are you my mother? - Wynry - Jun 07 2015 Wynry had lost Vazi, somehow. They had been sleeping and... Mrf. He had found his hooves taking him back to the glowing realm of Polaris, and at least he knew where he was. Now it was just a matter of finding his friend, and that couldn't be too hard. Surely he was around here somewhere, anywhere... The sheep knew he had to tread carefully, though he couldn't be sure why just yet. Perhaps it was the looming blue crystal that crackled in the distance, or the machine that buzzed and raced circles in the water, or the things of rock that lumbered by the water. Either way, he took careful steps as he crept forward in search of his deer friend. The air was cold, but he had already grown into a short, white wooly coat. It covered him from tail to cheeks, though not so much his legs, and he stumbled around aimlessly as his feet quivered with each step, nearly tripping over himself constantly. "Hello?" Wynry called, his magic trying to cast his voice farther. ;; post roll His voice did carry through the air, but it wobbled and distorted, almost impossible to understand. "Are-- Where-- You-- Vah-- Hello? Any-- Where-- One-- Please?" He cried out, a bit afraid of how his voice sounded. He wished he wasn't alone here, if only he had someone along to help him find his friend. Anyone at all... The giant room stretched out before him, and where before there was joy, a sense of dread sunk deep into his heart. RE: are you my mother? - Game Master Madison - Jun 08 2015 ![]() Ever since the arrival of the shadowy Gembound, the stag had been on guard. He didn't know what the shadow creature was here for - what his true intentions were. All he had been told was that the creature was looking for someone, someone long dead. The stag did not know of them. He had warned the creature that he wasn't to endanger the new Gembounds that roamed these caves. As much as the cave had once been the shadow creature's home, it was now host to a new realm of life, and it was the stag's job to watch them. The beast had shown no signs of hostility, so for now, the stag was content to let him share their quarters. His visits to Polaris had become more frequent since the awakening of the golems. He felt he had known this would happen. Obviously, there had to be some consequences to turning the lights back on. He just wished that there was something he could have done to prevent the golems from awakening. They endangered the little lives that grew here. The lives he was responsible for. If anything, he would try his best to ward off the golems. As the lights flickered above, the stag gently wandered the perimeter of the shattered dam. The golems lumbered heavily around one another; in the absence of foreign magic, they became attracted to themselves, forever chasing one another for the magic imbued shards lodged in their bodies. They didn't react to the stag's approach, nary shedding a second thought to his presence. He would walk among them, whispering quietly to them, asking them where their homes were and what they wanted, how could he help them? Was he bound to protect them, too, as he was all life in the cave? A distant voice had both distracted him and attracted the attention of the golems. They slowed their paces, their boulders slowly grinding as they each turned to face the origin of the noise. But it had bounced off of walls, traveled great distances to reach the dam. They were unable to locate its source. So, they carried on. But the stag was not content to ignore the cry for help. He turned and began to jog towards the helpless Gembound calling into the nether. Before long, the lamb came into view; bathed in the glowing lights of the cave, the stag approached, long legs carrying him slowly and gracefully towards the babe. "Shh. Do not fret." He spoke gently, and fell still a few feet away from Wynry. "Are you lost?" The stag asked, lowering his head to probe for the lamb's gaze. RE: are you my mother? - Wynry - Jun 08 2015 For a short while, no answers came to the child, lost in the light of the room, the world too big for his frail, gentle body. He trembled and wobbled this way and that, looking around desperately for Vazi-- but, eventually, someone came to his rescue. It was a deer just like his friend, but this one was a huge stag, much bigger than Wyn ever thought someone could be. He grow quiet, his bleats dying in his throat, but he still shook in his light wool coat. His big eyes blinked at the adult, whose head was bowed to meet his gaze. Everything about the giant creature spoke of safety and comfort. In true to himself fashion, Wynry bolted straight at the buck, eager to get to the safety and snuggle up to the big gembound. ;; post roll Although Wyn had some fairly stable hooves most of the time, his momentum propelled him forward faster than he could make his legs keep up and soon enough the poor thing was catupulted feet over head as he tumbled right into the deerdad's legs. Although it took the wind out of him, he seemed hardly phased as he pushed his head into the deer's leg and began to whine and nuzzle. "L-lost," he whimpered, closing his eyes tight. "Lost friend, my friend. Vazi. Like you, but small. He's go-oo-one..." RE: are you my mother? - Game Master Madison - Jun 11 2015 ![]() The stag had not expected the little lamb to react so to his approach; when he came running up, the deer froze, anchoring his legs for when the creature had tumbled and rolled into his limbs. The stag tipped his nose down and uttered a humble chuckle. As the lamb shoved his head into the deer's leg, he tilted his own heavy skull and implored some