[QUEST] Nine Lives: The Dam - Game Master Talamasca - Jan 06 2018 ![]()
The dam - which once housed a plethora of hungry gem golems - has become an empty pit. The creatures who had once been spotted stumbling about, collecting stones, or occasionally interacting with gembounds, seem to have dispersed. Where have they gone?
This thread is a continuation of this event.
Participation is optional - but a character cannot be in two places at once! Participants: Zeno, Cecei RE: [QUEST] Nine Lives: The Dam - Zeno - Jan 06 2018

The emptiness is palpable; no longer is there the cacophonous sound of stone-on-stone, or the chipping away of minerals, or even the incongruity that accompanied the movement of the oddly shaped golems. There was nothingness, and only nothingness. The only sounds were of the crackling storm, as if the storm were laughing at the sight below.
The ground is littered with more debris than normal. Bits and pieces flash as they catch the light of the magicka passing through the clouds, reflecting a little bit every time a bolt of energy careens through the mayhem. A boulder here, some scattered stones there - some appear to have more definition than others. What is more interesting to @Zeno - the air above, or the earth below? RE: [QUEST] Nine Lives: The Dam - Cecei - Jan 08 2018 Cecei had never been to Polaris before, so she had no idea where she was going exactly. She looked around slowly as she arrived in at the dam. That was when she saw a familiar face flying above. It was Zeno from earlier! She smiled brightly and stepped a little closer, being cautious as she did. She was too young to fully fly right now, but she would soon when she grew older. Right now though she just had to be careful. "Hello Zeno, do you know what's going on here?" Cecei looked up but she couldn't really get a good idea what was going on up there, not when she could fly. She looked around before looking back to Zeno. "I am unable to properly fly right now Zeno. I can investigate the ground level if you investigate up there." Not waiting for an answer, Cecei cautiously drew closer to the pit. She steadied herself and carefully, very carefully leaned over to look down the pit, maybe there was something down there that she could see but no. She couldn't see a thing. @Zeno RE: [QUEST] Nine Lives: The Dam - Game Master Talamasca - Jan 13 2018
Little could be discerned in the darkness, even with the occasional blip of the storm's energy. The storm was definitely thinner here - and one must wonder why.
The pit was of no consequence; however, as @Cecei involves herself in the study of the ground, she will find a myriad of stones in odd shapes, the same that @Zeno had found earlier. The closer either gemling gets to the pit and things only change to a minimal extent. The stones are larger here. They look to be wedged together in odd haphazard patterns. None appear to be gemstones capable of holding magicka, but there are mineral-like striations throughout a great many that may have, once. The stones are dull and lifeless - but perhaps further investigation is in order?
