your halo slipping down - Tilda - Nov 26 2017

A small boof sounded in a small segment of Orion's ceiling, not that anyone would notice such a distant event, something so miniscule and meaningless. It was doubtful that anyone would notice the tiny silvered bundle as it fell from the safety of the ruptured chrysalis either; yet there it went, that little object, streaking down from the plethora of constellations as if it once belonged among them.

Tilda was unaware of their dire plummet, but it would not be long before the end came - and so soon for one so young!

With his adventure had came a few odd things. First, there had been the odd creature that had been there when he was first born. Not to mention, he had managed to chase it off! And....That was it, from what he knew. Nothing much had happened, at least not enough to spice up his life as much as he wanted. He was still proud of himself, for intimidating the other, but he'd have to forget about that for now. He could be proud of himself if he decided to keep it up. If he could manage to be as intimidating as he was earlier. That would be great.

A flash of silver caught his attention, hurtling from the ceiling, and curiosity got the best of him. Edging closer, he realized that it was another creature! Although instinct told him to let the creature fall, and he could have a meal, he found that he was moving. Maybe he'd be fast enough, and maybe he wouldn't. In the case that he wouldn't be, well....He could say that he tried, right? And if he did manage to help the creature...If that happened, he wasn't exactly sure what he'd do. Maybe just go on his way?

The bird was falling too quickly for anyone to help it, or one might think. Yet fate seemed to side with the leopard below; the wind carried the tiny bird's body straight for the large feline at quite a speed, and then it landed squarely on the cat's broad face with a smack! By absolute fluke this collision was like the opposite from before; the bird had hit the wall of their chrysalis but now they hit the face of this cat, and the dislocated wings popped back in to place - but it wasn't without a great deal of pain. Those hollow bones snapped too, and the wings themselves sagged around that big face like limp flower petals cast aside a rose. It was pathetic - but maybe with time and patience those wings would recover? For now the neonate was groggy from the pain and making all sorts of sad little noises, clinging to the cat's face with its carrot-orange beak.

Being hit in the face by a bird was the last thing that the leopard had been expecting, but it had happened anyway. It had been unexpected, and now the cub was unmoving in his own state of shock. So this had happened, and now he had some creature clinging to his face. His vision was poor enough, and the gembound clinging to him was making it no better. It was covering his eye, and he couldn't really see to do much. Maybe he should try and move it? He wasn't sure what to do; judging from the sad noises, the creature was in pain, but Phenex would be no help. This was the first creature that he had encountered that was like this. Maybe he could try and find someone that could help?

His stomach growled, and he was faced with another option. He could eat it, while it was clinging to his face and helpless. It couldn't get away, could it? If it could, surely it would have done so already. The leopard was about to figure out how he could eat the creature when another sad noise hit his ears, and a pang of sympathy went through him. He couldn't eat this creature! Not yet, anyways.

With a resigned sigh, one that he hoped would make his intentions clear, he would attempt to shake his head gently and at least get the winged creature to move away from his eye so he could see where he was heading. If it didn't work....Well, he may just have to wait for a while.