kind of answer. Of course the little lamb was lost, but the stag didn't know what he could do for him unless the lamb gave him some more information. Sure enough, it came. He must have been looking for his friend. "Is Vazi a deer too?" He asked gently, patiently. "We can look for him together, if you like." He would help the little lamb find his friend, surely. RE: are you my mother? - Wynry - Jun 12 2015 When the giant gembound, so much taller than Wynry ever thought he would be, spoke once more, the sniffling whimpers grew quiet to listen. He nodded at this, slowly. "Deer like you, yeah.." He almost stammered out that Vazi was the best deer ever, but remembered his manners before the words stumbled out of his mouth. The lamb also seemed to remember that he was being awfully cuddly with a stranger and well, while the giant stag seemed quite nice it was probably a bit rude to be bumping into others and nuzzling them without any permission. Of course, the deer took it nicely so... Wynry figured out what to do with his feet once more and stumbled to his hooves, fumbling away from poor Deer Dad who had unwittingly become stuck with the lamb until his lovely friend Vazi was found. "You'll help me find Vazi? Really? Promise?" He asked, knees shaking as he peered up at the deer with round, almost puppy-dog like eyes. With that, it seemed that the young gembound had forgotten all of his worries and fears, and promptly began to bolt towards the river, though he did pause for about half a second, only a couple meters away, to make sure that the buck was following him. "Vazi!! Vazi, where are you!" the lamb cried, sounding like he was playing hide-and-seek more than a lost child now. RE: are you my mother? - Game Master Madison - Jun 15 2015 ![]() When Wynry asked him to promise if he would help the little lamb find his friend, the stag's lips curled into a small smile. He dipped his head in a slow nod. "I promise." He answered, and looked ahead. Now, where would they start? The stag had never met this Vazi before; he had no idea where to start looking. Briefly he wondered if he could send out the mycelia he'd tapped into to search for the little deer, but in what direction? Was he even here in Polaris? Wynry bolted off towards the river, pausing only to wait for the stag to join him. The deer followed suite, jogging primly after the lamb. As he did so, he cast off his magic. The stag was leery of nearby golems, but there weren't any within sight, for now. They were still all gathered around the dam. Post Roll Edit: Once he had come to a halt behind the lamb, the stag closed his eyes and projected himself into the fungal growth that sprawled through the cave. In his mind's eye, he could see everything. Distorted visions of himself and the lamb, inching further and further away as his senses moved outward. He surveyed the entire room, and felt lingering presences, but he was unsure of whether or not any of them were Vazi. There was one - perhaps that was it. The stag cut off his magic, not wanting to alert the golems. "Let's follow the river." He said down to the lamb and began to walk, pointing his head in the direction he'd sensed the other presence. Maybe it was Vazi, or maybe it was some one else all together. RE: are you my mother? - Wynry - Jun 16 2015 The great deer suggested they follow the river, and that seemed like a good place to start to Wynry! He loved the river, the way it bubbled along side them. The water had always been cool and crisp and tasty-- he had had his first drink at this very river. His tail wiggled as he hopped along, prancing the edge of the riverbank without a care. They were going to find his bestiest buddy, his best friend, his big brother! A thought flicked through the sheep's mind and suddenly he slowed, casting a glance at the giant deer. "Are you Vazi's dad?" He didn't know where the word "dad" came from but it didn't bother him. After all, where did ANY words come from? How did he know how to call Vazi his "brother"? Of course if Deer Dad was Vazi's dad then he was also Wyn's dad, somehow, wasn't he? Boy things were weird! Wynry loved every bit of the weird, however, embracing it as he embraced everything in life-- with a beautiful warm smile on his fuzzy velvet black lips. A vibration, like a bunch of great rocks hitting the earth in the distance, tingled up his hooves. He could feel something... Something big coming his way. Something much bigger than Deer Dad, and in turn, gargantuan compared to the tiny lamb. "W-wha's that?" He wondered, awestruck by the feeling through his body. RE: are you my mother? - Game Master Madison - Jun 18 2015 The stag walked gracefully alongside the lamb, his own soft sunset eyes fixed on the winding riverbed ahead. His ears would twitch every now and then, gaze flicking down to the lamb as he asked a question. The stag couldn't help the small smile that rose to his lips. "No, I am not." He answered. He didn't believe he was anybody's father. He had come here the same as they, hadn't he? Would he not know if he was somebody's father? Perhaps not... his brow knitted slightly, but the deer turned his head back up to the river. As soon as Wynry had felt the shaking of the ground, the stag did, too. He hesitated. There was a great disturbance, somewhere up ahead - they couldn't see, but the ground, and something came near them. The great deer stepped ahead of the lamb, lowering his head and pointing his pointed antlers towards the coming threat. Before long, it showed its face. The massive white-haired yeti, pink skin glowing and bloodied, had come running along the river's edge to meet the two