Mongo hatches near the Dam, and is shortly found by a fellow Gembound, a Sea Gull named Vincenzo. Vinnie takes care of the blind, deaf, and helpless Mongo until the Fossa gains his sight and hearing, wherein it is revealed one of his eyes has been replaced by his Gem. Vinnie and Mongo discover he has a taste for meat, after Vincenzo retrieves a fish for him to eat. Vincenzo introduces him to the world of the Gembounds, and Mongo discovers his Magick.

After concluding his meeting with Vincenzo, Mongo sets out to explore Polaris. While wandering, he comes across the River, and stops to drink. However, he doesn't get to do so long before a Cave Hopper is launched out of the water. It shortly begins to vocalize, and Mongo sees something glowing inside the water.

Eridanus - Gathering Moss - Incomplete
