Too long I've been afraid - Amazon - May 22 2018
Amazon peered down through the water. She had traveled the way up the river to this place here, where the water spread around a huge submerged device deep at the bottom. She leaned forward, her nose gently touching the tip of the river, as if looking closer would make her see any better. She didn't know what that thing down there was. She wanted to know, though, but was there a way to get closer? RE: Too long I've been afraid - Rinaotei - May 23 2018 Pulsing away throughout Polaris with strong wings, Rinaotei let these air currents elevate her up higher and higher as an idle wind played with her fur and its soughing playing a little tune in a major key within her ears. Rinaotei gets lost in her thoughts as she angles her wings like sails, with them, stretched taut, sanctioning herself to glide along without an exorbitant amount in concentration; like her version in auto-pilot. Adoring this wind's feather touch on her as she appreciates her freedom, which she often does. Rinaotei has had hopes to explore somewhere she mayhaps hasn't gone in a while; she has been at Polaris a bit too frequently lately even if its air here is impeccable for a relaxing flight. Mayhaps Rina should endeavour for another region on these caves soon; wouldn't wish to get bored after all and Rina is remotely never in one place for long. Eyelids opening again she finds herself flying above a rushing river which need not run so fast, same could get said for Rina herself whose often hasty to traversing to wherever she is going. Revering and analysing about every fascinating ripple to the flowstone around this river's littoral, and an infrequent still rock not fazed from a mighty body of water rushing around it... Hm? Is there, just faintly an unusual shape or something right there on said lone rock? Rinaotei can make it out on something how there's something not quite recognisable on it, she gradually descends to it, curious and every second her answer becomes more evident to what it is but it keeps on getting away from her. 'HELP!!' ...Ah. Well, there's her answer; a Gembound in danger. Rina's mind stirs and becomes sharp as she swoops down much more expeditious to this rock and them assist them in her hopes to bring them to safety. As Rina got more proximate to them, it became evident on how small they are so moving it mayhaps be a risk to prehend them by her talons or tail but it is also jeopardy to nudge them for it could risk perturbing these waves subtly which may be hazardous for a diminutive Gembound. She needs to plan a safer idea, but while she does, Rina got more proximate to them and craned her head and neck. Rina's Gem and horns were within reach for them now; hopefully, they'll make an endeavour to climb on her head, and if not, the mutant will be analysing some ideas on what else to do in helping. She remained quiet to keep her concentration on staying a little in the air to not perturb any ripples and holding her head craned like so despite how sore it may become soon. "Speech" @Amazon RE: Too long I've been afraid - Amazon - May 23 2018
Amazon couldn't see anything, her lids shut tight to protect the precious eyes underneath from the spray of the river water. All she heard was the flapping of wings and that could mean one of two things - either something had seen easy pickings or she was being rescued. Hoping it was the latter, she cracked open her eyes to see the flying dog just in front of her. RE: Too long I've been afraid - Rinaotei - May 24 2018 Rinaotei was hoping this Gembound is endeavouring to climb on her head to safety; she can't move her head to observe them after all. Aberrantly enough, despite how they appear to be reptilian and struggling to stay afloat in this cold river there's something next to where Rina believes this Gembound is now which is giving off quite a warm temperature; mayhaps it's even warmer than Rina's body-temperature. Still, it's possbly it'll give Rina an idea where they are if she is correct on how it is next to them or mayhaps part of this Gembound in-fact. ...Which indeed was a good thing for Rina as she expeditiously registered how said warmth slipped away, now only the ice-cold water was all there is, little quiffs from this rushing river splashing on her Gem. Rina moves her neck and tilts her head back to its original position so her eyes can observe what is transpiring right now and as she suspected there was no longer anyone on this rock; they were further down this river, the tide rising and ferocious on them, it was not acting kind to them. They endeavoured to fight its waves but infelicitous as it is with their miniature size their currently matchstick legs did next to nothing in saving themselves. Pulsing her wings through the air each heavy beat buffeting the air and making a fluid sound like a spinning wind turbine, and from how swift she is going