Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Astaroth - Feb 04 2017
Astaroth felt cold, dead. Like all happiness had been sapped from his body. He felt empty, without purpose. Like an ember in a dying fire, fading to black. He felt the flame dying away by the second. He stalked toward the spire, his ears rushing from the rage he felt, the bloodlust that could only be quenched in fighting. Yes, a fight, tat's what he needs. A good bloodrush, a bloodbath. A way to bring the fire back.
"Speaking." Thoughts. tags: @Eira notes: RE: Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Eira the Undying - Feb 04 2017 Like many others in the cave, Eira had been whisked away into a deep sleep... one that took her away from all duties, all semblance of sentience and most upsettingly, away from the memories of her age-old partner, who had so long ago faded away into irrelevance. the mustelid's short and stubby legs carried her as she wandered, deep in thought. Her red eye flickered as she swung her head from side to side, taking in the sights... or, what remained of them, anyway. Her eyesight was already poor, and this darkness did not help. this darkness that she'd found herself in... it had to be demons responsible. The otter didn't know how long she'd been gone, but she knew that it had cost the caves much. That thought deeply disturbed her, the guilt chilling her to the core. And to top that off, was there even anyone left? She had emerged from her royal chrysalis to find the den that she and Kimen had shared empty. Her own chrysalis had remained where she had sat for so long, patiently guarding its entrance like a shamed temple dog. Head heavy with thought and her stony mask, Eira almost failed to notice the other being blending into the darkness, at least not until they almost bumped shoulders. Eira's lithe body tensed up, her red eye fixating upon them; the first being that she'd met in many cycles. Etiquette left her; she didn't quite know how to speak for a few heavy moments, her breaths hanging upon the air. They... were taller than she was, but upon peering at them with her good eye she was able to work out that it was a youngling. New to the caves. Or at the very least, new compared to her. The otter coughed and cleared her throat. "Young one," she greeted, like a knight to his squire. "I am Eira, guardian of these caves in cycles past... Do tell, do you have any idea regarding the whereabouts of the demon causing this darkness?" And maybe... you've seen Kimen too? Her gaze fixed on them, unbroken. If she could eliminate this darkness and bring back the light, perhaps she wasn't a complete failure. --- "Speech looks like this." "Demon... no, I am the only demon here and I haven't caused this. From what I've heard some idiot broke the generator. And do not call me 'young one'. I may be younger than you in physique but I have learned of these caves and their history from the ancient ones and I know more than most. buried knowledge tends to come up in places unexpected. And with it comes knowledge of the nature of this world, of the hypocrisy of life, of the hopelessness that resides everywhere in these caves. Yes, I know more than most, and that's why I must kill you, or at least gravely harm you. Fighting seems to have a way of clearing the mind. I apologize in advance." Astaroth started moving towards the creature, Eira. head hanging low, legs tensing in preparation to lunge at her. He knocked himself into her and placed his legs on each of hers, holding her with her ack against the floor, he snarled, saliva dripping down from his open maw.
Round I/? Astaroth v. Eira Attack: Pin her to the ground. Defenses: Jaws open and outstretched, holding her down. Injuries: Scar on face "Speaking." Thoughts. tags: @Eira notes: RE: Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Eira the Undying - Feb 05 2017 As she listened to their words, a spark came into Eira's eye, and her features suddenly turned from her usual stoic expression to one of purpose-driven rage. "Demon," She echoed, a snarl parting her lips. "Don't give yourself more credit than you are worth." The adrenaline was already beginning to pump through her veins, her scars whispering red as the blood vessesls throughout her body swelled. If there are demons hiding among us, the caves are in a worse state than I thought... Without giving them the chance to act, the battle-worn otter threw herself forward, aiming straight for their neck, aiming to rip out their windpipe and send blood gushing into the open air. If they didn't react in time then this battle would be over before it had even begun. Eira was a battle-hardened one; they'd picked the wrong fight today, and it may have been their last. Round: 1/10 Attack: go for the neck Defense: none Wounds: one eye, various scars. --- "Speech looks like this." "Thoughts looks like this." tags: @astaroth notes: here RE: Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Astaroth - Feb 06 2017
Astaroth snorted at her comment "I give myself much less credit than you seem to give yourself." He reared back as she went for his throat, barely dodging the near fatal attack, he would have to be more careful it seemed. He bit for the underside of her jaw, though not for the throat... yet. He wanted this to last. He could feel that fire coming back. Could feel the energy rushing back into his limbs, yes, this was what he needed.
