Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Eeya - May 29 2015 ~EEYA~ "splish splash" After playing around in Polaris the dolphin wanted to see what else was around. He gave a few mighty leaps and breaths before diving underwater and zooming into a dark tunnel. Very dark, his eyes couldn't see anything and he was afraid he'd get lost forever! In his panic he felt a new instinct kicking in. On impulse he released a few clicks from his mouth which after a few seconds gave him back images of what was ahead. It was a way to see without seeing and the dolphin's panic calmed. Still, he didn't like not being able to see anything so without even realizing it he pulled upon his magick. His magicka caused him to glow a light blue that barely lit up the area around him. What he saw were a few fish, and his reflected glow off of some underwater water plants. It was pretty down here too, in its own way. With his clicks and his glow he managed to find his way to a larger place with light shining from above. It was about time he investigated and took a good breath of air. Eeya came up from below and poked his head out of the water with a loud SPLASH! He gazed around the cavern and noted the different ledges and the moist atmosphere. He liked it! While Polaris felt like it was alive with magical energy this place was alive with the water. The noise behind him of crashing water made him turn and give a loud laugh of joy. A falling wave of water! How lovely! He just had to jump through it! So he did. Back and forth, back and forth he jumped through the falls. Entertaining himself by allowing the water to fall over his back and jumping to greater heights. His loud, whistling laughs of joy filled the cavern with his merriment. After a bit he allowed himself a break where he floated on his back with his white belly facing upwards. He wondered if any strange land creatures lived here too. . words: 344 tagged: Open ooc: --- muse: 5/10 "Talking looks like this." Thinking looks like this... RE: Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Bevy - Jun 02 2015 Ratchie was in a fantastic mood. It was slightly hampered by a gentle nag in the back of their head, but they found it easy enough to ignore. Enna had asked them to talk to Cancer about... Well, themselves. The fact that Enna was a different Bevy but also the same Bevy as Ratchie, as well as the whole mysterious Other that kept stealing their body far, far from home. Ratchie, however, thought that a good stretch of their wings would take their worries away well enough. So they swooped, black wings on a canvas of red plummage, through Pisces with a chirpy singsong of delight. Their voice rang softly under the roar of the waterfalls, a sweet harmony to match the fierce melody of water. As Ratchie dove towards the waterfall, where they wanted to practice in the soaking wet conditions, a giant beast rose from the water. The thrashing grey thing made Bevy squawk, flapping back from the waterfall. From a shimmering blue gem along the slick creature's back, Ratchie realized it must have been a gembound. What was it doing, leaping at the waterfall? Was it trying to escape, or was it drowning? The thing seemed to be making happy sounds, however, which only confused the small bird more. "Uh! Hey there! Welcome to Pisces-- are... Are you alright?" They were dumbfounded, watching this strange thing leap from the water. Was it a fish? Bevy's brain seemed to understand that fish were like insects and small land prey, and she had never seen a gembound one of those. It simply did not add up. Still, Ratchie kept their small, frail form high above the water in case the huge-fish-but-not tried to jump up and eat them. RE: Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Eeya - Jun 02 2015 ~EEYA~ "splish splash" The young dolphin had been floating there content on his back. To amuse himself he started blowing bubbles from out of his blowhole, watching them twist and turn until they floated out of sight. Bubbles, they were such funny things! They could float like him but they popped unlike him. Strange but amusing things. Suddenly from out of nowhere a voice disturbed his thoughts about the lovely bubbles. He rolled over so that he was rightside up. His gaze immediately fell to the ground in front of him but nothing was there! Strange, he could have sworn that he heard a voice. A strange voice! One that wasn't like that of normal land-creatures it was closer to that of his voice but still different. Hmm... Where was it? He looked back and forth, behind him. Then, it occurred to him to try up. The dolphin poked his head upwards and looked. Ah! There it was! It was an itty-bitty little thing! Quite