it was like an invisible jet engine was below her wings, giving her a boost. Rina's reaction time to decelerating was off as she flew past them, and so Rina's last-ditch endeavour to save them right now she swept her tail and submerged it. Her tail expeditiously became cold as an iceberg, but when it made contact with something like glass or something, waffles of heat elevating from it which Rina has to assume hopefully is in-fact this Gembound's Gem. Promptly wrapping her flexible tail around it with a little more around what's under this warm-glass object which thankfully her tail also made contact with something like scales which she also wrapped her tail around till she was sure there was a firm hold and snaked it out alongside what she has caught. Glancing down there was a minuscule reptilian Gembound in her tail's prehension now, but her tail's hold was getting loose from how oily their body is from being drenched, water pouring off their sides making them slippy to keep a firm grasp on without fortuitously harming them. Rina picked up on her speed till she was flying above land instead of rushing water and descended to stable ground lassitude creeping in when she lands. Least she managed to save this Gembound, well she hopes her tail still had a hold on them when she managed to reach land; it is too tiring currently to turn her head and inspect right now. Still saving Gembound who have fallen in water appears to have become an occurring thing now for Rina, well it was only a second time but still. "Speech" @Amazon RE: Too long I've been afraid - Amazon - May 24 2018
As Amazon was thrown downstream, she felt something soft curl against her body and, immediately, she began to struggle with fear. Envy had told her about big things that would want to eat her, things that would want to harm her. She had told them that she was unappetizing due to her scales...but perhaps she was wrong. RE: Too long I've been afraid - Rinaotei - May 24 2018 Rinaotei admittedly in her haste due to a possibility on this Gembound slipping off her tail's prehension, wasn't paying much attention, lamentably. Rina believed their intentional struggling was from them slipping out her grasp which made her accelerate in her haste to get to land before her tail loses its grip on them. So, when Rina managed to muster her energy to turn her head around after panting for a little to check if her tail still has a small reptile Gembound, only to find there was nothing in its possession. Rina's ears perked up and expeditiously drooped afterwards, reprimanding herself for acting so careless in her rescue endeavour; still not cognizant they intentionally escaped her hold from fear and not wholly apprised about Rina's intentions. She dragged her tired form to turn around, back towards the river and from how proximate her eyes are now it didn't take her long to discover a little reptilian Gembound drowning in this river's unforgiving waves. Rina's attention got sharper with on how they weren't fighting those waves or endeavouring to remain afloat; they were wholly still. Oh goodness... In her desperation, despite how much energy she lacks the mutant sharpened her nerves, and all her eyes were on was a large body of water which was carrying this Gembound away. Water is her element and hers to command; it is all hers; she can make it fly, dance and even freeze it, Rina can do it all and so she will not let it take this Gembound’s life, this water will bend to her will. Her Gem crackled and lit by an internal flame of many effulgent hues brought from her will and imagination and granted Rina all freedoms to this here river. Rina mustered all her energy to keep her Gem channelling her Magick, Magick which permeates her veins and her Gem; while doing so, Rina moves her head a little upwards. In an instant, this elevating tide bent to her will as a small radius of water around this Gembound pooled, and waves calmed to cessation as Rina's Magick drawn this water to be as flat and tight as a sheet. No more waves are thrashing their body around, and Rina also managed to bend all water monoxide to be away from their nostrils and mouth to sanction them to breathe air once again possibly. Next, she hoisted her head higher and leaned it forward and drew it back soon afterwards, making something like a circular motion with her snout as she reiterated this many times with her head and tendrils of water was swirling around this Gembound's lower torso. Each willed quiff of water fused with each other and rose up like an immensely massive bubble breaking the river's surface, bringing this Gembound along with it. Rina is sure to keep their head above this water to sanction them to breathe air still, and soon this bubble was out the water. Rina made more water swell up and connect with this bubble to utilise as support to ascertain this water's hold on this Gembound didn't break apart; it