Crunch, munch, bones for lunch - Reseda - Feb 22 2018 ![]() Crack. Reseda gloried in the slicing of her strong teeth into the bone, the sharp pieces that splintered away, the crunching as her powerful jaws destroyed. Perhaps one day, this would be an enemy. Perhaps one day, this would be a creature. She wondered what it would be like. She had smelled the goose's blood. She wondered what it would taste like, all hot and fast with the spice of battle, of anger and fear. She wanted to know. Maybe someday she would. For the first time, she was looking forward to something. The deep one had promised that she would be powerful, that it could teach her to use magic. She remembered the chasm it had ripped into the world upon their first meeting. Greed itched at the inside of her scales. Yes, that was what she wanted. Crunch. The bone continued to fracture under her grip. She spit out the splinters that were collecting in her mouth. She had once tried one. While it had tasted pretty good, it had scratched her throat and had sat uncomfortably in her stomach. She would just have to stick to meat. Not that it was bad, she quite liked meat. But she liked the bones too. And that's where Reseda sat, in her cave among the Chambers, munching and crunching on bones, dreaming of the power she would hold. ___________________________________________________________ When I speak. She's independent and has grown to an adventurer. Going through life the pace she did, had time meant anything at all? Nah. But on this world, a world so different from the one within the precious crystalline womb, time proved an illusionist. Early day. Birds alive and life coming from every corner especially now. Wonderful. But she goes past the borderline you see. RE: Crunch, munch, bones for lunch - Reseda - Feb 23 2018 ![]() Reseda slowed her munching as her ears picked up the sound of something coming close. She lazily cast her eyes to the entrance to her little chamber and watched as a young green snake appeared. Well, now she's have to find another name for the long one, since there was obviously more of them. Annoyance flashed through her mind, but it was soon gone, smothered in her usual cold disinterest. She watched it as it raised itself until it was taller then her. She stared at it strangely, wondering why it was asking her this. For a moment, she wondered whether she should bother responding before she decided she might as well. "The bones?" she replied, expressionless. "The bones are good. They crunch and they crack. But they cannot be eaten, no. They poke holes in my body. So I munch on them instead." She thought that she had sufficiently answered the snake's question so she turned back to her one and began to gnaw on it some more, grinding and scraping her teeth across the hard, jagged surface. ___________________________________________________________ When I speak. She had other things to think about besides this new one. Was that what it was called? Well, it was green. Maybe the green one. It couldn't be the long one or the dark one. Fine, the green one. Her eyes flitted to the green one as her strong jaws snapped a bone in half. "What good are soft bones? You cannot break soft bones, you cannot sharpen your teeth with soft bones. I wouldn't want soft bones." She didn't understand the concept of soft bones, nor the failed spell attempt. She wished this thing would go away or prove more useful to her quickly or she would get irritated with its presence. ___________________________________________________________ When I speak. Just rude. Plain rude! Not nice. Not even a name given. RE: Crunch, munch, bones for lunch - Reseda - Feb 23 2018 ![]() As the green one began to leave, something sparked in Reseda's mind. The deep one had taught her to detect magic. And...she seemed to detect a tiny spark of it coming from the snake. But it wasn't malicious. She detected no bad aura coming from the green one, not like the stuff that had come from the deep one during its fight. Perhaps this one was trying to befriend her. Strange. She would never understand the gembounds. But then a thought occurred to her, bringing her back to the fateful moment she had seen the deep one's magic. She let her bone clatter to the ground as she rose to her feet. If this one...was willing to befriend her, maybe she could keep it as her own. Her first follower, just as she was the deep one's first. The green one would be hers to command and influence. It seemed young as well. Perhaps that would make it easier. Her brain flicked to the mask she had started to draw. The coldness in her expression melted away and her voice grew smoother as she stepped forward and called out. "Wait. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. My name's Reseda. I don't get visitors often, so I was just a little taken by surprise." ___________________________________________________________ When I speak. To befriend such a serpent would be ideal if they'd know the powerhouse she'd grow to one day be. The destiny. Like having a pet dinosaur who loved you more than life itself. Bonding had its perk. At least with Cháos. Had this lizard seen that? Finally. RE: Crunch, munch, bones for lunch - Reseda - Feb 26 2018
Reseda was a hard one to surprise or elicit much emotion from in general. But she was certainly shocked when the green one began coiling itself playfully around her ankle. She looked down, trying to fight the urge to pull her leg out of the way, but she had to remind herself that if she wanted to obtain the affection and loyalty of gembounds, she had to act like them. She wasn't sure the normalcy of this action, however. Then again, nobody that lived in the room of bones was anywhere close to normal. RE: Crunch, munch, bones for lunch - χάος - Feb 26 2018
A nudge, a ping, a whisper shouted about in the naiive snake's mind. Her mental was smarter than what others presumed. Very much so. And according to Cháos, this lizard had a vibe not so great to it. Had it been that this lizard meant no good? God how she wished to have the arcane gifts. Unfairness didn't sit well with the brood. @Reseda |
