Come on out of your dreams
Grown upon the mossy ground in which blanketed this area stretched a chrysalis hinted with violet, but clouded from whatever substance wished to conceal whatever may rest inside. However, a great part to the gem seemed to have shattered, leaving an opening to the painted interior within it. Lying near was a creature considerably small for what it was and the shards of the chrysalis it once grew from. It had lain quiet for a moment or so before head would slightly tilt in telling to the life in which riddled the little form. There was a feeling of movement within sockets of skull. The action of bright eyes gradually uncovering selves, but to only be met with the darkness they greatly thought in morphing into something other than nothing. Even if sight was given the absence of a scene likely spectacular to his mind, body knew well in the matter it sought to fulfill. The substance in which filled his lungs came foreign; perhaps knowingly unusual from its common state. It was as if the young soul could suffocate from the thickness this air held. Limbs were sprawled while the tiny roll that is his tail lightly moved side to side in wagging. Slowly, the sound of water rushing down filled ears, flicking one to every splash he caught from the rest in which came. Senses were finally reporting in to each of their roles, though, to any telling to whether eyes would allow him to gaze upon the area, nose was better suited for the matter within this certain moment. Seconds turned into minutes before skull began to take its allowance in turning to face where the large waterfall rained. It sounded amazing the more ears tuned in, but there was no way mind would take it into fact until it could percieve. With that, forelimbs adjusted themselves to rest straight forward versus spread apart. Despite wanting them to move first, hind legs unfolded from under and pushed rear upward, putting him into a bow. Expression seemed displeased at the lack of effort front half was putting into this. Although once Kyorai began wobbling backwards, limbs attempted to lift entire self up to not cause the pup to practically drag self across the ground. Steps were finally presenting a way for him to move around, but as he staggered, balance was lost as form tumbled down the small hill it was brought upon. There came a thought of being trapped since paws could not feel for any flat ground while he flailed a bit in trying to get back onto belly. It seemed self was stuck in the middle of an depression surrounded by hills. The pup softly whimpered, carefully rising back up to all fours, figuring out how to safely climb out while attempting to crawl up a hill with little progress being made.

RE: Washed Out - Septiezal - Dec 18 2016
Flame-like, serpentine eyes observed the hatching below with mild disinterest. It was nothing new, nothing exciting, just the birth of a Gembound. The large python had seen it all before. More than often, they provided an easy snack for the ever growing snake, but this time, his stomach did not compel him to hunt. Draped over a mossy ledge, Septiezal's thick body slid sluggishly over his soft bed of greenery as he shifted position, allowing his belly and tail to hang off the edge like limp vines. He could feel his cold-blooded body slowly becoming an uncomfortable temperature. Even in Pisces, the heat still invaded. The whole cave seemed to becoming hotter now that he thought about it. Soon, he would have to slink off to ponds to cool off.
Septiezal's eyes shifted back back to the young Gemling as his vision caught a glimpse of a grey ball of fur tumbling down a hill. Oh, those horrible hills an their unevenness. They must be the bane of every Gemling with legs. Septiezal felt lucky that he could traverse such terrain with ease on his belly. Legs, bah! Who needs them! He chuckled at the dog's clumsiness and found himself even more amused at the little one's pitiful attempt to climb back up.
"You're not going anywhere." He said wispily, as if his voice breathed smoke instead of words. "Not on clumsy limbs like those."

Come on out of your dreams
Movement was a bit forceful in the unnecessary need for strength. It was the last thing body needed to worry about as focus should be more on how to combine to motions into one. Little form already seemed tired from trying to climb up the incline of land, though mind without thought had given up on the objective of escaping. He lain still at the base to the hill in which forbad his exploration, throwing self around to have back facing the hill. Sloppily seated he was, gaze shifting about while ears listened for any change in waves; more so, if any hill stood shorter as the lower they were, the less sound was blocked. All gave the notion in being equal, but one specked a bit of hope upon him. Walking remained an unbalanced mess, however, limbs appeared to have caught a middle as of now. Tiny nose sniffled about the hill in which hearing sworn it was the best out of the bunch that surrounded. The pup huffed in having to give this another go. Before forelimbs could press up against the inclined ground, left ear swiveled in the direction a sound was picked up from. Though, it was not the crashing noise of the waterfall, it was not really a "noise" at all, but a voice. Mind registered words, tongue moving around in maw to gain a taste for them. Vision remained useless in telling what the being behind the words was, although smell could perhaps clue at something. Sniffing about, eyes drew over to the stranger unexpectedly. There presence felt stronger in the way he looked so, he knew sight was on the right path. Mouth opened, but it was to tell off the want in saying "oh", but vocals had refrained from uttering out the sound for a second. "Clumsy? How can I make them not so clumsy? I would like to go somewhere." Questions and a statement finally escaped from his mouth, distraught at the thought that form would be stuck here within this hollow ground. Not the best way to start out that's for sure. As eyes blinked away, vision had begun to set in with an odd form gradually bleeding into his line of sight. Skull tilted to the side from being intrigued, wondering if the figure would get better the closer he got. Bringing self to put effort in getting up this hill, the pup tried pulling form up with mostly forelimbs for this climb. It seemed to produce better progress than his last action in doing. Body wiggled up once he felt ground flatten with every movement forward. Sadly, sight still had a blurry mask over it, but at least he could give the stranger his full presence there. Staring to where the other would be, skull tilted forward a bit in questioning. "What are you?"

