nature always wears the colors of the spirit - Riley - Dec 19 2016
A kitten who had just awoken from what felt like a very long nap stretched her limbs and opened her mouth to yawn — but she found she could not breathe. Amniotic fluid filled her lungs as she choked a little on it, and she decided immediately that she needed to escape this situation. Without thinking, she shoved all four limbs out, splayed, spread-eagle, and her paws touched the smooth malachite walls of her chrysalis. Opening her eyes would have been useless, for malachite was not like a faceted gemstone. It allowed no light through. But she didn’t need light to know how to push —
— and she pushed so hard that everything shattered around her and her world exploded into scents and sounds. Her eyes opened and the world was so vibrant it was blinding. She tumbled head-over-heels over the broken remains of her chrysalis, and somehow landed on her feet (like all cats do), and looked around with wide, green eyes that were full of life and wonder and excitement. Where should she go first? What should she do? The calls of Lesser Gembound birds echoed like music in the trees. Eridanus was infused with green-gold light. And what in the Cave were those… slightly creepy twin pools of dark water? Curiously, Riley tilted her head to one side, and took one step forward.

Come on out of your dreams
A day or two had brought itself around, but really it was just a few hours to whatever bit of time he could think about. Movement was becoming stable as the stranger before told him. He surely came to use stumpy limbs more as there was much to explore! A young heart always carried a thirst for adventure and a craving for knowledge. It was a simple, but beautiful thing life issued to those starting up. With that, little form left its initial birthplace once he figured out a way through those horrid hills. Such a problem when ye yourself was tiny, but secretly did mind know it was a matter of time before he could dominate them fully. Shaking out coat, Kyorai trailed along a tunnel he found while sauntering about this cave. Of course, a lot of hesitance filled his core, but that was not enough to deter him from what thoughts posted up. Slowly entering the opening, his way of navigating would take off from there—leading him to a part overrun with greenery. The cushioning of moss along the ground was not foreign to him. It had actually stood quite pleasing at it came to be the first thing he stepped on. Though, problems started arising sooner rather than later as he halted from moving about the area more. Bright eyes stared at the plant life around—slightly watering from the strain he was putting on them. Everything remained a glob filled mess as eyes were continuing to adjust themselves from the time he began walking these caves. Despite the issue with viewing, nose proved itself again by leading the pup somewhere from this observation problem. Luckily, it was able to lead him down a worn out path in calming the pup from believing he would get lost. Before passing on his merry way, steps ceased when he heard something not even a few feet away from him. Gaze drawn toward the direction from where waves came from with a figure slowly bleeding into the blurriness surrounding. Little tail wagged lightly in excitement from this new thing he had come across; although with the incoming clearness of vision, he examined the new creature with a tilted skull. There were a whole lot of differences from the other he encountered. This one actually had limbs! Checking the area around the stranger, other things began building a bigger picture. Moving out from where he stood, behind the creature, Kyorai would slam down a paw right next to them in mimicking the unknowingly first step for the kitten. "A-are you clumsy?" An awkward question it was to ask, but seeing this encounter had some similarities to his own—the word in which the other he had met had brought itself forward into his mind. It was practically an inquiry of whether they were new just with the wrong wording.

Riley’s curiosity about the twin pools was interrupted by a sound nearby. She turned her bright green gaze towards whatever had just spoken, and saw a little black fuzzy creature looking at her inquisitively. Its words entered her brain and it took her a moment or two to figure out what it had asked her, but then everything seemed to fall into place, and she smiled in understanding. She thought back to her escape from her chrysalis just a minute ago and said, “I don’t think I’m clumsy. I landed on my feet!” She sat down, her grey-tan-brown fur all sticking out in odd directions from the amniotic fluid she’d been held in for so long. Her brows drew together in curiosity, bottom lip sticking out as she pondered a question. “Are you clumsy?”

Come on out of your dreams
There was some slight confusion in which filled Kyorai when the feline spoke about landing on her paws. It made the pup question in how she fell in the first place; though, once thoughts brought back the entire scene initially, bright gaze strayed to where she supposedly came from. Ah, mind was gearing up the similarities at a more precise rhythm now. A small snort sounded from him when the feline pushed the question back his way. Well, there was not a time he could remember in tumbling down a hill from the other times he has. The pup felt certain he was a master in terms of avoiding clumsiness. So, there stood no way for him to be such anymore. "No, not anymore! I've been practicing!" He exclaimed, plopping his rear down in follow along with the kitten. Eyes absorbed her entire appearance—looking at the gem upon her head mostly. Wondering about the placement of his again, paw reached to rub over skull. Still nothing... sadly. Whether gem would ever make it atop his own head was beyond his knowing. Shrugging it off, nose began sniffing as he tried smelling the feline. It was a weird scent covering her, a bit familiar if he thought on it more. "You've got some weird stuff on ya." He stated, tempted to give the kitten a lick. Kyorai let his gaze drift before noticing the two pools within this area. Hopping onto stubby legs again, he trotted to the twin pools; examining the one that caught his attention the most. "Oh!" He said aloud, peering over at his company. The pup turned fully around, seating himself once more. This was something that could get rid of that odd smell, but he was interested in whether the feline would come close to these pools.

Riley happily accepted the lick of the little puppy, and attempted a lick of her own in return. So he wasn’t clumsy. Well, that was good! They could be not-clumsy together, she supposed. They could jump on stuff… climb stuff… Yeah! They’d have loads of fun together! She opened her mouth to suggest that they go have fun, but her friend seemed to have disappeared. She looked around quickly, and saw him sitting much closer to the two pools of water that had previously caught her attention. He seemed as if he wanted her to approach, but suddenly, all curiosity about those pools went out the window, and her natural cat instincts kicked in and told her that she hated water. “Yuck!” she exclaimed, backing away. “I don’t like water!” Sure, she was covered in gross sticky fluid, but she’d much prefer that to the feel of cold water on her. Besides, there was something really creepy about those pools, anyways. Like, maybe it would be a bad idea if they touched the water inside…

Come on out of your dreams
Ears could not believe what they were hearing. Staring at the kitten in which uttered disgust about the pools he was near, he went a bit on the defense for the small bodies of liquid knowing that they could not speak for themselves. "That's impossible! You have to like water, it's good for you!" He exclaimed, squinting at the kitten while wondering what he could do to bring her over to the water. Mind's worries about the two pools were nonexistent as there seemed to be no atmosphere in which caught his concern. Humming, thoughts tried to understand why they did not like the liquid... since it was a nice little necessity to have every now and then. Though, the male felt that she needed it now. Checking about the area, Kyorai sauntered over to a leaf that was about the size of his head. He tugged at it to have it release from where it stuck itself. If she did not want to come to the water, he would try to bring it over himself. Heading back to one of the pools, the pup gripped one end of the leaf and put the other end under the water. Carefully bringing the leaf out of liquid, it was holding up just a bit, but half of the water seem to escape from the makeshift cup. Kyorai slightly tilted his head upward to prevent anymore from spilling, ignoring the water's persistence to seep into his nostrils. He waddled over to his company in being careful not to spill anymore. Once he was close to the feline, a quarter of the liquid was left; enough to take one, two sips or... throw some droplets at her. "Here! See, it's not bad at all!" He said with muffled words, slowly coming closer to her in each passing minute.