Gembounds. In his arms, two more Gembounds, still unconscious. The sight of the great stag had caused Svarog to slow, the snarl imprinted on his visage seeming to slowly edge away. The stag walked slowly; his head was still lowered in defense, but his eyes were stuck on the two Gembounds in the yeti's grip. His heart jumped. Where had he stolen them from? Why were they injured? The stag raised his head now, daring to tear his eyes away from the two youths. He met the gaze of the yeti, imploring for some kind of answer. Svarog rumbled, slowly stepping closer. He hadn't even cast a glance at the lamb. His eyes were on the stag. The yeti lingered, and then he slowly lowered Arkrael and Vazi to the ground, gently placing them before the stag. The great deer watched. He made no move towards the Gembounds or the monster, careful to keep his distance. Once they had been placed on the ground, he looked back up to Svarog. There was something in the look they exchanged, solemn, knowing... accepting. "Thank you." The stag spoke quietly. The ice monster wrinkled his nose, baring his upper fangs. A growl rippled up from his throat before he abruptly turned away, hastily knuckle-walking back in the direction he had come. The stag knew naught what Svarog's next course of action would be. All he knew was that he had delivered the Gembounds to him, out of danger, and that much was to be appreciated. Once Svarog had disappeared from sight, the deer slowly walked towards Arkrael and Vazi, looking them over for signs of life. Sure enough, they were still alive, but badly wounded. What had transpired, what caused this to happen? The deer turned his head back to Wynry, silently asking if this was the deer he was looking for. RE: are you my mother? - Wynry - Jun 18 2015 Woah! That was a huge gembound! Wynry had thought that the giant deer was big but no-- the giant white ape was the real big one! He had never felt so small, but for some reason it didn't scare him. He was excited to meet this new gembound, at least, until he saw Vazi. "Hey--" he bleated, taking a step forward, but the beast growled and he found himself stopped in place, unable to approach. Maybe the yeti was kinda scary.... But, but, that was definitely his friend, right? Who was that other one? Finally, the giant gembound put down his friends and left, leaving him frozen and confused. "Vazi?..." The stag approached slowly, and like a stumbling newborn he tagged along, his legs shaky under his wooly fluff. It wasn't until he met Deer Not-Dad's eyes that he snapped out of it. "Vazi... He's hurt, isn't he?" Came his timid question, frightened suddenly. His big, bright eyes flashed back to Vazi and he bolted forward, voice fumbling out of his lungs clumsily. "Vazi! Vazi, wake up!" He cried, almost overrunning the limp bodies and tripping over his deer friend. He managed to stop in time, flopping on the unconscious deer. "Vazi? Vazi, what happened? Hey, brother! Brother, wake up!" He demanded, nudging the deer's cheek with his nose. Why was Vazi hurt? ... it wasn't Wynry's fault, was it? RE: are you my mother? - Hasira - Jun 18 2015 After blacking out when hitting the golem (and busting its arm up he noted with satisfaction) the fawn was lost to the world. He had no idea that the yeti would help him. He had expected the golems to finish him and his new friend off but it never happened. Unknown to him he had been rescued by the very thing he had tried to save. Deposited on the ground in front of the grown stag and his friend he did nothing at first. The fawn simply lay there. It wasn't until his brother flopped across him that he started to stir. His body gave a shudder and he groaned. The first thing he noted was the pain in his head which had a bruise on it from his charge. The next thing he noted was the weight on his back. Was he dead? Had the golems sat on him or beat him up? He didn't feel beat up enough for getting rock thrashed so maybe not. Another groan and his steel gray eyes fluttered open, landing on the stag before him. He was huge! Well, not as big as the yeti but still large! And his antlers! What antlers! Would he ever get antlers like that one day? After staring at the deer in awe for a moment he noticed the air that the stag seemed to radiate. One of warmth and of loving kindness... Vazi liked him immediately. He stared up with a smile on his face. "Did you save us, sir?" Wait! Save! It finally hit the young fawn. They had been trapped by golems and were alive now! He looked around frantically but stopped when that sent a fresh wave of pain to his head. With a groan he looked backwards and saw Wynry. "Brother! We found you!" He reached his nose forward to touch the lamb's before noticing the wolf laying off to the side. "Wolf friend! Wolf friend, are you alright? I am so sorry for my foolish plan!" He felt shame burn in his belly because he'd almost gotten them both killed. He ducked his head, feeling impossibly small with the stag in front of him. "I nearly got us both killed... We were searching for Wynry but then we heard the large white creature yelling. The golems were trying to attack it so I rushed in. Wolf friend, rushed in after me but we were overwhelmed and... yeah..." He said guiltily, afraid that he would get berated for his foolishness. He'd never felt this way before but for some reason he wanted approval from the stag. He wanted to know if he had been right to try and be brave and save someone else. It wasn't right to risk the wolf but he hadn't meant to... He just hadn't been thinking. ((I effed up and deleted the template... but I'm too lazy to fix it so enjoy naked post XD)) |
