First Time Out of Polaris [Lost Stone Hunt]

Damn, it was loud!

The Fossa shook his head with a frustrated snarl, rounded ears flattening against his skull. Why did it have to be in Monoceros? He'd overheard some of his fellow Gembounds discussing what was apparently a very interesting Gem, which was supposed to be very rare. They hadn't known the exact location, but it had been agreed that it was in a room of Howling Screams.

Considering that Mongo still hadn't explored a lot of the Caves, it had taken him some time. With careful questions, he'd managed to ask his fellow Gembounds what the various rooms of the cave system were. At the sounds of Monoceros, which according to them was full of wind, he'd guessed that was where it was.

He dug in his claws to the ground as the wind threatened to pull the small carnivore off his feet, struggling to lift his head and look around. With his single eye, he managed to see the Gorge, and grinned. The wind should be weaker there, shouldn't it? So he began to make his way to the Gorge, hoping to find a moment to regain his bearings.

The fossa seems to be in the right location, but the remains of many are constantly shifted around Monoceros—gemstones, rusted and old bits of metal armor, and remnants of weapons. If the Gembound wishes to find the specific stone it seeks, it may have to complete some sort of trial or quest...

A buzzing begins to follow the fossa into the gorge, previously hidden by the howling winds.

This will do while I wait on those pesky creatures to return! thought the sprite to herself as she remained hidden behind the fossa's trail, spying on it from above. I can use it as a test rat!

She snapped her tiny fingers and giggled as the ground beneath the Gembound crumbled and fell away, sucking the fossa into a hidden and separate room before closing up again!

The room is medium is size but dark, save for the small glow that was the sprite, and soon the whole room was alight with swirling spotlights and sparkling showers of confetti.

"Welcome, welcome! Congratulations! You've won a trip to Nemean's Great Escape!" The sprite's voice carried excitedly in the enclosed room, her arms outstretched as she twirled in place.

The Fossa sighed as he finally made it to the gorge, no longer feeling the gusts of wind tugging at his fur, threatening to pull him off the ground. But, unfortunately, the area around him seemed to be full of Gemstones; how would he find the one he was searching for? He was surrounded by gemstones, and metal armor, and scraps of metal. It would take him ages to find the stone he was looking for.

The one eyed carnivore stopped his pacing, rounded ears twitching. What was that noise? There was a soft buzzing noise, and he found himself looking around, trying to find the source. It sounded weird, and didn't sound familiar at all. He raised his nose to the air, sniffing a few times to try and find any scent that was out of place.

However, before he could find anything, the ground began to grumble. He squeaked, and moved to jump forward, only to find himself plummeting. Mongo twisted futilely, attempting to land on his feet, and grunted as he hit the dirt.

Shaking himself off, the Fossa swung his head this way and that, trying to see where he was. It was dark, except for a small glow. However, moments later he was being blinded by swirling spotlights and sparkling... something.

He stared at the sprite disbelievingly, looking gobsmacked. "Nemean's... Great... Escape? What?"
