An Unexpected Meeting - Jayberry - Jul 01 2018
Jayberry was pleased.
Orion - the Room of Stars - was very pretty. While she didn't know what a star was, she assumed they were rather pretty. Quartz darted the room, sparkling brightly and giving off just enough light for her to see by. However, if one was to go looking for her, she would be rather hard to see. What with her dark pelt and all. They might catch a flash of light atop her head, where a black bird's feather was woven into the fur behind her ear.
Massive paws padded silently on hard stone, golden eyes scanning intently. Pointed ears twitched this way and that, seeking out the source of any noise. This area seemed rather empty, and she had only ran into a few lesser Gembounds, who quickly found themselves meeting a bloody end. A flexible tongue licked at bloodied lips, strong jaw opening just long enough to reveal bloodied fangs.
Slowing from her trot, the black wolf plodded to the edge of the cliffs. Rock slaps jutted out, providing her a perfect view of Orion. This would be perfect, mother would love it here! Perhaps she could convince mother to move here?

Hoo boy this place was a familiar one.
Well, course it's familiar, memory isn't so bad he can't recall what every room in these caves is; he only had forgotten what happened before he went into his chrysalis after all.
Still, Albeon believes how during his time in his chrysali he had maybe a dream displaying many thin Gembound shackled in manacles with short chains, slaving away at its many buildings. They were getting ordered or slaughtered by a tyrant who seemed to make Albeon's heart race with rage, and a deja vu sensation made his heart pulse faster even though he can't quite recall who they were. They were familiar though and if they weren't it still worried Albeon about many suffering Gembound in Orion possibly.
So when he arrived he had to inspect it himself, but its dead quiet and still in ruins an empty void; so everything is okay?
Albeon didn't leave though as he took to flapping his more massive wings and let winds carry his altitude up and everything from above appears fine too; it seems only one Gembound is in Orion right now, and it is Albeon himself. Guess he worried over nothing, dreams and all.
Wait, a metallic smell is here, oh great; what now? Please say it is only carrion from hunting and not another nutjob as he feared it was.
Letting out an aggravated sigh Albeon circles around Orion while flying, he'll continue to survey it a little while longer and before going elsewhere. Maybe Eridanus later.

The wolf's sharp ears twitched, and she looked around. What had that been?
It had sounded like wings, like the birds she'd been snacking on all day. But much larger, larger than the bite-sized birds she had seen.
Looking up, something caught her eye. It was dark colored as well, and would have blended in, if it weren't for something brightly orange in color that streamed behind it.
Her wet nose twitched, and she tilted her head. What was that? It smelled familiar, and whatever it was made anger burn low in her stomach.

Weaving around and between Orion's many individual buildings in mid-air, each appearing same as ever, in complete ruins and nothing like scraggy Gembound, blood or chains around them. All seems fine, except for this metallic scent, besides it, there is no sign which displays a relation to Albeon's dream at all.
But let's not leave yet, Albeon needs to inspect what this metallic smell is in case some psycho is running loose. Albeon took to higher ground now; he has made sure from his inspection how there appear to be no slaves working endlessly on Orion's buildings, and thus he no longer needs to inspect them up close.
Sure enough, there were a few corpses here and there from how things appeared with a few spots which are stained in a red hue, standing out well with Orion's landscape colours. Albeon took to a small descent to get closer to one; a fellow bird much smaller, appears to be a common Lesser Gembound species so maybe it's only one hunting?
This bird still got Albeon's sympathy a little as he sighed a little, he's now aware hunting is necessary for some Gembound still bothers him a little despite things which have happened, he won't do what he did previously as a Gemling no way in hell but yet this kinda thing still bothers him to some extent. After all, this creature only got subjected to this because it was within radius to something which needs to hunt.
Pretty unfortunate...
Albeon does not pick off any carrion from this carcass, another Gembound may come across it while hunting after all, and so may not need to do much hunting afterwards for today. Albeon will survive, berries and fruit are his preference after all, and with now possessing horse attributes maybe try other plants too?
Albeon flew back up, although he concludes things are okay he'll scout things out one last time before going maybe, circling Orion again he finds something like a silhouette below perhaps, hard to tell it blends in well with things which made Albeon ignore it at first, whatever it is it probably isn't relevant.
Appears what he believes there does not seem to matter though as it called out quite harshly, demanding his attention which makes him close his eyes and let out a puff of air through his nostrils, like a horse snorting. He remained flying; he has lowered his altitude a little, but not too much as they have only demanded his attention. Still, while he is curious as to what they want, Albeon with encountering those bird corpses has left his mood to be a bit sour so unless they say something which indicates all is not right with Orion he may set things straight and tell them he's busy.
Albeon can now detect this here is a canine and seemed familiar which makes him suspicious. Is this maybe his old enemy from his dreams? No no, his old enemy has more eyes than usual, and he may not recall his old enemy well since he has forgotten their name and all but things which managed to stand out in his hazy memories is how they had many eyes like a spider or something and being a canine.
This canine has only two eyes.
He is still suspicious though even if they can't be his old enemy fact is he believes they are familiar so he should be cautious.
"...Yes?" he was tempted to tell them he is busy but the fox-sized hippogriff will do so if whatever they want is something he is not interested in, his tone does reflect how much his mood has been killed from earlier though and is not interested in striking a conversation right now.

