A kitten learning to live - Aceus - Jan 08 2017
Aceus awakens in the complete darkness. Her eyes fly open in shock, the walls of wherever she is in feel as if they have enclosed around her. Frightened by all of this she starts frantically scratching and hitting the walls of the chrysalis. Suddenly, a crack forms and with a little more effort she rolls clumsily out of the hole she managed to make in the chrysalis and she finds herself now in a rocky area. Aceus tries to stand up completely confused and feeling very weak. Her legs wobble and she falls once, twice.. Three times in her struggles to get up, finally she manages to stand and tries to walk. Inside her a voice is telling her to find someone, anyone who can explain all of this to her. For now however, she is tired, so she sleeps.
There are many rock slabs jutting out of the walls, when she wakes Aceus attempts to climb to a higher slab so as to be able to see better.

Astaroth was walking through Orion, thinking about events already come to past in his short time in the cave. He started when he saw something climbing a stack of stone. "Hey!" He called at the creature joyfully, he hadn't seen another gem all day, he was feeling more and more lonely, he ran towards the bottom of the stack and looked up to her with his head cocked. He looked confused Who? "You're knew aren't you? When did you emerge?" He made sure to say this slowly, gently, he knew it was scary when you first emerge "Where did you emerge? Do you have a name yet?"

Shocked at the voice Aceus looked up quickly nearly slipping while she climbed. "What? Who are you?"[ she asked shyly beginning to shake slightly from fear. "I think i just.. em... eme..." She looked at the wolf hoping to convey the word that she could not yet say. "I.. I dont have a name, am i supposed to?" This part she said while looking down at her paws sightly upset at her confusion. "All of this is just so confusing.." Aceus whispered softly closing her eyes in an attempt not to cry.

"It's ok, you're ok, just come down, I'll tell you anything you wanna know."
He sat at the bottom of the slab. He cocked his head at her and wagged his tail. He was trying his best not act threatening, to act harmless and not scare her.

Aceus opened her eyes sensing only friendliness in Astoroth's voice, "Okay, although i'm not entirely sure how to get down..." She said meekly beginning to slowly crawl down the slab, slipping a little bit. "Wha... What is this place? What am I... How did I get here??" Ace starts rambling as she comes down, "Who are you? What are you? Your kind of big? Are you gonna hurt me?" Suddenly all of her questions from when she woke in that chrysalis just came flying out of her mouth.

Astaroth looked up at her bemusedly, he lowered his head to the ground and jumped up to her, the ledge was actually rather low to the ground, he supposed the effort getting up there must be from her just having emerged. "So, I should give you a name if you've just emerged... I'll call you Aceus, Ace for short, my name is Astaroth, you can call me whatever though. You're in a place called Origin Cave... we an all the other gembounds live here stay here and eventually die here. I'm a wolf..." He squinted at her "I'm not sure what you are, there aren't any others like you right now... Um... but my friend probably does... his name is Bartos, he knows everything. Now before you slip and fall, jump onto my back. I won't hurt you." He lowered himself to let her climb on.

Aceus looked down at the Wolf confused but feeling an odd mix of interest and adoration for this large creature. She quickly jumped onto his back slumping into a ball and enjoying the sudden warmth she felt compared to the cold of the slab. "Aceus? I.. I like that. Can... can i call you Az?" An idea soon came to her mind as she was speaking. "What is this 'Bartos'? Is he nice? Like you? Where is he? Can we go find him?" She asked quickly and filled with curiosity.

"Like I said, call me whatever you want." Astaroth slowly brought himself and the cat down to the ground, picking her up off his back and lying her on the ground by the scruff of her neck and laying down against a slab himself. "So, when did you wake up? I woke up a couple cycles ago." Astaroth yawned and laid his head on his paw, looking at the young cub She couldn't be more than an hour old... not even that. He kept looking at her curiously, pondering what she could be."Hey, you wanna see a cool trick?" Astaroth lifts his head and looks out into the darkness of the cave "HELLO!" He yells, but it doesn't come from him, it comes from somewhere off in the distance.

Aceus jolts upward in shock when the noise comes from somewhere else.. "How... How did you do that??". She began to shake in fear and confusion all over again at Az. "I'm not sure... I didn't wake long ago... i fell asleep after i got out... and then i woke up not that long ago." She said attempting not to stumble over her words.

Astaroth slightly snickers at her sudden fright."Don't worry, it's just something I can do, it's not dangerous, in fact, it kinda saved me once. You'll eventually learn how to do things like it, maybe even more impressive things, I know I'm still learning how to use my abilities" He looked at her and put his tail around her, using his leg to pull her close. "For now though, rest, we'll need it if we're gonna look for Bartos later."
