[AW] Streets of Gold - Frigga - Feb 14 2017 RE: [AW] Streets of Gold - Kin-Kin - Feb 15 2017
Kin-Kin's glow felt more beautiful by the day, especially in this darkness. The river reflected her gilded face whenever she looked down, the light fragmenting with the ripples on its surface. Kin-Kin knew that this place was almost as bright and beautiful as she was, so the wolf had decided that whilst the caves were dark, she would leave. And very soon. In honesty, the main reason Kin-Kin stayed here was because it seemed to be a melting pot for Gembounds of all sifferent shapes and sizes, all of which seemed to love a good lightshow. Why else would they have come to Polaris, after all? The thought had caused Kin-Kin to stop and consider it just a little longer. After all, the wolf didn't have any worldly possessions that were keeping her in one place, aside from her sword. and that was wrapped comfortably around her right foreleg. She could take it anywhere. The attachments she had to this place were, honestly, flimsy at best. Her time gazing into her reflection was suddenly broken by the distant sound of something breaking. Kin-Kin's face turned into a wry smile, her ears perking up for a moment. here we go again, she thought as she padded in the direction of the sound, her golden fur shifting over lithe muscles. wonder what it'll be this time. What Kin-Kin didn't expect however, was perfection. As she came close enough for the little bundle to be illuminated by her light, Kin-Kin was taken aback by the sight of... another golden wolf. Kin-Kin's brows perked, her tail waving slowly from side to side. her crystal sword combined with her glow cast fragmented rainbows onto the ground all around them. "Hey, kiddo," Kin-Kin greeted them, smirking as though she was looking in a mirror at her own glorified past. "Welcome to the cave." " speech " @Frigga RE: [AW] Streets of Gold - Frigga - Feb 15 2017 A sneeze escaped the newly hatched Gembound, bicolored eyes blinking in an attempt to see what was around her. But alas, it was jet black and dark. But then, something bright and glowing came towards her. The golden wolf had to screw her eyes up as the glowing thing came towards her. When her eyes adjusted to the glow of the light, Frigga noticed that it was another creature. Another wolf! And she looks similar to her. "H-Hi..." Frigga squeaked, trying to get clumsy paws underneath her. "The cave? What is that?" She asked, peering around. But past the other golden wolf's glow, it was dark. No light, no nothing. "Why is it so dark?" Frigga said, looking up at the female wolf, tilting her head adorably. @Kin-Kin RE: [AW] Streets of Gold - Kin-Kin - Feb 15 2017
Kin-Kin had never expected to meet another wolf with a pelt golden like her own, and Kin-Kin wasn't sure whether she loved it or was slightly sad that she wasn't completely unique anymore. But either way, the pup wasn't completely golden... brown limbs and head, white toes and... an unusually short tail. She peered at them, wondering if they'd done something. But there was no blood to speak of, and they'd only just emerged. Kin-Kin decided that they were different enough. Besides, she was the original and as such she would always be more awesome. The she-wolf tilted her head at the pup, deep purple eyes curious. "The cave's where we are. Our home. Mightn't look like much now, but... heh, just you wait." Whilst Polaris was comparatively bright compared to the rest, it still wasn't usually this dark. Considering it more, Kin-Kin decided that she liked this little pup; their mostly-golden fur had won her over, though the she-wolf didn't quite know why. perhaps it was the idea of having a pup that looked similar to her. Kin-Kin had never considered giving life to a stone, and doubted that motherhood was any fun. It tied you down. Stopped your life in its tracks. But seeing another pup with flecks of the pelt that she was so proud of caused the she-wolf to swell with pride. Yes, this was a good feeling. A confusing one, but a good one. "Dunno. Just is," Kin-Kin answered their question unhelpfully. "It's been like that for some time. Lucky for you, though, ya've got me instead." " speech " @Frigga RE: [AW] Streets of Gold - Frigga - Feb 15 2017 RE: [AW] Streets of Gold - Kin-Kin - Feb 18 2017
Kin-Kin grinned, taking their struggle to see through her brightness as a compliment. But, after a few moments her glow had begun to dim, letting them see her with their newly-opened eyes. The adult she-wolf watched as the pup stood before her, her own plumed tail swishing behind her. "Parents are a drag, kiddo. Not many of us have... 'parents' here. Lucky for you, you've got me instead!" the wolf grinned at the pup. "But that's better, ain't it?" Kin-Kin was curious as to why they didn't see her as a parent if they were so dead set on the idea of it. As far as she knew, the only thing that really mattered was that a 'parent' was there at their hatching. And maybe looked the same, which they did. They were gold! what other wolf was gold?! Kin-Kin peered at them curiously, tilting her head to one side. Perhaps there was more to this than Kin-Kin was aware, or they could somehow 'sense' that she wasn't really a motherly type. Either way, Kin-Kin wasn't planning on going anywhere after meeting this little squirt. Maybe she'd even show them back to her den! That was motherly, right? "Anywhere you wanna go, kid. It's kinda dangerous on your own, though." " speech " |
