the search - Desire - Jan 03 2018

She slithered quickly along, excited, searching. She was determined to bring at least one gem back to the great flying thing. The little white python had traveled long and her little body was soon to reach its limit, but she would not be satisfied without her stone. She desired to please the great gold thing. Desire slid along the rocky pathways, among piles of pebbles and crumbling wall. Ahead of her she was a promising jumble of stones, and sped up to see if there was anything of interest.

No, nothing. Not yet would frustration blossom in her heart; her childlike wonder seemed limitless. She wanted to please, to please, to please the incredible shining thing that would give to her if she gave to him. Desire slid around the rocks and continued on. Amongst various stones she looked, the darkness a hindrance only to color. Her crystal-clear hunter's vision gave her a better chance than perhaps others, but still it was difficult. Again, she attempted to sort through a group of crumbled stones.

Ah! She'd found one! A gleeful hiss was exhaled as the python grasped the golden stone in her mouth, adrenaline propelling her mission to bring the stone to the golden thing. She was full of joy and moved quickly, leaving the tunnel behind as swiftly as her little body could move. She would make it happy, it would like her, give her things! Something golden, she hoped.