adorable, really! Eeya laughed at how he'd been unable to find this cute little land-critter... Wait... Was this a land critter? It floated in the air like it was of the sky! It was an air-critter not a land-critter then. "Hiiiiiiii! Hiya, there!" He whistled in his sing-song voice. "Air-critter, you sound like Eeya a little!" He said happily with another laugh. What was it that she had said? Was he alright? "Eeya is very alright! He is happy! He is excited! He meet someone new! A interesting new! He wishes he could fly like air-critter an' stay in air!" Well, he could fly but not like this one. When he flew threw the air he always had to come back down, sometimes not so gracefully. His strange voice sounded like he was singing as it always did. "Is you alright?" He asked back, as he floated in the water. It was only polite to ask back, right? words: 320 tagged: Bevy ooc: --- muse: 5/10 "Talking looks like this." Thinking looks like this... RE: Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Bevy - Jun 07 2015 Well, they were alright. The strange grey creature called Bevy an "air-critter". That meant that the gembound bellow was a "water-critter", correct? Ratchie felt funny about the whole thing, especially about the fact that the water thing wished it could fly like they could. "Yep, I'm fine!" They peeped back, gently fluttering a bit lower to the waters surface. He seemed friendly enough, the grey thing. "My name's Bevy-- er, well, Ratchet." Boy, this was complicated. Could they even explain the situation to this new gembound? It was one place to start, they supposed, but they were finding it hard enough to tell their friends much less completely strangers. With a pause, they realized the large water critter had given away his name-- Eeya. It was a very pretty name indeed. Curious to get a better look, and more so to get to know this water-critter, Bevy landed on the rocky lip of the pool by the waterfall. It was always slippery on the edge, but they were well used to the damp conditions and sunk their talons into the rock and used their wings for balance. They peered at the dolphin, trying to understand how something could live in the water all time. Could he even come out of the water? "How'd you get here?" Was the first question Ratchie found themselves asking. How indeed? They hadn't seen the giant beast crash down from the top of the waterfall, but then again, they had no idea where else something could come from. RE: Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Eeya - Jun 07 2015 ~EEYA~ "splish splash" Yay! The air-critter was fine too! They were both fine! How exciting! The dolphin watched with curiosity as the bird fluttered to a ledge and sat there with its two strange feet. He poked his head up out of the water, using his tail fin to keep him above the water for a few minutes as he studied the bird and listened to what she had to say. "Hello, Bevy-- er, well, Ratchet! To meet you is nice!" The dolphin allowed himself to fall back into the water with only his eyes and beak poking out. Not once did his smile dissipate or lessen as he talked to this new gembound. It was interesting to find something new besides a land-critter. Still, he wished there were other sea-critters. They could play and play all day long in the water! He wanted to race someone under the waves! He highly doubted that this thing could swim. It might be great at flying through the air but with how it was made it was probably better suited to flitting about high above. "How'd you get here?" Well, how else had he gotten here besides swimming. The dolphin let out a whistling laugh that sounded much more like singing than his merriment. "Eeya swam, silly!" He whistled. "Tunnels all over place! E come from Polaris water through tunnel water, to this water!" The dolphin disappeared for a moment as he ducked beneath the waves and partway down the tunnel before he turned back around and burst from the waves. The sapphire on his head glinted in the light before landed back in the water. "See? 