Who Let the Dogs Out - Widget - Sep 11 2016 Paws scrabbled over the blanket of bones that laid through out Canis. He was almost free from the yellow chrysalis, now he just had to figure out how to pop his front out. Widget hopped backwards, dragging his chrysalis across the remains, drawing a messy path as he split the sea of bones. A muffled whimper escaped from the puppy. He was finding this very difficult. Sliding himself out was not working, so if backwards was giving him a dead end, he decided to go forwards. He pushed his pack paws against the unsteady ground and bulldozed his way across the pile of bones. Much to his disappointment, he felt himself slide back in into the cramped chrysalis. Widget found himself ditching that strategy very quickly. He rested his hindquarters on the ground, thumping his tail as he thought of other brilliant ideas. A curious mouse squeezed itself through the bones as he watched the newborn's failed attempts to enter the world. Its nose and whiskers twitched in the air as it stood on its hind legs to get a better view. The mouse came back down on to all fours as it cautiously inched closer to the puppy rump. It stuck out its nose to sniff the whippet, tapping its little whiskers over his fur. Widget tensed up. Someone was tickling his rump. He wasn't sure if he liked that. He instantly scrabbled to his hind legs, lifting his front into the air. The pup found out the hard way that he could not stand on his back legs. Top heavy, he toppled over, crashing onto the bones. His chrysalis hit the ground with a clack, and a small fracture spat itself over the zircon walls, but it did not break. The mouse had already retreated back into the safety of the bone pit when the puppy stirred, deciding it was safer to watch from afar. @Pharoah RE: Who Let the Dogs Out - Pharoah - Sep 13 2016
RE: Who Let the Dogs Out - Widget - Oct 08 2016 Happiness made the little pup's tail wag when he heard Pharoah. What a nice voice he had. He wanted to meet this fine fellow! The little Gemling gave a muffled greeting as he pressed his back paws against his zircon chrysalis to try and once again free himself. With his hare-like nails scrapping against the hard surface, he fought against the clingy maw of the stone, until released him with a sudden pop. The lithe puppy, tumbled backwards, landing on pile of miscellaneous bones. For the first time, light began to filter into his bright, yellow eyes and he blinked them a few times as he adjusted to the intensity. His vison scrambled to find its bearings and eventually focused on the older Gembound standing before him. The whippet pup shook the confusion from his head and looked up at Pharoah. A wide grin spread across his lips. "Play?!" He barked hopefully, tongue lolling to the side. There was so much energy bound in his bones, begging to be discharged. The black and white whippet reared and pawed at the air before hopping into a crouched position with his rump playfully sticking up like an obsidian rock. His eyes sparkled. "Play! Play! Play!" The Gemling's elated giggles burst out of him like sparks. He launched himself at Pharoah to playfully nip at his pelt. @Pharoah |
