Sometimes to Stay Alive You've Gotta Kill Your Mind - Imperia - Jul 09 2016

A thread just for Imperia

Imperia
They'll call our crimes a work of art

Imperia walked along the walls of Orion, a zircon gem held delicately between their teeth. They had managed to separate the stone from the puma they had killed not long ago, and decided to hold onto it for now. It was their trophy, something they planned to hold onto it. Hopefully, one day, they'd have many trophies and would need somewhere to put them. But for now, they just had one. One trophy, one gem. They weren't even sure what to do with it. A part of them was tempted to give life to it-they'd be able to train the child, teach them the ways of fighting. They'd be their partner. Their partner in crime, if you will.

But at the same time, they'd have to keep track of them. They'd have to wait a while before they hatch. And what if they didn't want to fight? Imperia would just have to try and think about them. They'd still be a trophy, in a way, as every time they saw them, they would be reminded of their kill, but if they didn't want to fight then Imperia wouldn't even want to look at them. They sighed and decided to just hold onto the stone until they figured out what to do with it.

For now, they really had to heal their wounds. Their latest battle, with Eira, had really done a number on them. Their paws were burnt, but that was something that would likely never go away. They also had a various number of scratches. But most importantly, they had a bitten nose, belly, and chest. None of the wounds were too bad, and should easily be healed. They just had to use a spell they recently acquired. They closed their eyes and began to call upon their magic, to let it heal them.

"Listen to me."

The gem on heir claws began to glow, and Imperia began to feel something rush through their. Almost immediately, the pain begin to lessen, and their wounds began to heal. They breathed a sigh of relief and enjoyed the feel of their wounds no longer hurting as much. It still hurt, but it hurt much less now.

Imperia brought their paw up to their nose and realized it was already starting to scab. There might be a small scar there, but not enough that It would be noticed. They gave a huff of disappointment. They began to look at their other injuries. The bite on their neck and stomach would likely leave a permanent mark. They grinned in satisfaction. At least they had something.

They began to try and cast their spell again, perhaps just one more time. That was, if it worked. They focused on their gem, eyes closed, trying to will their magic to work.

This time, the feeling wasn't as intense, but it was still there. Their wounds hardly even hurt now, it was just like an ache that was there, but one that they could ignore. They decided that was enough. Now, they had to figure out what to do with this gem. They set it down and stared at it. They could give life to it, or they could just...hold onto it. They could easily lose it, though. And it might just get in the way while they're fighting.

If they give life to it, they could train it, raise it. They could teach it to kill, to fight others, to show no mercy. They'd be able to fight even better now, with someone to fight with! That's twice the chance they'd win! With a sigh, they made up their mind. They'd give life to the stone. But later. Now didn't seem like a good time to do it. But soon, soon they would. For now, they got up, picked up the stone, and began to walk away. They wanted to stick around in Orion for a bit. They'd probably do it in Orion, and stay near the chrysalis until it hatched. But for now, they just walked around.
