Le GASP - Gertrude - Jun 30 2018

M for languages

With a loud crack, the bird burst free from his cage. How long had be been out, he wondered. Although he wasn't sure, he had decided that it had indeed been too long. He couldn't remember what happened, but he knew it explicitly pissed him off. How dare his chrysalis reclaim him for so long? How dare he remain unaware for cycles on end?

In truth, he was hurt and confused, but it always came out as anger. He needed a way to vent. He needed to find something to take his feelings out on. The caves would rue the day they decided to reclaim the bird prince Gertrude, if it was the last thing he did.

RE: Le GASP - Amras - Jul 07 2018

Time was beginning to heal the wounds and fears of the past. The wall still stood in Polaris but nothing more had come from it. Whatever force had driven him to the madness of its creation during the magic competition was either dormant or patient.

Hopefully dormant.

In the meantime, Amras had gone back to his old habits, no longer staying stationary in one room but spending each day in a different area, each day working on a different aspect of his magical practice. out of consideration for Rift he still hadn't delved too deeply into the magic of disease, but that could be attempted at any point. He knew the theory and that was good enough, right? There was no harm in deepening his cursory understanding of the other elements first, right?

Thus having gotten a good bit of sun for sustenance the day before in his outing to Pisces Amras now sat under a tree surrounded by the mists of Cetus, eyes closed as he reached inwards once more to bring out one of the spells that had caused him so much grief. The magic in the air responded to his intent, gathering around as he took hold of it and sent it into the ground below to be shaped.

Don't be an evil talking wall of madness. Don't be an evil talking wall of madness.

After a couple seconds of shaping the energy manifested into being, bringing the sounds of rising gemsone and strangely... a loud crack to the gryphon's ears. When he opened his eyes a wide circular hematite pillar had appeared from the ground, perfectly intact and reflective with no sign of any cracks. What had caused the other noise then?

There was a loud, grinding noise. A very loud, very unpleasant, very obnoxious noise. Gertrude didn't remember any grinding noises whenever he was last awake. That meant... he wasn't alone.

Gertrude stretched his wings for a moment before taking somewhat clumsily to the air. It was harder than he remembered. Of course, with his adult body and several cycles of unuse, it was a surprise that Gertrude could fly at all.

Gertrude circled about until he found the source of the noise. A gemstone pillar stood, with a gembound not too far off.

"And just WHAT do you think you're doing?"

@Amras

RE: Le GASP - Amras - Jul 20 2018

The gryphon took a deep breath as he stood up from his spot, first upon four limbs and then with repositioning of his wings onto two. The platform before him looked mundane enough, and its shape more akin to what his magic tended to produce. While many earth magic users in the cave tended to create spikes his usage seemed to be a bit more prone to resulting in pillars of varying dimensions. Another anomaly in the manifestation of magic, something he would have to investigate in detail later.

Just as Amras was about to climb onto the platform a green speck flew across the reflection in the hematite and a voice called out from above. A voice that seemed not too happy about the scene below.

"Hello!" the bright blue creature called above, as though nothing were out of the ordinary. "I'm sorry if I accidentally invaded your territory. This place seemed out of the way enough to get some magic practice in"