RE: Washed Out - Septiezal - Dec 18 2016
The serpent lifted his head, his eyes locked on struggling little one. He was just beginning to grow bored with this awkward newborn when suddenly, the pup did something unexpected. He succeeded in escaping incline with what Septiezal could only describe as using a hidden strength. He was slightly surprised by this, perhaps he had underestimated this Gemling. Septiezal pressed forward as the little pup spoke to him in a complete sentence. He was rather impressed by his use of words, but he dare not let it show.
"Ah, it speaks." He replied flatly.
Septiezal slid his head forward and allowed it hang off the ledge so that the Gemling might see him better. His strong neck curved gently as he faced him. A forked tongue flicked patiently from his scaly lips as he listened to the pup's question. So, he had heard his little remark. As the elder in this conversation, Septiezal figured he'd share some hard learned wisdom. "The more you use them, the less clumsy they'll be." He said. "Simple as that."
He was just about to pull his head back up to the ledge and continue on his way when the Gemling dropped another question on him, a question that made him chuckle internally. He turned back to the little dog and gave him a reptilian half smile as his ember eyes flickered with amusement.
"Why, I am a Gembound, like you."

Come on out of your dreams
Objects became increasingly clear for the pup now that blindness withdrawed its spell from curious eyes. Lids shut tightly to give another clean to the clearness in which grew better and better. Revealing gaze once again, body unconsciously leaned back when the stranger came closer. Face shown the awe he happened to have while examining creature before him. Slightly confused he was, tracing eyes back and forth between legs and this limbless stranger. A part of him had a growing concern for what caused them to lose their way in walking. However, the other part was surely curious on how they were able to get here in the first place; more so, how did they move around? There could not be a way in doing so! Disbelief: that was it. Kyorai snorted with a small smile, trying to understand something mind was not prepared to comprehend yet. Without any say, paw lifted and patted some of the ground around the stranger to ensure that there was no invisible support. Attention returned to the words in which continued on from the curiosity in front of him. Foreleg pulled back shortly to allow him to examine it from the tiny advice given to the pup. Humming as he wiggled the little leg around, he would throw paw forwarded in an offhanded try to bat the stranger's snout. "W-what happened to yours? Did you lose 'em?" Questions trickled out at tongue's weak hold in preventing them from being asked. You know... eyes were showing a lot of peculiar things about this creature. Thoughts adjusted themselves to understand the encounter, but success seemed to fall short for them. Stuck in wonder, ears drew forward when an answer was given to his want in knowing what they were. Skull angled and fell down to side when they stated he was one too. But... Kyorai had limbs... and this dull coat! Maybe a little suspicious he was becoming, squinting at company to assess whether they were right about being the same thing. While giving gaze to the other, he noticed something poked out more than the rest of what covered them. Eyes lit up in realizing what the oddity could be. "Gem. Gembound." Repeating the word, he rubbed his head to see whether he had the object on his skull as well; however, all that was done was the roughing of his fur. "Gem?" The word morphed into a query, having his paw up and pointing at the other with a raised brow and a tilted head. The pup scooted a little closer to view them at a good range. Personal space was not an issue to him, at least not yet.

