerxes - Mar 30 2016

Nemesis ![]() While Nemesis should have, and really honestly must have, expected the answer she got, she still felt completely indignation towards the brat of a lion. Her threats fell on deaf ears, did they? Didn't he realize she was twice his size and on fire? But he didn't take a step back, no, he didn't even really flinch. That was plenty to send the trinoceros' fumes over the edge into full on flaming rage town-- but despite it all she put on a pleasant smile, a simple worker doing her job in the abattoir. It had been too long since she had the chance to kick some lion tail, after all. Flames licking up from her ankle, she stomped the earth in threat-- one, THUD. Ready to tear him limb from limb if necessary. She was just waiting for an excuse, any excuse, that he would give her. @Xerxes RE: ;; natural enemies - Xerxes - Mar 31 2016