'Nuff water for make'em biiiiiiig splash!" Now another thought occurred to him. He liked this place very much but what exactly was this place? "What is here? E from Polaris he come, but what this place?" . words: 308 tagged: Bevy ooc: --- muse: 5/10 "Talking looks like this." Thinking looks like this... RE: Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Bevy - Jun 07 2015 Bevy's eyes lit up as the dolphin spoke about how he had come all the way from Polaris. So the water ways were connected! Cancer would definitely love to know more about that, so it was Ratchie's job to make sure they found out as much as possible. They nodded firmly, soaking in the words with a curious expression. The grey gembound must know all about the water! If they could get Eeya to help them with their quests, that would be amazing. Just think of how useful the dolphin could be... But of course Eeya had questions as well. Bevy's eyes flashed up to the waterfall as they considered the best way to tell the dolphin all about their home. "Well, this is Pisces! Home of the greatest waterfall ever, and home of our family here, Maji Walezi. My friends and I protect this waterfall and the whole cavern here, see?" They were quite proud of their friends too. Maybe Eeya would like to join them, even if just for a while. If they could convince him, he could be of so much help. "We've all been wondering where all the water comes and goes from. Most of us eat the fish in the ponds around here, so if we could figure out how to get bigger fish to come to the lagoon that would solve a lot of problems for us. If you could tell me everything you know about the water that would be great, maybe we can even help each other..! And you're welcome to stay as long as you like...Oh! I can introduce you to Cancer, too! He's our leader." Ratchie wished that they could swim, as they stared at the gembound in the water. So many problems could be solved so easily... But they would never give up their wings to be trapped in the water. "Can you leave the water, or are you stuck like that?" They tried to ask without being rude, blinking as they tilted their head to one side. RE: Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Eeya - Jun 07 2015 ~EEYA~ "splish splash" Pisces? What a weird name, obviously thought up by the land-critters and their air-critter friend here. Why not call it "Rrrrrrr" after the sound the waterfall made? These creatures made no sense to him. Though he had to agree that it was the greatest waterfall ever! It was the only waterfall he'd ever seen but that was beside the point! "Ooooooooooo, Maaaaajiiii Waleziiii!" Strange words those were. "Lotsa protecting! How do? You all land or air critters. How you go through and look at all water? Most underground, you no see!" It made no sense to him. If they were protecting the waterfall then how did they do so when they couldn't swim in it like he could? They were restricted to traveling around in the above tunnels and never really seeing what it was like. Made no sense to him. Perhaps he should give them all swimming lessons so they wouldn't drown while investigating! They needed fish? He could help with that. There were plenty of fish between here and Polaris but the bigger ones all stayed near the bottom of the water. What if he scared up a few large ones? So much attention he was getting, he adored it! He'd gladly tell her about the water and help them get fish. He'd also love to meet Cancer! The more the merrier. The dolphin's head bobbed up in down in his happiness. "Yes yes yes! Eeya tell Bevy-- er, well, Ratchet all about the waters! Much much stuff he learn! Eeya also help with fishes and meet Cancer! He want to see leader-land-critter!" Yes, to all the things! First off, the fish. "There much big fish from bottom of waters! Eeya pass them on way here. If Eeya grab much-big-fish and bring them here for land-critter and air-critter they could trap much-big-fish in lagoon or 'nother lagoon or pool for eat!" Made sense to him. From what he could see when he leaped out of the water there were other pools for them to keep fish. The bigger fish were still smaller than him so perhaps they could keep them there and if he kept supplying them with different big fish, perhaps even the tasty crawly things he'd seen, they could keep a steady population of them. Seemed like a good idea for him. Now, the water. "Waters is all connected! Eeya born in place called Polaris. It has much big river! He get here through underwater tunnels which has dark in them, has to find way like this!" He let off a few clicks of his echolocation which bounced off the walls of the caverns and gave him information that he didn't need because he could see. However, this was for demonstration so it didn't matter. "And this!" Now he focused on his magick in an attempt to show his glowing. His body lit up in a faintly glowing light before he cut the spell off. "There many much more tunnels going other places. Eeya no investigate those yet, but will! In all tunnels are many much fish! Big fishes, leetle fishes, medium fishes! All tasty!" He liked fish. They were delicious! "'Nother question about waters?" If there was anything else she wanted to know he'd be glad to enlighten her. The dolphin laughed when she asked if he could come out of the water. "No no, Eeya only come out when he make the jumping! He