Impatience - Aluë - Sep 23 2017 The small stone egg sat hidden in foliage. Its dull green colour barely shimmered in the light and so it looked as if it were simply part of the room. Hidden away from prying eyes it did little but sit there and listen to the world around it. The little creature inside learnt the language as time passed, listening to the conversations of others and in its neonate state it even attempted to mimic words with no sound coming out. Occasionally one would hear a peeping from the stone as it got closer to its point of emergence, but one needed to really be on top of it to hear it. The creature inside was active. Moving around the stone impatiently from the moment it became aware. Its little beak occasionally tapping on the walls of its prison. This small dark space could not be all that there was could it? After all the little bird could hear activity outside his prison, that meant there had to be something going on out there right? There was of course a certain type of fear that he felt, a fear that he was wrong and the noises he heard from outside were simply his tummy grumbling. It was possible that this truly was all that existed. That he was trapped her for eternity with nothing and no one. These thoughts would quieten him down, for fear of breaking his little prison. Yet as time passed the walls of his prison became thinner. His movements more destructive. Causing hairline fractures where there had once been none. To small for the eye to see, yet large enough to let a bit of the outside air in. The first time he scented the petrichor-like smell he stilled. Calming to take in this new experience. He was still for a couple of days after that, simply enjoying the smells that reached him. In time the hairline fractures became larger, his stillness became movement and soon the cracks were letting in light. With each new development he stilled and observed and continued his movement. So much so that he hatched early. The malachite egg fractured and fell into many pieces and the small fuzzy bird was left sitting, unattended in the bushes and shrubs simply in awe of the world around him. RE: Impatience - Aluë - Sep 25 2017 The little fuzzy owl’s head twitched as a breeze ruffled his feathers, his head turned in the direction to the breeze, almost turning a full 180 till his eyes fell on the creature. His sight was still a bit blurry and the ill-defined creature simply looked like a brown mass. His body began to turn, his head remaining still while he wobbled around in a circle. Eventually he was facing the creature. He had still not said anything as he stared at the thing, trying to figure out what it was. He had heard this creature’s voice before when he was still trapped in his darkness. A sudden relief filled him as he realised that his previous fears were in vain, he had all but forgotten them in the excitement of being free. He had hatched too early though, he was still too small and too fluffy to truly fend for himself yet this he wasn’t aware of. He had never had to fend for himself before. The egg had done everything. Although the residual energy of the shattered stone would keep him healthy as long as he stayed near it. This he was not truly aware of, it was simply a fact. Instead he had an urge to stay near his hatching spot, a desperate fear of leaving overcame him at the thought. “Alo” he eventually squeaked out, grinning at himself for having used the right word and having being able put the syllables together. His feathers ruffled in excitement, their fuzziness making him look more like a toy that a little bird. ooc: Play on words maybe so he can find his name if you wish? xD Alo…. Aluë ? Only if you’re keen though xD @Zeno RE: Impatience - Zeno - Sep 27 2017
((May go down that line, though not with initial post. Also don't forget to fill out the OOC name portion of your profile so the character shows up in the player list)) RE: Impatience - Aluë - Oct 02 2017 Aluë’s full attention was now taken by the bat and he slowly wobbled towards the brown creature. Wondering if he too was a hatchling, the smell on him said otherwise though. He didn’t smell like the earth… which is what Aluë assumed he himself smelt like. Well he wasn’t really sure to be honest… there were so many smells all around him that he was feeling a bit overwhelmed. He continued to stumble towards the bat, wibble wobbling as he walked almost instinctively. He didn’t think about doing it, he just did it. ”Alooo?” he peeped again, showing off his newfound word. He hadn’t really paid attention to what the bat had said. He hadn’t done this on purpose or to be rude, he was simply a bit too overwhelmed at the moment. As he stumbled closer and closer to the bat his first instinct was to try and get under the creature’s wing. To hide from the overwhelmingness of the situation. He did not know about good and evil, he simply trusted that this creature who greeted him was friendly. With a shriek he tripped towards the creature, falling beneath it. He was somewhat under the creature now which did help. He lay in the dirt for a moment or two. Taking in the two smells of the creature and the dirt. Calming his overwhelmed mind before turning over and staring up at Zeno. Aluë attempts to get under Zeno's wing and hide from the world. @Zeno RE: Impatience - Zeno - Oct 03 2017
