Broken, but Surviving - Penelope - May 31 2016 Another lonely day in the depths of Monoceros. Darkness was a cloak that slowly became an odd comfort as much as it was a curse. The worst of it was when she slept, as nightmares plagued her dreams. A white bird that carried the plague under her wing, with a beak dripping of poison. It made sleep difficult, but she managed. Laid out upon her side, her eyes would flutter open from time to time, indicating the moments she was woken by the flash of pale feathers. The nap was short lived, but she did feel somewhat better. With a stretch and yawn, she rolled her her belly, but didn't make any further effort to erect herself. Relaxation came in small moments like this, when Louie was not there to call her to him like a dog. A slave to his whim, even if he had half-begged for her help. In the end, was there much choice? Likely not, but at least she hadn't been forced to come in contact with any of the others... at least, not yet. "Speech" Thoughts. @penelope RE: Broken, but Surviving - Penelope - Jun 08 2016 What it was, she did not know, but it made her hair stand on end as a chill shuddered through her. Footsteps not dissimilar to Louie's - but not heavy with sickness - approached her. The blind tapir waited for a voice. Some tone that held a layer of deception. No such thing came, but there was faint noises and the little sound of something dropping to the ground made her ears shoot forward. Had she not become more keen on the remaining senses, she'd of never known anything had happened at all. Oddly, the lack of words seemed even more suspicious than seductive words. Penelope lowered her trunk to the fungus, sniffing at it a little before the nose wrinkled and turned up into a flehmen. Whatever it was, it smelled incredibly weird although not entirely bad. More like a dirt smell, really. It was off, though, so she chose to not eat it, head rising back up. She searched for him in the darkness, ears focusing on any sound he might make, even the sound of his breathing. "Who are you?" she inquired, tone flopping out a little more flatly than she had intended. Penelope decided to try again, hoping to sound much friendlier the next go 'round, "I mean... I'm... I'm Penelope." Was that really any better though? Sigh. "Speech" Thoughts. Louie's Bullshit. @Othello RE: Broken, but Surviving - Othello - Jun 24 2016 >>
@penelope RE: Broken, but Surviving - Penelope - Jun 24 2016 ![]() It seemed he knew as much about her sight as she did about his voice. The quiet that filled the air aside from the scuffling the other provided of their presence made her interest wane further. Penelope snorted at the canine and moved to leave. If she was to be disturbed without any communication, she would just have to vacate. She backed away several feet first, nervous about turning her back on something she couldn't see. "Well, uhm... I'll just get going, then. Sorry if I was intruding on your space," she muttered. With a big sigh, the tapir began to mosey elsewhere. Othello's eyes narrowed at the insubstantial tapir as she spoke and started to walk away. Ha! The stupid tapir was leaving! Othello puffed up his chest before realizing that the gembound was probably just going to look for Louie and probably tell on him! She had no way of knowing his intentions did she? Could she read minds? Quickly, Othello bolted until he stood in front of the tapir with his chest puffed out and head held high. With his legs spread apart to take up as much room with his lithe body as possible, he hoped to stop the tapir in her tracks. He couldn't let her return to Louie! The whole idea was to get her to leave, not stick around! He guessed she could lead her to him, but how could he convince Louie that she was useless to them? While he would love to do all that in front of her, he had the sinking feeling that Louie wanted her around for some reason, making him infinitely more jealous of her. His head lowered and he snarled, the first sign of aggression or any emotion other than blank, his lips curling over his teeth. She wouldn't get to see Louie any time soon. @penelope fite??? |