The wolf, not yet an adult but too large to be a pup, bulky and long legged like a yearling, looked up. She could swear that she had met this... thing before, yet she knew she had never seen it, or anything before, in any of the Cycles of her life. So why did it look so familiar?
Once it was close enough that she could tell it had recognized her, she stood tall, ears pointing towards Albeon. Truly, she couldn't care less about the tone of his voice, so long as he spoke to her.

They couldn't be him, their voice seemed to be feminine and what does appear in his dreams is a guttural, deep and growling one with an odd manner in speaking; there are still other facts as well such as once again, not possessing an overabundance in eyes as his old enemy did. So, how can he possibly have met this canine before? Maybe they were random passer-by maybe if they have met before? If so, they aren't too relevant to Albeon to some extent, now if they were amicable, this canine wouldn't be so irrelevant, but their body language seems to indicate animosity; appear to be pissed off which made him remain flying some safe distance away as they asked him their question.
Well now, this seems pointless if they also recognise Albeon but don't possess knowledge as to why which means their situation about this odd Deja vu is mutual; no clue why it is there so is there any point to pursue it? From how they are acting isn't exactly friendly, if they have met before it may not have been a positive one and Albeon does not care to recall bad memories, he already has enough bad memories.
""Don't ask me I dunno, you sure it's just not in your head? Unless you attacked me when I emerged or something then maybe. I doubt it though you don't look like the canine who did do that," he made his best impression to shrug with his shoulders while flying, expression filled with scepticism. Maybe they are bullshitting him?

Jay looked at the bird-thing, feeling irritation rise in her. Why did it look so familiar?
And then it struck her. The head, and a good chunk of it, looked exactly like the bird that she and her family had fought. But that had been a bird, with wings and two bird legs, like mother. Not a hybrid, with legs like father. But surely not...
However, his words twigged on. Emerged?

"...What chrysalis are you talking about?" what the hell are they babbling? Did they not listen or something, on how he was attacked seconds after he was born? He never mentioned going into a chrysalis after being attacked; they should stop putting words in his mouth, he didn't mention anything about going into a chrysalis when it happened. Are they merely a complete dumbass?
"I said I was attacked by a canine when I emerged," Albeon raised his voice with a slow drawl when he empathised his last word, moving his beak slowly too so it would be easy for them to lip-read his last word. A stupidly obvious thing to Albeon and how his tone empathised it giving off a sarcastic and mocking voice from how dumb it is on how he has to explain this.
"You know; when I was born, that's what I meant so no clue what you're talking about," he was a raven previously yes, but he was no crow. Albeon is sceptic about how they met a random crow which somehow went into its chrysalis, sure as hell leaving many vital details out there and he doesn't like it. Are they trying to bullshit him after all? Yup, he shall remain flying if they are for whatever reason trying to deceive him.

Albeon would mention to them how he was a regular bird once, but they have left out vital details on this supposed crow they 'met' trapped inside a chrysalis, so Albeon has a right to keep some keen details to himself too if they're not going to share about how this crow went into their chrysalis.
"Well with all this said and done I best be on my way," drawing his breath and huffing out an irritated sigh, a little glad to have this over with as he needs to be alone for a bit, after what he his eyes caught earlier. Sucking in some air what Albeon inhaled was more composed of noxious living fungal matter than air, and Albeon's breathing and mind were getting choked by this fungus swiftly.
Coughs broke out from his breath and gradually got worse.
"Ugh! Th-The fuck?! What's happening?" he yelled out as his voice sounded darker and severe than usual. Oh god something's not right, did they do this? Damn it; deception! Vision is getting covered over by something like black glitter as many voices and images played in Albeon's head, all too quick and hazy, so they meant nothing but they did make him dizzy.
They did do this, didn't they? Let's make out their reaction as things aren't too bad; their form hasn't escaped his eyesight yet.