was like a thin water tower or a weak geyser now. Pushing even more water and soon after with her will Rina pulled the top of this water which has this Gembound in its grip towards land, where Rina is making it as flexible as her tail now, pulling out more water still to keep the support and pulling any water away from their nostrils again. It was an exhausting feat, but Rina managed to do it as Gembound's minuscule form determinately reached land. Rina relinquished her Magick's control on this water, gravity coercing it all down, some returning to this river's mighty waves and some now puddles on the ground as this Gembound landed on solid ground additionally, safely away from this river. She tiredly gave them a small nudge with her nose to mayhaps rouse them awake. "Speech" Side Note: Ah whoops alrighty I'll keep note of that, I've edited that post a little on that. @Amazon RE: Too long I've been afraid - Amazon - May 25 2018
This time, in her exhaustion, Amazon did not even notice the water rising. To her, it was merely the river finding a new way to toss her about. After all, she didn't care anymore. She was so tired, she just wanted to sleep. Sleep for a long, long time. RE: Too long I've been afraid - Rinaotei - May 25 2018 It was relieving for Rina when she witnessed them managing to breathe again when she got all water away from their face and appeared to have succeeded to open their eyes again. That's good at least she has got them out this water in time despite how long she took in saving them. Thankfully despite all odds, they don't seem to be harmed too much from observing how they were moving their head around with such curiosity as to what could be going on currently. Mayhaps they are more in shock, Rina can't quite tell now for her tiredness made it a bit a challenge to study even this Gembound's expression and movements except for how they are most definitely moving around fine. Well with now they are up close it was easy to tell they were stunned at what happened there; whether it was from how she saved them or from such a rough close call remains to be witnessed here. She lets herself rest more but keeps an eye on them still, concerned to a possibility on them potentially falling back in the river. Their question was one she should've expected after all they appear young so mayhaps they are not too familiar with Magick or mayhaps they are and have only never witnessed this Spell as it was an advanced one from how much it has drained her more than ever. "Good day to you too..." she had to respond with her sarcasm to lighten this mood, but it was hard from how worn out she is. Rina was tempted to communicate by scratching words onto the rocky ground with her claws, but it may take more energy to do it so speaking mayhaps be a better option. "I used my Water Magick to do it... ...Mayhaps you are not familiar with Magick yet...?" mayhaps they are but not quite this kind, Magick abounds with surprises after all, but despite her exhaustion descending on her, she got compelled to answer and ask them. "Speech" @Amazon RE: Too long I've been afraid - Amazon - May 25 2018
It took longer for things to process in Amazon's head due to the shock of the whole experience. But after a moment she realized she hadn't thanked the wolf-creature for literally saving her life. RE: Too long I've been afraid - Rinaotei - May 25 2018 Rina let out a few laboured pants from her lassitude; it appears it'll take some time for her vigour to return to her; it makes her wish she wasn't at such a distance from much warmer waters which could help revitalise her like Fornax. Fornax is quite a bit away from Polaris, besides she wishes to keep an eye on this Gembound for a bit longer to ascertain nothing disastrous transpires again. "Ah... It is my pleasure. It does not appear you are; you appear fairly alive to me," she had to jest again to lighten this mood once again; she had to. "Yes... It was me... Water is mine to command with my Magick," which she demonstrated since as obstinate as this river was it couldn't fight against her will when she utilised her Magick. "Magick is a puissant ability one like us have... which can come in many different forms... it abounds us with surprises," Rina had to pause in her speaking, needing to draw in more deep breaths. "How one uses... Magick will... Depend on the Gembound and mayhaps on what kind of Spell it is... For some Gembound... It is through academic research, ingenious will and imagination... Or merely raw instinct..." as for Rina herself, she isn't quite sure what hers is in-fact. "Still... All Magick emanates from your Gem..." mayhaps Magick flow their veins, yes; but it is through their Gems they can utilise Magick in such a manner. "Y-Yes it was... It was tiring..." so much of her energy still has not returned, it appears she'll require remaining laying for a little while longer. "Speech" @Amazon |