Round II/? Attempt: Bite her under her jaw. Defense: Dodge back from her attack. Injuries: scar on face "Speaking." Thoughts. tags: @Eira notes: Sorry for short length, I'm really bad at drawing out fight posts, seem to run out of things to say. RE: Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Eira the Undying - Feb 06 2017 Eira spun around as she skidded past them, leaving as little of an opening as she could muster. Their jaws collided uselessly with the stony mask upon her face; if they wanted to have a chance? They'd need a new strategy. The otter bit her tongue, biting back a reply as sharp as her fangs. All they were doing was trying to goad her, force her into a rage that could only lead to mistakes. But Eira wasn't going to fall for it. This demon was fucking unbelievable if they really believed their words. Eira had trained for her title, fought for longer than they'd been alive. And if she had to defend that title from a child then so be it. Given half the chance, she'd rip a demon limb from limb to defend her title. Eira's eye once more flashed, and this time when she leaped she aimed for their back, aiming to grab them, and hang there where they couldn't reach her. Being the smaller creature in many of the battles she had been in, it was a tried and tested technique that usually worked like magic. Round: 2/10 Attack: grab and cling onto the wolf's back Defense: none Wounds: one eye, various scars. --- "Speech looks like this." "Thoughts looks like this." tags: @astaroth notes: here RE: Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Astaroth - Feb 06 2017 Sorry, forgot to post attempt in previous post~
Astaroth had expected a good fight by the scars on the creature. "Maybe you should watch your opponent as you strike instead of believing that whatever you do works toward your advantage. He was surprised when she jumped onto his back, latching her claws into his flesh, he tried to dodge but wasn't successful. He started to run, swerving side to side quickly, throwing his weight with minimal effort, if they wanted to jump onto his back, a highly dishonorable move in his opinion, then they can have a ride while they're at it, at least he could tire them out as they clung on. "I find it strange that you think so highly of yourself, though you fight with no respect to your opponent. A very bad idea. If one is to be the self proclaimed 'guardian' of the caves then they have to have respect for everything in the caves."
Round: III/? Attempt: Dodge her Defense: Running and swerving side to side quickly Injuries: Scar on face "Speaking." Thoughts. tags: @Eira notes: Staff Note: Please, move your post to the new post with the roll and ask for the messed up one to be deleted. Thanks. RE: Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Eira the Undying - Feb 06 2017 Eira said nothing, instead allowing them to get riled up themselves. She trusted her judgement, and her motions; if they thought that this was dishonourable, then let them figure out by themselves how to fight an opponent many times their own size and many times their age. Well... that is, if they managed to live. Now, wouldn't that be convenient for them. They threw their weight around, trying to buck her off, but Eira hooked in her small claws and curled her rubbery fingers into their mane. She wasn't going to let go, not for anything. A fire burning inside of her, the otter opened her jaws as wide as she could and clamped down, trying to pierce flesh and chew their spine, or at the very least draw blood. Round: 3/10 Attack: bite down Defense: she's out of his reach. Wounds: one eye, various scars. --- "Speech looks like this." "Thoughts looks like this." tags: notes: here RE: Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Astaroth - Feb 06 2017
Astaroth was disappointed in his inability to buck off the creature clinging to his back, he looked back and took a quick hop when he saw her preparing to bite him. He stopped suddenly, and started to roll, hoping to knock her off of him. He wouldn't lose this fight to a low move like this, if you were going to fight you better look your opponent in the eyes. His blood was rushing, he could feel the pounding of his heart as well as hear it.
Round: IV/? Attempt: knock her off Defense: None ig, maybe the rolling? injuries: scar on face "Speaking." Thoughts. tags: @Eira notes: RE: Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Eira the Undying - Feb 06 2017 Finally, they seemed to have seen some sense and shut their goddamned yapper. that was a relief; if they'd continued much longer, she might have tried to rip their tongue right out of their jaw as it flapped. Eira at first tried to hold on, but she knew when it was time to let go. The moment they began to roll she hopped off, before turning back towards them. This was it; they'd made an opening just for her. The otter didn't hesitate, not even for a moment. In an instant, she was going for them, fangs bared, aiming to sink her fangs into their belly. Round: 4/10 Attack: bite their belly Defense: --- Wounds: one eye, various scars. --- "Speech looks like this." "Thoughts looks like this." tags: @Astaroth notes: here |
