Pebbles - Eve - May 25 2016

Polaris was one of the more pleasant places for Eve to visit, regardless of the things that had happened there. There was the strange blood-creatures, when she blew up her ear, or Dragon trying to climb the spire and failing over and over again.

Landing on a rock, Eve fluffed up her feathers, shaking off the moisture form Pisces that resided in them. Polaris was also where she made her children with the strange dog; children that she rarely saw anymore. A look at the spire told her that the pearly-white figure of her daughter wasn't there and therefore probably wasn't around right now.

That was alright. Eve had other things to do. She folded her wings onto her back and fluffed herself up, concentrating into her foot. An orb appeared in front of her, within her line of sight. It was glowing faintly, but enough to emit a soft yellow light onto her.

With a beat of inky-black wings Eve was in the air again, flying close to the darkened areas of Polaris with the orb in front of her beak, casting weak lights over the darkness. She wasn't searching for long before she found what she was looking for.

A pebble.

It was smooth with perfectly round corners, but flat. As the crow landed, she picked up the pebble in her talon, inspecting it. It was clean; almost carrying the appearance as though it was new. In her time of inspecting the pebble, the orb faded and left her and her new item in darkness.

It didn't matter. This one would do fine.

RE: Pebbles - Todd - May 26 2016

As Todd bounced around Polaris in his usual lopsided fashion, he caught sight of a new light today. an odd light! A big, bright orb simply flying overhead. It was still some distance away so of course, Todd made a beeline for it, deciding that he wanted it in his usual, bratty way.

Maybe it was a new spell! He sure hoped so. Todd hadn't seen a new spell in a long time. It was disappointing and he could have pouted but didn't. He was too focused on the prospect of another one!

As the light passed beneath the bright auroras Todd could see that it in fact belonged to a big black bird. a familiar one, actually. Todd was sure he recognized it from somewhere in his distant past. he was sure of it! That was an exciting thought. So the adult fox kept on bounding after it. As the light finally descended, Todd sprung out into the open, tumbling head over heels just a short distance from where the light went out. "Oh no!" he cried out. "Where'd the pretty light go?"

The fox scrambled to his paws and investigated the area around before finally approaching the bird he'd seen, giving up with a drooping tail and ears. He tipped his head to one side and narrowing his eyes, staring quizzically. He knew them, he was sure he knew them. But from where?

He gasped, loudly and exaggeratedly, as he suddenly realized. "EVE!" he cried, bouncing around yipping, his tail lashing this way and that. In a way, he was no different to the day he'd hatched out and first seen her. At least until his hind legs gave out, and he simply looked betrayed instead.

RE: Pebbles - Eve - May 26 2016

The crow could hear faint cries from somewhere else; but she decided not to bother with it just yet. She concentrated into the stone, holding it with her moonstone talon. It began shimmering quietly, spreading to the stone and creating an almost glass-like effect. The pebble, now shining white-yellow, lay in her claws. She stared at it contentedly before hearing her name distracted her.

"Kid?" she called out quizzically. She could faintly see the outline of something distinctly Louie-shaped, but not at all Louie. Todd wasn't as darkly-coated as she remembered, but it had also been many cycles.

She watched as the fox fell over. The crow winced and took to the air, stone in her claws, and fluttered over to land on a rock near by the fallen creature. His scars were somewhat familiar: the unstable back legs and the tendancy to limp and fall over, but she wouldn't quite remember it.

"You alright there?" she asked, a fairly matronly tone taking over her voice. It didn't make it any quieter, however. "Maybe we should take you to somebody."

She hopped down now, leaving the stone behind her as she hobbled to inspect Todd's black legs. "Caves," she croaked thoughtfully. "I wonder if any Aquarian's children were healers."

She couldn't remember. It had been so long since she set foot in Cetus.

RE: Pebbles - Todd - May 28 2016

Todd laughed excitedly. "I'm not Kid! I'm Todd! You'd know, you were there when I got called Todd!" the excited fox said, an innocent grin plastered on his face. "I've not seen you in sooo many cycles. That's a long, long time!" Despite his childish attitude, the fox had still learned how the caves work. He was much more knowledgeable than he was back then, but other than that, not much had changed. On the surface at least... Maybe somewhere there was an adult hidden in that brain of his.

Todd's back legs were sprawled beneath him, and no sooner was he about to call to the bird that had seemingly fluttered away, Todd found them right next to him and inspecting his scarred hind limbs. In response to her question, he nodded vigorously, seemingly not seeing the problem. "I'm okay!" he yelped excitedly. "I'm all better now! See?" in order to prove his point, the fox hopped back onto all four paws and bounced around, his hind legs seemingly with a mind of their own.

Prancing back to Eve, he stood tall and waved his tail. "See?"

It was only then he seemed to realize how small the crow had gotten since they last met. Or was that his memory? ...Nope, it decidedly wasn't. He decided to voice his thoughts but first, he dropped down onto his belly so that they were eye to eye. Aha! That was better! Todd grinned and tilted his head. "You're way smaller than you were last time!" he declared, with a little chuckle.

"I could just scoop you up in my paws right now!"