RE: Washed Out - Septiezal - Dec 20 2016
Septiezal watched the little Gembound as he appeared to try and comprehend his new world. He was certainly gawking at something, and Septiezal had an inkling of what it was. It was pretty obvious with the way his attention bounced from his little legs to the serpent's body. If he had been a few cycles younger, Septiezal would have been terribly offended by this, but now, that young, fiery snake once was he was had begun to cool off and harden with time. In other words, he had grown use to the curious eyes. Besides, he found it wise to conserve energy for more.. pressing matters. Before Septiezal could tell him to spit it out before he hurt himself, the pup asked a question he considered forgivably silly. The python gave him a playfully strange look and said "How can I lose something I never had to begin with?"
"Don't touch me!!" He suddenly hissed. Septiezal reeled his head back to avoid the pups encroaching paw. His mouth split open in a violent hiss and revealed a row of fiendishly sharp, hooked teeth. The snake's eyes flashed with fuming anger. Then, as suddenly as his behavior appeared, it vanished. An embarrassed looked spread across his face. Septiezal realized that a reaction like that was uncalled for, but sometimes, he just couldn't control himself."I don't like being touched.."
The serpent cleared his throat as to usher in a subject change. "Yes, Gembound, every creature in this cave is one, we are all bound by our gems." He paused to flick his tongue. "Even those of... lesser intelligence."
Septiezal lowered his head to the soft, mossy ground and allowed the rest of his stout body to spill off the ledge. Muscle rhythmically rippled under his scales as he slowly slithered towards a near by pool. "The caves are heating up." The told the Gemling as he sluggishly inched his thick mass beside him. "You'd think with me using fire magic, it'd be a paradise." The serpent let out a sarcastic chuckle. "If only I could control my own body temperature." He turned his head towards the little grey pup and slid out his tongue. "You got a name? Or do I need to give you one?"

Come on out of your dreams
Never had? The stranger never had limbs before? Expression came off quite sad about the telling; feeling as if he did wrong for pointing it out. Perhaps it held some sense. They appeared to be comfortable despite missing a few parts so, the pup would try and shake the thought away; though, as Kyorai got up to give his drying coat a quick shake, a bizarre noise and sudden movements from the other made him fall back on his rump. Mind and form had not a clue what was happening or what did happen, but ears and body plopped down while gazing at the hissing stranger in bafflement. Once he heard the problem in which drew this, skull lifted up but the rest of him remained down. He was curious as to why they disliked contact. However, it did not make much sense to him as nothing could be proven for a good reasoning; at least with how he thought. "But... the ground is touching you." He stated, giving a wondering look. It was an obvious reason for the ground being allowed to do so, but the pup was simply poking fun at their demand. Standing once more after reassuring that self was safe from harm, this say about "lesser" gembounds made him furrow his brows from the lack of knowledge he had about them. There were different types it seemed. Of course, queries began flooding mind again, but the male was able to keep them at bay this time. Not having payed much attention to company, body stumbled backwards when Kyorai saw that they had started to move. Eyes watched intently on how they were able to get around, emitting out a sound of "ah" when he realized it. Weird, but fascinating it was. Crawling beside slithering creature, a sudden wave of heat crossed him when they spoke about the temperature. It actually was quite hot and even more considering that he had a coat on. Huffing and noticing the pool not too far from them, form was ready to bolt off, but legs stopped for a second when another matter came around: magic. In no way did thoughts consider the possibility of them being magical! "Fire! That's... quite dangerous." He said, imagining such flames which only made him pant from the feeling of increasing heat. Everything about them only made him question life more and more. However, the question quickly turned to himself as they asked for a name. Oh... what could it be? His eyes darted around in gathering up bits and pieces to this name he needed. After a few seconds, something clicked. "Um... Ko, Kyo. Kyo... rai! Do you have one?"

RE: Washed Out - Septiezal - Dec 25 2016
The serpent stopped briefly in his tracks, turning his head steadily to meet Kyorai's face.
"Septiezal." He rasped. "My name is Septiezal."
His tongue flickered and he turned his attention back to the water. "So," he began as he started to slither. "Kyorai is it?" Septiezal reached the water's edge and paused to dip his nose in it. Thankfully, the temperature seemed just right. Like a river of lava, the massive snake slowly flowed into the shallow pool, creating smooth rings that disturbed its placid surface. Septiezal slipped under the water, making an elegant U-turn and lifted his head to the surface, resting it on the bank.
"It would do you good not to state something so stupidly obvious." Septiezal continued. There was a subtle harshness in his tone. He was referring to Kyorai's earlier comment on the ground touching him. Septiezal could forgive such words from a newly hatched, but it still made him cringe with irritation. Perhaps he could save him from being rude, or something. After all, weren't newborns in need of guidance? "In other words, don't be a little smart-ass." He snapped. "Everyone has personal boundaries, and the ground does not count!" Good, now that he gave this youngling a lesson on manners, he could settled down and take a more friendly approach on the subject of magic.
"Yes, fire." Septiezal smiled. His eyes sparkled delight."Watch this."
The serpent lifted his head high from the water and curved it gracefully in an "S" shape. A warm glow came from within his throat and he opened his mouth wider. Arching back, Septiezal aimed for a near by stalagmite a few puppy lengths away. He spat out a flaming substance that splattered on the formation, causing it to heat up and melt down a little ways before cooling off. Septiezal turned back to Koyrai, allowing some pleasure to seep through while still obtaining his dignified stance. Internally, he was gleaming with pride at his near perfect demonstration.

