join me in this hell of mine - Alexi - Feb 16 2018 Alexi struggled in her chrysalis. Nightmares tore through her mind, and she woke to give a silent scream to the small chrysalis that imprisoned her. Her eyes snapped open, and she peered around herself to make sure she was safe. It was difficult though, and she knew it was time to leave. She had been putting it off for a while now, though she didn't know quite how long. Time was irrelevant to the wolf. She sighed silently and kicked at her chrysalis. A small crack opened it up a bit, and the thick liquid that had encased her this far in life spilled out. Kicking out at the crack, it widened a bit. Getting tired of the games, Alexi shover her body forward and her chrysalis fell over and shattered. She was free. Shaking her pelt, Alexi frowned. What would she do now? RE: join me in this hell of mine - Tukluk - Feb 22 2018 Well, the lights had come back on at some point, and Tuck was glad for that. He’d been getting extremely sick of wandering around in the dark, having to constantly cast a Light spell to see anything in front of him. Everything was in your way when you were only five inches tall. He’d also finally sort of gotten over not having Garmer for protection all the time, though he still found his own mind a strangely empty place sometimes. He hopped along, wandering Polaris mostly for the surge of Magic it gave him than for any other reason. That was when he spotted the Gemling up ahead. “Hey,” he called out, coming closer and feeling no fear. He’d gotten over being so small a long, long time ago. “Welcome to the world.” He didn’t know if the pup understood him, but it didn’t matter. He liked talking to babies. @Alexi RE: join me in this hell of mine - Alexi - Feb 22 2018 Alexi drew pictures on the ground, bored as she could be. That is, until a strange little monkey showed up. "Hi. Thanks, I guess. I'm... I'm uh.... I'm Alexi." The wolf Gemling answered, Her head still down. She felt really sad, for no reason at all. And the monkey made her nervous too. What if he didn't like her? What if he hated her?! @Tukluk RE: join me in this hell of mine - Tukluk - Feb 26 2018 OOC: Hello yes sorry for taking so long omg college classes are killing me LOL. Oh, so the wolf pup could understand language. Well, she picked it up fast! Tuck was actually kind of impressed. He tried to think back and remember if he’d spoken so quickly at his own hatching, but all he could remember of that day was feeling very annoyed at something. Had Kin-Kin been there that day? His eyebrows scrunched in concentration, but nothing came to him, so he gave up reminiscing. He didn’t want to ignore the pup. “I’m Tuck,” the marmoset replied. It had been so long since he’d used his full name that he never introduced himself as Tukluk anymore. He couldn’t think of a single Gembound who called him that. After this short introduction, he stood awkwardly, trying to think of something else to say. Was this the first time he was meeting a freshly-hatched Gembound? “Uhh…” he paused, wracking his brain for something to talk about. “I… like your… Stone.” He gestured towards the moonstone gem embedded into the pup’s forehead. “Oh, but… you can’t see it. Right. It’s pearly white, looks like…” He squinted. “An eye? Or something? It’s on your forehead.” @Alexi RE: join me in this hell of mine - Alexi - Feb 26 2018 Alexi smiled. The marmoset seemed really nice, which was good. She didn't think she could handle a mean Gembound right after hatching. That'd just ruin her day. She had someone nice though, which was good. She'd return the kindness. "I like your name Tuck. And your stone too, haha." She laughed, admiring the green and red stone on his chest. Though she could only see a tiny bit of it peeing through his fur. It was nice, talking to someone. Made the world seem not so lonely. @Tukluk OOC: Don't worry! I understand! ^^ RE: join me in this hell of mine - Tukluk - Feb 27 2018 Tuck had actually kind of forgotten that his Stone was even visible. He couldn’t help but pull his chin down and try to look at it, but it was embedded into his collarbone which meant that he couldn’t see it unless he looked into still water or some other reflective surface. He rubbed it with the back of his paw, and then smoothed the fur down again over it, feeling oddly self-conscious. “Thanks,” he muttered, unsure of what else to say on the matter. He cleared his throat. “So, uhh… what kind of Magic can you do? Everyone can do at least one spell when they hatch, as far as I’ve been able to tell.” Tuck realized he might be confusing the pup, so he paused, trying to think of how to explain. A thought occurred to him, so he said, “Hang on. Watch.” Then he called upon the Magic in his Stone and silently asked it to grow a flower for him, out of the back of his hand. The skin there tingled for a moment, and then a tiny little green sprout wiggled out from the fur and blossomed into the smallest little pink flower ever. “See? This is my Magic. I can grow flowers and things, or manipulate plants to do what I want.” He admired the flower for a second, and then asked, “So what can you do? Just focus on your Stone and see what happens.” @Alexi RE: join me in this hell of mine - Alexi - Feb 27 2018 Alexi smiled at the flower. It was pretty, but what could she do? Taking Tuck's advice, she concentrated on drawing power from her stone. It worked! The wolf felt her mouth grow hot, uncomfortably so, so she opened it and breathed out. It helped a little. The wolf stopped her spell, trying to get rid of the burning feeling in her mouth. It hurt. Did all of her magic hurt? She hoped not. @Tukluk RE: join me in this hell of mine - Tukluk - Mar 06 2018 Tuck felt a gush of uncomfortably hot air wash over him when the wolf opened her mouth and exhaled. He winced, halfway expecting flames next, but nothing else happened. He opened his eyes again slowly, looking the wolf up and down. “Hmm…” he began, trying to think. “I know some Gembounds have… Fire Magic, but that wasn’t fire. It was just heat. Still… I can’t think of any other Magic that has heat spells.” He shrugged, not really sure what kind of spell that had been. “Maybe it didn’t work right?” he suggested in a questioning tone. “Maybe you were supposed to breathe fire or something.” RE: join me in this hell of mine - Alexi - Mar 06 2018 Alexi was disappointed. It seemed she didn't do the thing right, which upset her. She knew she couldn't do anything else, and that made her even more upset. "Oh. Maybe I can't do fire magick. Maybe I can't do any real magick." The wolf replied solemnly. She hung her huge triangle shaped head and shook it softly. "Sorry if I'm a downer." @Tukluk RE: join me in this hell of mine - Tukluk - Mar 08 2018 Tuck suddenly felt really bad for the pup, a feeling that didn’t happen often for him. ”No, no,” he said quickly, putting his paws out in front of him and shaking them. “You… I’m sure you did something important! Uh… a lot of beginner spells aren’t that great, from what I know of other Gemlings I’ve met. You — you just need practice, probably!” He gave a weird nervous laugh and looked around, trying to dissipate the strange feeling in his chest. Why did he feel so strangely responsible for this wolf? He wasn’t her father. Gembound didn’t have fathers (Tuck was not aware that one could Give Life to a stone, thereby becoming a parent to the Neonate one created). All Gembound in the Cave were parent-less. So why did he feel this overwhelming need to take the wolf in and teach her about life? He sighed, rubbing his head in confusion. @Alexi |
