[Event] Festive Surprise! - Previous Game Master Moonlit - Apr 01 2018 What's this? Something strange has appeared in Polaris, not too far from the spire. With all the strange things in the caves already, it shouldn't be too out of place, but one would have to admit that it's very pretty.
Eggs! There are dozens of them, all arranged in a not-so-neat pile. Almost like chrysalises, though somehow detached from the cave walls, each one is perfectly oval shaped and shining with colours that seem just a little too perfect to be natural. Each one seems to be unique, with many boasting extravagant and intricate patterns. each one appears to be hewn of pure gemstone. They're a little heavy, and come in a wide variety of sizes, some just a couple of inches in length, and others as heavy as a house cat; perfectly suited for the various denizens of the caves to come and claim their own, so long as they can carry it, of course. Note: participating in this thread is totally optional!
Your character may choose to participate IC in collecting their egg from the pile here! Otherwise, just picking it up from the Magicka Shop is assuming they have collected it from this pile. Also, keep in mind that rolling the spell itself will ultimately "do nothing" as the eggs cannot break, do not have a scent, are immune to magic, etc. But if desired, you may roll to determine how impressive your egg is. RE: [Event] Festive Surprise! - Aithaxas - Apr 01 2018 Yes, they were definitely eggs. Though it was odd- they didn't smell like anything at all. Aithaxas tilted his head, looking at them. These eggs were of various sizes, with bright markings. Each of these eggs seemed unique. Some were tiny, others were extremely large (at least to young Aithaxas), being only slightly smaller than the maned wolf himself. Aithaxas decided that he wanted to take one of the eggs. After taking a brief moment to decide, he chose an average looking egg. It was not extremely tiny, yet it also wasn't as big as he was. It seemed perfect to him. He lifted it up in his mouth, making sure to be careful with it- although it seemed to be much harder than what he could crack open. Could he even do such a thing? He didn't think to try. The egg was also much heavier than what he had been expecting. RE: [Event] Festive Surprise! - Naga - Apr 01 2018
RE: [Event] Festive Surprise! - Aithaxas - Apr 01 2018 "I'll help!" he called out, not sure if whatever was inside could hear him. He began to claw and pound at the chrysalis. He was small, having nowhere near the same amount of strength as an older Gembound, but he could at least try to help out in some way. He jumped back with a yelp when cracks appeared on the chrysalis. He stood back, waiting to see what- or rather, who- came out. @Naga RE: [Event] Festive Surprise! - Dragon - Apr 01 2018 Dragon wasn't looking for eggs. He wasn't looking for anything. He was just travelling, limpy leg dragging over the ground, when he spotted the pile of gemstone eggs ahead. He stared; he huffed. There was already a stranger there--one helping another Gembound to hatch, no less. What is this? Where did it come from? ...What if the BETRAYER is at fault? What if these are all children of the caves, here for her use? They were certainly ludicrously shiny enough. With another huff, Dragon examined the stranger, the... dog? Wolf? Thing. He then disregarded it--it seemed to need no help. The alligator wondered if he should take one of the eggs away. A single chrysalis, rescued from whatever Nemean's plan was. He could try to move them all, of course, but she might come back at any time. And one... Well, he could manage one. Maybe there'd be a new Child within, one he could aid, and raise, and--oh there were his dad instincts kicking in again. Without further thought, the alligator waddle-dragged his way to the pile, snagging an egg in his jaws at random, carefully delicate with the gem. It was a fairly impressive egg, but then again, he couldn't see that at all--because it was in his mouth. Dragon didn't stick around. He turned, waddling off toward Cetus, limping and huffing all the way. ((And exit, unless--something happens!)) RE: [Event] Festive Surprise! - Livius - Apr 01 2018
Envy was scuttling in their usual lopsided fashion through Polaris, when a flash of colour caught their eye. the weasel quickly changed course and bounded towards it, their eyes glittering as they neared, rapidly picking up speed. There were a few other gems present, and a chrysalis that was currently in the process of hatching, but Envy paid them no heed. Their jaws were salivating and they sat back on their haunches to simply gawp as they beheld the enormous mountain of pretty, pretty stones. Envy bounced and hopped into action, knowing that they had to have some of these for themselves. The little one bristled and bounced, twiddling their paws and scampering around as they looked for the best, and the brightest, to take back home with them to Orion. RE: [Event] Festive Surprise! - Livius - Apr 01 2018
Some time later, a little white stoat returned. She traveled quickly, with her head low to the ground, with clear purpose in her lilac eyes as she scurried intently towards the piles of colourful eggs. It was unclear who the little white stoat actually was, and she seemed antsy not to be seen; quickly, the little thing disappeared into the midst of the piles, burrowing in between the largest eggs and quickly becoming lost from sight, with only the occasional scrabble to show her progress, and an occasional flash of a little white face peeking out from the pile. At various points, the stoat cast a wary eye over the gembounds assembled nearby, before continuing in her frantic searching. What a determined, admirable little beast. ___________________________________________________________ "Speech looks like this." He was simply wandering when something caught his eye. More than one thing. A whole cluster of eggs, varying in shapes and size, all colorful and pretty. He stared at them all, wondering what they all were and what they were doing here. Where they all chrysalises? Or something else? Looking around, he was aware of others coming through and taking some. And also one was hatching. He watched it for a moment before looking away, paying it no mind. He could see the alligator that had been in the magicka competition, though he simply came in and walked away. Taking a breath, he began to look around at all the eggs, trying to decide which one to grab. It took a while for him to find one that spoke to him. And one that he could carry. Finally, he just went for the first one he saw and picked it up. It was heavy, but he managed to carry it in his mouth and wandered off, away from the cluster. -exit Zev- "Speech" l 'Thoughts' RE: [Event] Festive Surprise! - Lucifero - Apr 01 2018
Much talking. Much voice. Much things, he did not find necessary. Unfriendly the young cub proved to be. Keeping to himself since birth. Though with anything probably valuable, he would lurk close. It seemed the many few had gotten there first. Exit RE: [Event] Festive Surprise! - Red - Apr 01 2018 Red had been adamantly avoiding the Spire since her first exposure to its side effects. It was always there in the corners of her vision, and sometimes she would turn and face it and wonder at it for a while, but she would not draw close to it. Today, however, there was a new pile of… something… over by the big blue crystals. What were all those? They were so… shiny. Feeling curious despite herself, the coywolf decided that one peek couldn’t hurt. And if she started feeling bad from the Spire, she would just leave. There were a bunch of other Gembound around the pile, too, and that was making her even more curious. She sped up to a trot, almost a run, and arrived at the place where so many others were hanging around. Eggs? That’s what everyone was looking at — eggs? Red’s brows drew together as she stepped up to the nearest one and sniffed at it. Well, it was sort of pretty and glittered in the light of Polaris. Odd, though, that it had no smell. She looked around at everyone else. They seemed to be picking up eggs and carrying them away. Why would they do that…? With a shrug, she just decided to go along with it. These didn’t seem like chrysalises, as they weren’t attached to the ground, so… she didn’t feel bad taking them. She picked up her only semi-impressive egg, which was heavier than she had expected it to be, and then loped away, wondering where she would put it… [Exit Red] |