no has toe-fins like land-critters. Only normal fins for to swim!" To demonstrate this he turned upside and waved his tail fin out of the water to show Bevy before rotating back around around to poke his head out of the water. . words: 612 tagged: Bevy ooc: --- muse: 7/10 "Talking looks like this." RE: Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Bevy - Jun 08 2015 Ratchie settled down on his talons as the dolphin responded. He certainly seemed to like the name! But worry crossed his expression as the water-critter asked how they protected the water. None of them had been in the water for more than a dip, really... And Bevy definitely was not a swimmer. "Well, you're the first thing 'sides little fish I've seen in the water, so how were we supposed to know there was a whole world down there?" They asked, sounding curious and full of wonder more than anything. "I can see the whole ground from the sky though, and I have lots of tough friends to help keep things safe, like Leon." Everything was connected! Imagine if Bevy could swim. It sounded like a whole world under there... A whole fantastic, wonderful world. It sounded like there were plenty of big fish. Cancer would be so glad to hear that... Maybe it would make it easier to explain the whole, er, Enna-and-Ratchie thing. They wondered if they should correct the dolphin when he kept calling them Bevy-er-Ratchie instead of just Ratchie, but even they had no idea how to go about it. They imagined Enna in the same situation; how mortified and nervous she would be. They were definitely the one who would have an easier time talking about it... As long as they could figure out how to start the conversation. Lastly, Eeya explained how he got there. It made sense that he had come from Polaris, and now they knew for sure the river was connected to their waterfall. The dolphin even showed off his light magic, which perked the little bird right up from their deep thoughts. "Oh nice! I know other gembound that have that magic. I just make good stuff grow so others don't get sick. I'm a Healer." That's what Enna called herself. A healer. It was adorable to Ratchie. As the dolphin showed off his flippers and explained he couldn't come out of the water-- what a pity-- Cancer appeared. Bevy's eyes brightened and the small bird took to the air and flew up to land on his horn. "Cancer, Cancer!" They peeped, all excited like. "This is Eeya! Eeya, this is Cancer, our leader. Cancer, Eeya came all the way from Polaris through underground water tunnels! Its all connected like we thought! And! He says he can bring big fish up to the surface for us, isn't that great?" They were so happy to see Cancer. Enna had made a great friend, and they didn't know what they would do without their esteemed, talkative leader. He made everything okay, somehow. They even fogot their worries about their brainspace situation. Surely their best friend would understand. RE: Pop Goes The Dolphin! - Eeya - Jun 08 2015 ~EEYA~ "splish splash" True, she had a point there. If you'd never known about the tunnels because you were stuck on land then how were you supposed to know that it was a whole new world? You wouldn't! Just like he didn't know how everything looked out of the water. Sure, he got glimpses from whenever he leaped but he couldn't truly explore or see. It sounded like there were lots of land-critter-friends to help out but how could they truly do anything? What if some water-critters were able to go on land and sea? They could do nothing if they escaped into the waters. "Like Leon? Leon swim?" It was a curious question. He honestly was curious if the land-critter, whatever sort he was, could swim. So far none of them were able to go into the water like he could. A shame. "Eeya should give lessons for swim!" That could help! Right? A healer? He knew not what a healer was but it sounded nice. "Healer? Bevy-- er, well, Ratchet use plants to heal like powers? Eeya see many plants in waters. They for help sickness too?" He wondered what all the kelp and others things were for. He'd tasted them once but they were really gross. He much preferred fish. Then, he heard a new voice. Eeya turned to see a strange black creature with a long tail and orange thingies on his head! Wow! How interesting! Eeya gave a playful whistle in greeting. "Yeah yeah yeah! All true! Eeya help by bring land-critters and air-critters fish!" He smiled at the black-land-critter-who-was-leader. All of this sounded so fun! Like the best game ever! He'd made new friends and would get to help them by catching fish! How easy was that? . words: 290 tagged: Bevy, Leon ooc: --- muse: 5/10 "Talking looks like this." Thinking looks like this... |
