Into the Blue - Kin-Kin - Jan 02 2017 Kin-Kin had never been this way before, and she could tell in an instant why. It felt like by continuing at all, she might be being a little too sanguine. Her fur was already beginning to stand on end as she moved forward, no matter how hard she tried to suppress the tremors. the odd mist that hung here seemed to cling to her fur, a feeling that she very much disliked. When she came upon the next pool of water, she'd definitely need to groom it down again... ugh. The gentle clinking of her sword against its crystalline sheath echoed down the tunnel ahead of her. Even the glow that lingered in her fur failed to light up the tunnel ahead of her, so she couldn't tell if anything was coming. She didn't like how empty it felt in here. As boring as it was, it also meant that if something came, there'd be no way of knowing and no way of hiding. Of course, with her magic, Kin-Kin would easily be able to fix that. A smirk lit up her formerly stoic face. With some effort, she tried to tear away some of the light that her fur gave out, in an effort to light the world ahead. But no matter how hard she tried though, the magic slipped out of her reach, leaving her mildly frustrated as she continued on in the dark. " speech " @Ozias RE: Into the Blue - Ozias - Jan 02 2017
@kin-kin RE: Into the Blue - Kin-Kin - Jan 02 2017 Finally, Kin-Kin saw a light at the end of the tunnel, although it unfortunately wasn't her own. There was a figure there as well, and as she picked up the pace she heard a voice rising to greet her. The wolf approached, her feminine figure laced with light. "Name's Kin-Kin," she responded as she stepped out from the darkness, a glint in her violet eyes. "Magical champion of all the caves. You say show yourself but... I'd say I'm a little hard to miss." She gave a small snort of laughter all her teeth bared into a sanguine grin. As she came to a halt, the crystal blade at her side softly clinked, and she shrugged her shoulders to adjust the silken cape so that it lay across her back. "Who're you? And what're you doing?" she asked, approaching without so much as a shred of fear. Why would she be afraid? She was her. She was powerful. They could see from a glance that she had a blade on her leg, and one she made with magic no less. " speech " @Ozias RE: Into the Blue - Ozias - Jan 02 2017

"Ruler, huh?" Kin-Kin seemed interested, but she wasn't about to treat them as the ruler they seemed to want to be. "Where'd ya get that idea? Do tell." Though it did seem quite snarky, part of her was genuinely curious. Had someone given them that honour, or were they simply self-proclaimed? Self-proclaimed titles, she imagined, would never be as rewarding as having a real one like her own. Besides, what did they want her to do? Bow down and grovel at their paws? She didn't want to messy her golden fur, so she wouldn't. Ah, they asked for her purpose. Call her unprepared, but she really didn't have one. But did she really need one? The caves belonged to no-one, and the way she saw it, the places her paws carried her was for no-one else to decide. "I'm exploring and building my skills. Do I really need any other purpose?" Her skills weren't the only thing that was growing... her " speech " @Ozias RE: Into the Blue - Ozias - Jan 02 2017

"Well, I can respect that," Kin-Kin admitted reluctantly, pricking her ears towards Ozias. she seemed amused by the thought of a band of misfits and mischief makers but she was no misfit; as a matter of fact, she thought herself to be very popular in these here caves, widely loved and respected and a role model to a great many Gemlings. She didn't have any proof of that, of course, but she could feel it in her bones, she was sure. Despite her words, her face still bore its own mischievous smirk, as it had for many cycles. "Well, ya've searched me. Can I pass yet?" she asked, her curiosity piqued by the glimpse she could see of the room behind the other canine. she motioned with a twitch of her muzzle past them. That is, until they offered her the opportunity to boast, and suddenly she was interested in Ozias again. Her muzzle parted into a toothy grin and she took a deep breath. Her fur was already aglow with the slight magic she always emitted, but she knew another way to impress them. She cleared her throat. "Well," she began, "as champion, you'll not find anyone more skilled at magic than me!" she boasted, holding her head high. "I can be beautiful, but also dangerous. I have traveled long and far with the intent of becoming who I am. And when I earned my title, I wasn't even at full strength. Oh no!" With that, the light that shone around Kin-Kin began to refract, and suddenly her fur and gem was bursting with all the colours of the rainbow. Standing tall, Kin-Kin looked expectantly at the other canine for their reaction. " speech " @Ozias |
