Happy Two Year Anniversary, Origin Cave!

On April 28^th, 2015, we celebrated The Grand Opening of Origin. Celebrate with us as we host an event for everyone! Come meet a brand new, mysterious NPC who will be giving out special spells only available during this event. It is a curious NPC who has come to investigate the Gembounds, and is eager to meet them. Don't miss your chance to meet it before it goes back home! It is a Plant based NPC who is robed, wears a mask, has straight goat-like horns, and is feeling very generous this outing. Its favorite hobby is creating things!

Pattern Painter Low Intensity Manipulation. The user can create glowing patterns on themselves, others, or surfaces with minimal or no magic use. There seems to be no point to doing this other than to decorate. The color and shape of the pattern is up to the user, or may be random if the user lets their mind's will take over. The patterns do not seem to last very long by themselves, however the more magic put into a pattern, the longer they last. (Can Roll for max # of days.)

Conjure Familiar Low Intensity Manipulation. Though not useful for anything, the user can summon forth an ethereal familiar. It is usually small, despite the shape of the creature the user may try and form. A user can only conjure a familiar with the shape of a creature they have seen before. The familiar cannot speak or understand language, but may make noises. It will follow the Gembound that conjured it, simply because that is its source of magic; but it may dissipate if separated or if brought too close to the Spire. It will disappear on its own after a while, but the user can re-summon it with a successful roll.

Starry Eyed Low Intensity Transformation. The user's eyes become iridescent, lose their pupils, and turn a marvelous shade of glowing light blue for as long as the user can focus. There seems to be no other purpose to this spell besides dazzling others.

The NPC has come to investigate the South-East and South-West quadrants, while camping out in Tunnel N of the Core. It is curiously seeking out active Gembounds to see what they are like, and what they have been up to. If you would like this NPC to enter your thread, make a new thread and Request GM "Event NPC" in your first post. If you would like to try and find the NPC yourself, post in the main event thread in Tunnel N where it will be painting a story on the wall. Your interactions with the NPC will determine what spell it rewards you with, but don't worry! You can interact with it more than once!

On its way to Tunnel N, the NPC will have initially painted on some of the cave walls. Keep an eye out for these paintings! (I'll post up a few threads where your characters can interact with the paintings, or at least observe it. There will be a few in random locations, and I'll get those threads up between APR 24-25!)

The Cave Report

Quest: To-Do List P2
Nemean grew tired of waiting for the items she requested to be brought back, and went to fetch them herself. She has fixed the generator in the meantime and turned the lights back on in the cave! She is hoping the Gembounds will return to her because she needs them to fetch Batcat for her still. So far, only the young bobcat Felina has come to see her!

Well I've lost it all, I'm just a silhouette
Aaliyah isn't doing very well! Collapsed in Orion, she tries to focus on the freshly lit cave while refusing to use any of her fire spells. Before she can do any of that, however, the gryphon Amras finds her and thinks she must be a weak and sick animal if it hasn't noticed his approach! Aaliyah turns to face the creature that chirped at her, and then struggle to understand the way it speaks.

Now and Forever
Kyorai has come across the stone from their chrysalis, and is trying to figure out what to do with them! For now he decides to bury them, and during the commotion of digging and barking, Xireidi comes to see. The do a bit of catching up, talk about mock battle tactics, and have themselves a bit of fun with a game of chase! Kyorai might blend in well with the darkness, but his little-self makes quite the noise and Xireidi is keen to pick up the small pup's scrambling. Kyorai tries some sneak attacks (definitely does not need to be rescued) and they continue their play fight until Xireidi threatens to squish little Kyorai! Unable to escape, Kyorai throws his forearms out in defeat.