Come on out of your dreams
Head nodded when the reptile said his name, mouthing it along as if trying to gain practice for the name he gave himself. Even if it was a result of his own mind's thoughts, the name did come weird to speak than it was to think. Hearing the other's, his did not seem as strange now. "Oh, such a weird name. Mmm, Sepy." He crooned, finding it slightly difficult to pronounce each part of their name. The pup decided to stick a simpler form of it, even though tongue finally got use to it after being repeated a few times. Sight watched as Septiezal entered the pond he noticed before, focusing on how they moved more than anything else. Legs slowly brought him closer which urged him to take a light sip of the liquid once near. Attention drew back when he heard the other refer back to his unnecessary statement about the ground, causing Kyorai to raise a brow while chin rested on chest again. "Maybe it is good. Personal boundaries are no fun though!" He huffed while lightly snickering, wrinkling his nose as if smelling some disgust to the matter. It seemed good to always state the obvious, however, what he pointed at did come as a no-brainer in terms of the subject.
Ears perked when Septiezal mentioned element from early, tilting skull from the smile in which crossed their face. Then, they demanded him to watch. The pup was not sure where to look, but he decided to watch the reptile do his magical moves to see the direction they would likely point to. Observing the opening of their peculiar mouth, eyes squinted at the warm glow reaching out. A surprised expression came across his face, scooting a few inches back when they moved to aim. Without thought, body went to duck down when the fiery substance came out. Tiny tail wagged, but the rest of him seemed concerned about target for this show. However, he would not get too caught up by it—hopping up and running over to the pond while still viewing the poor stalagmite used for this.
Readying to leap into the small body of water, as forelegs pushed for one last stride, form tilted forward a little too far in causing the pup to press on chest and slide to edge of pond. Kyorai flipped onto back, splashing some water as bottom half met it. Eh, not a perfect ten, but at least there was some effort. Rolling onto belly and looking back at stalagmite with awe, he wondered if he could do the same. "Amazing! Are there others that can do that or are you the only one?" A question came along, peering over shoulders with expectant eyes. There were a lot of things he could imagine doing if he had such an ability. All the fun he could have destroying, well, helping things progress. Filled with excitement, he struggled to keep up on only his hind legs while trying to "cast" fire on the same target in which suffered; though it only brought him to fall back into the water again. "I wanna learn! Can I learn?" Kyorai asked as he looked up at the snake, lying on his back.

RE: Washed Out - Septiezal - Jan 16 2017
Septiezal ignored Kyorai's remark on personal boundaries. He wanted to give the youngster a pop on the nose with his tail for being so inconsiderate, but he refrained. There was something about the word "Sepy" that simultaneously made his scales crawl, and brought warmth to his cold heart.
He watched as Kyorai ran towards the pond. He went to twist his body in preparation for a for an annoying splash from the canine but cringed instead when the pup fell on his chest and toppled on his back as his rump slapped the water. "Are you alright?" He meant to ask, but the python could not muster the words within him. He just stared at the clumsy pup, and settled back into the water.
The serpent cracked a reptilian smile at Kyorai and his question. Where has he heard this question before? Ah yes, from a little lion cub. He even asked himself the same thing when he was just a snakelet. "Everyone can summon magick." The snake lifted his tail above the water and pointed at Kyorai. "Even you."
"I have never met a Gembound that couldn't."
I was almost endearing to have another Gembound fascinated by his magick. Septiezal found amusement in the pups clownish attempted to reenact his spell. He wondered what kind of wondrous element bubbled deep within Kyorai. He looked down at the young one, who had fallen on his back thanks to a lack of balance, and flicked his tongue patiently. "In time you will." He assured him.
